Watches come in all shapes, sizes, designs and price points. Many think that an attractive watch has to cost an arm and a leg (literally). Well, fortunately, that statement does not hold true when you are talking about Citizen watches.

Best Citizen Watch Criteria

There are many aspects and features if a watch that makes the particular timepiece attractive to the buyer. BUT, then there are functions and features that make the watch great overall; those being durability, design, movement, and special features. Today, we hope to assist in your Citizen watch buying journey, breaking down each watch into multiple sections, to help you choose the number one best watch for yourself or a loved one!

Citizen Eco-Drive Titanium Perpetual

Everything about this watch is great. For context, the Eco-Drive Titanium Perpetual is definitely a “Wow, I am sure glad I bought this!” watch.

The Titanium Perpetual pulls in the attention of any eyes that dare lie in its path, with a bold, large 42mm titanium case and a complex guilloche dial with three chronograph subdials. It is truly a masterpiece!

Durability

Things do not get much more durable than this. Have you heard of titanium?

Really though, the timepiece is very durable. Top durability perks include up to 200 Meters of water resistance, titanium link bracelet, strong & anti-reflective sapphire crystal, and a blue ion plating to ensure the watch does not rust or degrade.

Design & Movement

A chronograph design is not easy to perfect. There are so many moving parts that can make a chronograph watch seem to complex. The Titanium Perpetual is a perfect median of complexity and clean design.

The tachymeter top-ring around the bezel gives the watch character. This is the type of feature you typically see on a much higher priced timepiece. So although it seems simple, it is not…. Other aesthetics of the watch include the 42mm stainless steel case, which gives the watch a bold and strong look. And also a titanium link bracelet with fold over clasp, for comfort and style.

A high-quality Japanese quartz movement is the engine behind the titanium perpetual. Partnered with the Eco-Drive technology, you can have faith that your timepiece will continuously tick for years. In fact, Citizen claims that the watch should last 1.5 years on a full charge! That is absolutely nuts for a quartz movement.

The Everyday Citizen’s Watch

If you are looking for an everyday watch that is as stylish as it is functional than you are making the right decision with the Citizen Titanium Perpetual. Built for everyday use, this timepiece is sure to keep you happy & aware of the exact time, in any timezone.

Citizen Pro-Master Diver

A dive watch for a great value! It really does not get much better than that!

The Citizen Pro-Master Diver is an excellent choice for the dive watch fanatic, who does not necessarily want to see their bank account take a plunge (no pun intended). With a classic unidirectional, aluminum bezel and a strong and sturdy 48mm case, there is no doubting the durability of this particular model.

Durability

Effortlessly dive up to 660 ft with the Pro-Master without having to worry. This is in fact, a certified dive watch, so it was made to take on the pressure! The molded polyurethane band offers owners a comfortable, yet an extremely rugged piece of the watch that is near impossible to harm.

Design & Movement

A revolutionary feature was added to the Pro-Master Dive to ensure it is able to operate without ever having to change the battery. Typically, quartz movements need to be replaced every few years; and the Citizen Pro-Diver does have a Japanese quartz movement inside. However, the Eco-Drive feature ensures the watch can continue to run with natural or artificial lighting.

Dive watches that come with quartz movements are usually looked down upon. But having the Eco-Drive ability makes the Citizen Pro-Master compete with some other type dive watch brands!

A True Dive Watch

When you go under a certain price point, it is hard to find a decent dive watch that is as attractive as is functional. Luckily, with the Citizen Pro-Master Diver, you get the best of both worlds. The watch is 100% ISO compliant and is built to withstand years of diving. It really is a true dive watch.

Citizen Eco-Drive Stainless Steel Axiom

The innovative and contemporary design of the Stainless Steel Axiom makes it the perfect timepiece for your modern day millennial in 2019.

The futuristic silver-tone watch with a black top ring and a blank black dial featuring a date window make this watch a simplistic addition to the wrist. It is a great watch to wear with any outfit and is comfortable to wear as well.

Durability

The Steel Axiom may not be as tough and rugged as the other watches that are being reviewed today. But it still is quite durable. The watch features a mineral date window, that tends to not get scratched up. A stainless steel case and bracelet. It is also a water “resistant” watch. So it can take a few splashes and some walks in the rain. I would not recommend swimming or dropping it in the toilet.

Design and Movement

As mentioned previously, this watch has a simple design, but something about it that makes it so much more. The futuristic look, with a large, 40mm stainless steel case, make the timepiece truly stand out on the wrist.

As for the movement, just as good as the other Citizen watches. A Japanese quartz, with Eco-drive technology. So no need to change up the battery.

Simple, yet Stylish

Its high-fashion nowadays to be considered simplistic, or a minimalist. With the Citizen Stainless Steel Axiom, you can now follow the crowd. Not only will you be styling, but also saving some hard earned cash along the way. This watch is a steal!

Best Triathlon Watches

1. Garmin Forerunner 935

When it comes to GPS watches, Garmin is a brand that’s high on most people’s list – including ours. The Garmin Forerunner 935 is one of the best, if not the best, GPS watches that Garmin has released.

It’s far from an affordable option but it’s definitely a worthy investment for any serious athlete.

An Ironman’s Best Friend

The Forerunner 935 is a premium GPS through and through. The GPS and other navigation features are spot on.

However, the wealth of running and multisport features is what makes the Forerunner 935 a great investment. The watch provides you with the right tools to monitor your performance, training, and recovery. It actually monitors your training and will let you know if you are training productively, peaking or pushing yourself too hard.

The 935 also lets you set built-in activity profiles for different activities like running, cycling, hiking, strength training, swimming, and more. For triathletes, switching to another sports profile is as easy as pressing a button. Like all good smartwatches, the 935 syncs with your compatible smartphone that will let you access more training and social features.

If you are a serious athlete, the Forerunner 935 will easily become your best friend. It’s a feature-packed and comfortable triathlon watch that’s definitely worth the price tag.

2. Polar Vantage V

The Polar Vantage V is a great looking watch with enough features to impress even the most hardcore athletes.

It looks like the previous Vantage M model but it’s a little bit heavier, and for good reason. The Vantage V comes highly recommended for those who are trying to train at the highest level.

A Fully-Featured Training Tool on Your Wrist

The Polar Vantage V managed to catch my attention because it’s a good-looking, well-designed watch.

Unlike other smartwatches, the Vantage V comes with a circular watch face which means that I can wear them casually without telling the world that you are wearing a fitness device. The buttons are also fairly low-profile so the watch doesn’t look bulky and it doesn’t get caught on pockets, sleeves, etc.

One of the best features of the Vantage V is definitely the Running Power function. This gives the user to have another data point which comes in handy for a more accurate training session. I also love the fact that the touchscreen feature can be disabled during training mode. Touch screens are great but they can get rather touchy when training due to factors like sweat, moisture, inadvertent contact, and more.

Overall, the Vantage V is a high-quality fitness watch with amazing features for training at the highest level.

3. Garmin Fenix 5

You can’t really make a list of the best triathlon watch without including multiple products from Garmin. The next watch that we have for you is the Garmin Fenix 5.

The Fenix 5 is actually very similar to the Forerunner 935 in terms of features. However, the Fenix 5 has proven to be the tougher watch between the two.

For Athletes of All Levels

The Fenix 5 actually comes in three different versions: 5S, 5, and 5X. Each model comes in a wide range of color options, lens types, and strap options. Aside from the size and weight, the three versions are almost identical except for the 5X (the most expensive model) having the mapping feature.

The Fenix 5 is a top-notch watch and that’s mainly attributed to its wealth of great features. Activity tracking with this watch is a breeze and very accurate. This a full-featured triathlon watch which means that you can use it for swimming both in the pool and open water locations.

The watch can be programmed with multiple profiles and you are allowed to switch profiles on the fly. If you have the HRM-Run heart rate monitor (the chest strap add-on), you can track metrics like ground contact time and vertical oscillation.

As mentioned, it’s a heavier, tougher alternative to the Forerunner 935 which makes it more suitable for tougher activities.

4. Suunto 9

I am a big fan of the Suunto brand. In fact, one of my favorite pickups lately is the Suunto Traverse Alpha. The brand has a great handle when it comes to sports watches, so it’s not surprising that the Suunto 9 GPS watch has made the list.

Beefy Features with the Bulk

The Suunto 9 is quite similar to Garmin’s Fenix series in the sense that it’s a rather hefty watch that boasts a lot of features. Throw any outdoor activity at it and it will track it. This watch can track over 80+ sports.

The Suunto 9 stands out for having an impressive battery life. Depending on your settings, the watch can last from 25 up to 120 hours between charging. Even when the battery starts to run out during your training, the watch will suggest that you can change settings easily in order to conserve battery.

For running, the watch utilizes motion sensor information with GPS technology. This enables the device to conserve battery without sacrificing quality. Swimmers will have no problem wearing this as it can be used for pool and open water swims. Switching between activities is as easy as pressing a button.

If you mind the weight and bulk, this watch might not be for you. This watch definitely has a weight to it. However, the number of great features and impressive battery life make this a solid triathlon watch.

5. Garmin Forerunner 735XT

We have yet another candidate from Garmin and it’s the Garmin Forerunner 735XT.

The Forerunner 735XT is very comparable to the 935 except for some key features like the barometric altimeter sensor and golf tracking support. However, it’s a very competent triathlon watch and presents a good alternative if you think that the 935 is too expensive.

A Reliable Multisport Watch With a Learning Curve

Triathlon athletes will surely appreciate the 735XT’s thin and lightweight profile. Whether you are running, cycling, or swimming, the watch feels like it’s barely there.

However, it comes with advanced features that will satisfy any serious athlete.

The Forerunner 735XT is preloaded with profiles for many different activities. It has data support for running, cycling, swimming, hiking, skiing, strength training, paddle sports and cardio. The 735XT features a multisport mode which allows you to track different sports as one activity. You just need to press the lap button to switch to next sport. Battery life is a decent 14 hour with GPS enabled.

As stated, there’s a bit of a learning curve to use the 735XT. Working with the five watch buttons can be confusing and learning how to use the watch properly will take some time. I highly recommend you spend some time reading the manual first.

Once you get past the learning curve, the watch offers plenty in terms of customization.

6. Polar Vantage M

The Polar Vantage M is highly recommended for athletes who are looking for a mid-range triathlon watch.

The Vantage M looks quite similar to the V but it’s definitely the cheaper option between the two. However, this doesn’t mean that you should skip on the Vantage M as it offers plenty of features for the hardcore athlete.

The Mid-Range Option for Elite Athletes

The Polar M400 and M430 were very popular multisport devices which is why the Vantage M had a lot to live up to. Fortunately, this follow-up by Polar was not a disappointment.

What I love about Polar watches is the comfortable design. The Vantage M is very comfortable and lightweight – you can wear this 24/7 because unlike the heavier Vantage V, you’ll never feel the need to take it off. The Vantage M doesn’t have touchscreen features but has physical buttons instead. Using the physical buttons is fairly straightforward.

As for the sports tracking, you can expect the same tracking experience with the Vantage V. The watch supports up to 130 sports profiles and you can load 20 to the watch at any given time. Triathletes will have a lot to love with this watch as it offers the most insightful metrics for running, cycling, and swimming.

However, the Vantage M is strictly for sports tracking and training insights. If you are thinking that this is a potential alternative to the Apple Watch, we have to stop you right there. As far as syncing goes, you are only limited to notification support.

All in all, the Vantage M is an exciting multisport tool that won’t break the bank.

7. Suunto Spartan Ultra HR

The Suunto Spartan Ultra HR is a solid go-to option if you think that the Suunto 9 has a crazy price tag.

Despite being the more affordable option to most of the watches on this list, it’s far from a stripped down training tool. In fact, this is one of the best watches for any Ironman participant.

Great Versatility in One Package

As its most basic, the Spartan Ultra HR supports over 80 different activities. Plus, it comes with built-in ABC features and a GPS. For each sport, you can track metrics such as time, distance, pace, and elevation. You are also provided with in-depth data such as peak training effect and workout recovery time.

Since it comes with a GPS, the Spartan Ultra HR will let you map out your paths for a run. For this, you can use Suunto’s Movescount app which enables you to import routes and import a GPS file. There’s even a neat “heat maps” feature where popular routes are shared. With this feature, you may even discover a new or better path for your runs.

The Spartan Ultra HR earns decent marks when it comes to accuracy. Recording metrics such as distance and time are often on point. However, the GPS can be slightly spotty at times but nothing major that it becomes unusable. The GPS does considerably drain the battery.

The Spartan Ultra HR is a high-end activity tracker that offers plenty of versatility.

8. Polar V800

The Polar V800 is not exactly a new and shiny model. In fact, it’s certainly the oldest triathlon watch on this list. However, don’t let that discourage you because this watch packs enough oomph that makes it a top choice for athletes.

A Great Watch for Multisport/Endurance Events

When compared against the newer, sleeker models, the V800 is starting to look outdated. The chunky stainless body with rubber straps certainly doesn’t do the watch any favor. However, it more than makes up for its build quality. This is clearly a watch that can take a good deal of punishment.

Although it’s an older model, we’re happy to report that the V800’s GPS is still as zippy as ever and can deliver mapping with good accuracy. One of the best features is the new Running Program. This feature creates programs based on the watch’s coaching features.

This gives you the ability to create more personalized routines.

To get the most out of the V800, it’s highly recommended that you use it with the Polar Flow app. However, weirdly enough, you can’t create programs using the mobile app and it must be done using the web app.

Battery life will get you 13 hours of training with GPS enabled and about 50 hours in low power mode.

The V800 is definitely starting to show its age as far as design goes but if you care more about accurate stat tracking and a zippy GPS, it’s a solid all-around choice.

How to Choose the Best Triathlon Watch?

Triathlon Watches

As stated earlier, you can’t just choose a sports watch and use it for triathlon training. That’s a surefire way to ruin a perfectly good watch.

Here are the factors that you should consider when buying a triathlon watch.

Multisport

Multisport Watches1

Of course, you want a watch that features a multisport function.

Multisport watches can switch from one sports profile to the next with just a press of a button. For instance, you can easily switch from running to cycling by simply pressing a button. By switching to another sports profile, the information displayed on the screen will be related to that specific sport.

Without a multisport feature, the user will have to manually stop the activity, tinker with the settings, and start a new profile. As you can imagine, this is hardly ideal especially when you’re trying to shave seconds off your performance.

Water Resistance

Since you will be swimming during a triathlon event, it goes without that you need a water resistant watch. However, that might not be enough.

It certainly won’t hurt to get a triathlon watch that can track swimming metrics such as distance, pool laps, stroke count, and more. Swimming watches will typically work in both pools and open-water swims.

Battery Life

Suunto Battery Life

Nothing is more frustrating than running out of battery while you’re in the middle of your triathlon training.

Therefore, you should consider getting a watch with sufficient battery life. Preferably a model that will last longer than your daily exercise routine.

Fortunately, most smartwatches and activity trackers these days have decent battery life at the minimum. It’s still worth considering what sort of event that you are participating in. If you are competing in Ironman, you need a watch that can go for hours without being charged. On the other hand, shorter events like sprint triathlons will only require a watch with decent battery life.

Data Transfer and Connectivity

Suunto Sync

Any serious athlete will review their metrics after every training session.

In this case, you need a watch that can transfer data easily. The watch should feature a painless way to transfer data to a smartphone or computer. This enables you to review your metrics and analyze which areas you need to improve. Or perhaps, you can even share your results via social media.

In terms of connectivity, most smartwatches use Bluetooth or even Wi-Fi. However, there are also models that can only be connected using a physical wire.

Price

Do you go for a watch that’s cheaper but doesn’t have to offer in terms of features? Or do you break the bank and get a deluxe smartwatch with all the bells and whistles? Or maybe, you could settle on a mid-range model that strikes a good balance between the two?

This will all depend on your allocated budget and needs.

If you are a long-time triathlete, you probably have a certain price point in mind. However, for beginners, it might be a good idea to invest in an entry-level to mid-range model and upgrade later.

Frequently Asked Questions

Triathlon Photo

1. How much waterproofing do I need?

When it comes to sports watches, there are varying degrees of “waterproofing.”

For a triathlon, make sure that you get a model with an ATM of 5 or more. However, waterproof capability is not enough. Try finding a watch that measures swimming metrics such as swimming speed and efficiency. Also, watches with swimming features indicate whether they can be used in open water, pool or both.

2. How long should the battery last?

This will depend on the type of activity that you will be doing and how long your usual training session lasts.

Multisport watches with many different features such as GPS will likely run out of juice faster. Fortunately, most modern smartwatches can last from 10 to 20 hours even when in training mode. When checking for battery life, make sure that you read customer reviews and see if the battery life does hold up.

3. Do I need to have a touchscreen watch?

While it’s certainly cool to have, I don’t touchscreen features are a must when it comes to the best triathlon watch.

Don’t get me wrong, touchscreen navigation makes it a breeze to use and navigate the watch. Plus, it’s a bit of a future-proof function since most gadgets are touch-enabled these days. However, touch input can also be a nuisance since you can inadvertently swipe the device during training and stop whatever it is you are tracking.

Final Thoughts

We’ve tried and tested the top triathlon watches in the market and the definite top pick is the Garmin Forerunner 935. It commands a high price tag but it’s definitely worth the investment for any serious athlete.

Best Tide Watches for Fishing

1. Casio G7900-1 G-Shock Rescue

The Casio G7900-1 G-Shock Rescue Watch is a solid option for fishermen who don’t want to spend a fortune on a tide watch.

Being a G-Shock model, this watch boasts a ruggedness that you can expect from G-Shocks. It doesn’t offer that many in terms of features but what it brings into the table are more than enough for even the most jaded fishermen.

A Tough Tide Watch

The main draw of the Casio G7900-1 G-Shock is definitely its tough as a rock design and construction. If you’re planning to use a watch anywhere near bodies of water, you need a timepiece that will get the job done without breaking down.

The 50mm case is made from the standard G-Shock resin which is a bit large even for G-Shock standards. Thus, this watch will likely look bigger on smaller wrists. However, the watch is surprisingly lightweight and is actually comfortable even after wearing it for hours. The enlarged buttons are a nice touch since it makes the watch a lot easier to use.

The watch is water resistant to 660 ft or 200 m. Of course, the watch features a moon phase (8 segments) and a tide graph (6 segments) – these are the features that you need for the best fishing experience. It utilizes the Japanese Quartz movement which is rather disappointing. I would have preferred atomic timekeeping.

Overall, this is a great outdoor timepiece and is a good place to start your search for the best tide watch.

2. Suunto Traverse Alpha

The Suunto Traverse Alpha is one my favorite watches to use to brave the great outdoors.

Using the Suunto Traverse Alpha is like having an assistant that feeds you with information that’s vital to your fishing trips. It is mainly an outdoor GPS watch but it offers some amazing features that will be useful for any fishing enthusiast.

It boasts great accuracy that you can expect from a high-end smartwatch.

High-End Accuracy

While there are certainly issues with the Traverse Alpha, you can’t really fault the watch in terms of accuracy. The Moon Phase calendar feature is location based so you can easily determine the best time to go fishing. This is obviously a plus if you wish to go fishing at night.

The watch also lets you set specific points of interests to mark trails and the best fishing spots you’ll find. The sunrise/sunset alerts do a great job of helping you plan your fishing day. The watch also comes with a barometric pressure graph that will alert you if there’s an incoming storm or any other weather changes.

Of course, the built-in GPS and GLONASS systems will make navigation a breeze.

On top of its great outdoor features, the Traverse Alpha comes in a scratch-resistant display and bacteria-resistant straps. So you can take this bad boy out while fishing and not worry about a thing.

3. Rip Curl Rifles

The Rip Curl Rifles Waterproof Digital Tide Watch was designed to be used for aquatic sports such as canoeing and surfing. However, it comes with features that make it a must for any fishing trip.

Basically, it’s a great watch for just about any water person.

Don’t Expect Fireworks

Just to be clear, the Rifles is not a smartwatch so don’t expect smart features on it. Despite that, it works the way it should. It has your standard alarm, stopwatch, and countdown features.

However, what makes the Rip Curl Rifles a solid tide watch is that it provides tide data at a glance.

There are two modes for displaying tide information: Graph and Detailed. For the Graph view, it provides the user with “at a glance” tide display which is unique for each location. The actual tide heights are displayed 8 hours into the future and 2 hours before. The Detailed view shows the current tide height and direction which also include the numeric time and height of the tide.

The watch is very stylish too and I won’t have a qualm wearing this as a fashion statement. It is rugged but still manages to be comfortable. This watch comes highly recommended for anyone who likes spending their time near bodies of water.

4. Casio AQW101-1AV

I struggled not to include another Casio product on this list. But alas, there’s just so many Casio watches out there that could make a case for being the best tide watch.

The Casio AQW101-1AV is definitely a good contender.

Dedicated Fishing Mode

This is yet another budget-friendly tide watch but it offers enough features that elevate it from just being a cheap piece. For starters, the AQW101-1AV is water resistant to 200 meters. So if you are anywhere near water, you don’t have to worry about splashing water onto the watch.

What makes this watch a good fishing option is the dedicated Fishing Mode. Instead of learning the Lunar calendar and the feeding schedule of the fishes, you can simply check your watch and see what it says. If you can see fish on your watch, there’s a good chance that you’re in for a bountiful fishing session. There’s also the moon data which comes in handy if you’re fishing at night.

Outside of its fishing features, the AQW101-1AV is pretty much a standard watch complete with timekeeping features like 30 time zones (50 cities), city code display, daylight saving, countdown timer and more.

The watch does have a bit of a learning curve so make sure that you spend some time reading the manual before taking it out for a spin.

5. Sunroad FR830

In terms of usability and features, the Sunroad FR830 Tide Watch won’t exactly blow your mind. The other watches from this list have significantly more features than this Sunroad watch.

However, when strictly talking about fishing, this timepiece is an easy recommendation to even the most jaded anglers.

Multi-function Tide Fishing Watch

The Sunroad Tide Watch is an ABC smartwatch that provides a list of decent features. Being an ABC watch, it comes with an altimeter, barometer, and an electronic compass. I’ve been trying this tide watch for quite some time and I must that that it’s fairly accurate. The compass feature can be a little spotty at times but overall, the ABC features work great.

The watch is clearly designed for sea anglers. It displays tidal data and moon’s age and phase charts for 400 city ports. The watch can also warn anglers for any change in weather or barometric pressure which is invaluable if you’re out in the sea.

The Sunroad FR830 is also a very stylish timepiece. I am a fan of the all-black design and legibility is never an issue since it’s completely backlit. The only downside that I do mind is that it’s only waterproof to 50 meters. Thus, it’s only good for handwashing and showering. Don’t even think about diving with this watch.

Overall, the Sunroad FR830 is not just a solid tide fishing watch, it’s a great outdoor companion as a whole.

Final Thoughts

The Best Watches to Buy Under $3,000 (2019)

best watch under $3000

Today, we will be reviewing the best watches in 2019, that you can purchase NOW for under 3,000 dollars.  Let’s face it, watches can be extremely expensive. Our job today is to find our readers not only some good watches under 3,000; but the BEST watches under this price point, period.

How the Review Works

First of all, the term best is a relative term to most. However, when it comes to watches, the term may hold more truth. Watches come in all designs, sizes, shapes, movements, and functions. What typically makes a watch “better” is the design, movement, value, and durability. These will all be accounted for in today’s review to give everyone the VERY best choices for 2019.

Continue on to find out what are the best watches under 3,000 dollars in 2019. We will give you a hint on which one is the best; the Tag Heuer Carrera Calibre 5!

Best Watches Under $3000

Best Watches Under 3,000 What Makes it Great Overall Ranking
Tag Heuer Carrera -Skeleton case back, formal and polished stainless steel design, automatic movement ★★★★★

Breitling Superocean II 42

-Beautiful Mariner Blue Dial, Reliable 25-Jewel Movement, Polished Stainless steel case ★★★★★
Omega Mens Seamaster Black Dial Comfortable and slim design, durability, water resistance up to 300M ★★★★

Henry Jay Limited Edition “Aquamaster” Silver and gold two-toned bracelet, 120 Click Unidirectional Rotating Coin Edge Bezel, 316L Surgical Grade Stainless Steel Case ★★★★

Tag Heuer Carrera

The Tag Heuer Carrera Calibre definitely deserves a top spot for today’s review. It is a handsome and flawless dress watch that pops on the wrist.

Where the Carrera Calibre really shines (literally), lies in the design. At first glance, it is a pretty classic dress style watch. But further investigation it is not hard to see how precious and unique this watch is.

A 39 mm stainless steel case, with a bright, light silver dial and a hand applied Tag Heuer symbol greet those who dare to glance at this masterpiece. The sapphire crystal protecting the dial is not only shiny but keeps the dial from acquiring scratches and smudges.

It’s all in the design

Behind the beautiful case, you will find a skeleton view of the precise movement. Although the case back is not visible at all times, it is a great feature to be able to take off your watch and see the movement in action.

Other highlights of the Carrera Calibre 5 include (but are not limited to): water resistance up to 100M, 38-hour power reserve, automatic movement and the polished link bracelet with a deployment clasp.

Top Features

  • Magnificent silver dial
  • A reliable movement that keeps time extremely well
  • Amazing value for a Tag Heuer Timepiece

With all that said. This is hands down one of the best choices in this price range. Tag Heuer’s are known as one of the top watch brands on the market. And it is easy to see how they outdid themselves with the Carrera Calibre 5!

Breitling Superocean II 42

Now to be completely honest, the Breitling Superocean II 42 may have been chosen for the number one spot if it wasn’t for one factor. It is slightly over the 3,000 dollar mark.

This one has many relating it to one of the most classic dive watches of all time: The Rolex Submariner. What makes the Breitling SO MUCH better, in this case, is it is A LOT more affordable (That was hard to say, I am a Rolex FANATIC)!

Follow this link to see our review of the Breitling Superocean II vs. Rolex Submariner.

The Breitling Superocean II has a perfect sized 42mm case, that is not as big as it sounds. It is on the smaller size compared to many Breitling models, which makes it more desirable for those who were not blessed with bodybuilder sized wrists (Aka: have baby wrists like me). Sitting very low on the wrist, the watch has a nice comfort to it and not a bulky feel like many other watches with cases over 40mm.

One of the most noticeable (and awesome) features of the Superocean II, has to be the mariner blue dial. Blue dials are highly sought after, since they are not as common as black and white, and give watches more contrast.

Blue Dial For the WIN

What is better than a watch with some contrast? Nothing at all! The blue dial and blue bezel go perfectly with the high polished, stainless steel dial, to give buyers a watch that is versatile yet classic.

Some of the other qualities of the Superocean include water resistance up to 300M, a Caliber 17 movement ETA 2824 (Which is one of the toughest movements on the market), Mariner blue, bi-directional bezel.

Top Features

  • Mariner Blue Dial with large white numbers
  • High Polished stainless steel; all around the watch
  • Impeccable, 25 Jewel Swiss Chronometer movement

If you are willing to go slightly over the price point of 3,000. This is the watch for you!

Omega Men’s Seamaster Black Dial

Omega is another watchmaker who creates some great timepieces, that can be very pricey. Take the Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra for example, which costs way more than the Omega Men’s Seamaster Black Dial.

Let it be known, this Seamaster model has one of the most enduring looks in the Seamaster family. This watch is easily a favorite among Omega fanatics.

The watch has a case diameter of 41mm, with a rotating, low-profile ceramic bezel insert as well as a handsome black dial, are some of the top qualities of the Omega Seamaster.

A Modern Classic

As previously mentioned, the Rolex Submariner is a known powerhouse in the dive watch category for Rolex; as is the Seamaster for Omega. You simply cannot beat the durability, design, and versatility of this timepiece. Just as it can be worn for a sporty dive in the sea, it can also be worn in the most formal of events. This is a watch for a professional who also enjoys vacations and being adventurous!

Some other qualities that make the Omega Seamaster a unique and distinguished piece are the skeleton second and minute hands, charming 5-link bracelet and the impeccable durability.

Top Features

  • Upgraded, “looser”, Ceramic Bezel insert
  • 48-Hour Power Reserve
  • Extremely Tough and durable

Omega made a watch that is as formal and elegant, as is tough and sporty. The Omega Superocean literally hits on all cylinders.

Tudor Heritage Ranger Automatic

It was very necessary to add an “outlier” to today’s list. The Tudor Heritage Ranger Automatic is a watch that is not as well known, but functions well, is very durable, and makes a great dress watch.

Interesting enough, all the materials used to create the 41 mm stainless steel case, come from the same place as Rolex!  So for the price, you know you are getting insanely great quality. The Tudor Heritage has a military style look, combined with some features that usually identify a “dress watch”.  Simply oput, it is as rugged as is handsome.

The Tudor Heritage Ranger is in no way a flashy watch. It has a minimal look, with MAXIMUM features. Some favorite features of Heritage owners include; luminous hands, automatic movement with 38-hour power reserve, brown leather strap and the folding, slip through clasp.

Simple Design, with Amazing Quality

It’s not every day you see a watch in this price range using Rolex materials. With the Tudor Heritage, you can go to sleep at night knowing you have a durable and high-grade watch that goes beyond its name.

The Tudor Heritage is a perfect pick for those who enjoy watches that are simple. If durability is important, again, the Tudor is a great pick. Lastly, if you are looking for a true “Dress watch“, then look no further.

Top Features

  • Reliable, rotor, self-winding movement
  •  Rolex grade stainless steel case (don’t believe me, look it up)
  • High quality, brown leather strap, with extra green toned camouflage strap

Don’t count out Rolex’s sister brand. This is definitely a brand that many should do more research into, because they create some great watches, with accurate and reliable movements.

Henry Jay “Limited Edition” Specialty Aquamaster

One of the most attractive pieces is the last watch for the review today- the Henry Jay Aquamaster. Talk about last but not least.

Henry Jay is not one of the top contenders in the watch world. But don’t think that means they don’t create some legit timepieces. The two-toned specialty Aquamaster is a true beauty. 23K gold plating center link goes perfectly with the high polished stainless steel band and deep blue ceramic bezel with gold tick marks.

The Aquamaster has a handsome 42mm blue dial with gold hands and gold tick marks. A date window with a magnifying cyclops gives the Aquamaster a Rolex look to it. Overall, this LOOKS like a very expensive watch.

Owners swear by the quality of this watch. There are some complaints about the movement, that does not seem to keep time the best. It is equipped with an automatic, self-winding movement. But it is on the lower end of the spectrum in the review for reliability.

A Great Look, Affordable Price

Overall the Aquamaster is a good deal. You do not see many watches as beautiful as this, at such an affordable price point. If resetting the time quite often is not a huge deal, then this is a good pick.

A perfect watch for business, formal or casual environments. You will always find a reason to pull out the flashy Aquamaster. It will definitely be a conversation starter!

Top Features

  • Two-toned, 23K gold links
  • Luminescent, detailed hands
  • Attractive, blue dial

Thank you for reading the review today. Hopefully, we made your watch shopping experience easier and provided more clarity. Happy shopping!

Best Affordable Seiko Watches

We know that watches are important. Perhaps looking at them every few minutes makes the work day drag a bit faster? However, good watches can also be quite expensive. You don’t want to purchase a Rolex if it means spending your life savings. Likewise, you don’t want to buy a cheap, unreliable watch that somehow never seems to tick!

I am here to solve this problem. Today, this watch lover will be looking into the best SEIKO watches that are under $200! My goal is to find you a Seiko that meets your criteria for design and style, durability and of course, price!

The Best Watch Overall

Instead of having you read every single word that I have typed up (although it would be great for you to do so), I am going to make it easy for you and let in you on the best watch you can buy! The Seiko 5 SNK793 is a GREAT automatic watch, with a sleek, formal, and simple design, and it just happens to be EXTREMELY affordable! Read on to find all of the other great watches by Seiko!

Top Affordable Seiko Watch Why It’s Awesome Affordability Rating
Seiko 5 SNK793 Automatic Corrosion-resistant stainless steel build, beautiful design, BEST value ★★★★★

Seiko 5 “Diver Style” Dive Watch design, 100m water resistance, very durable ★★★★
Seiko 5 Field Watch Rugged, durable design, automatic movement, military grade ★★★★
Seiko SNKN01 Unique design, brown leather strap, large 43.5mm dial ★★★★
Seiko SGF204 Two-Toned Two-toned, gold bracelet, crisp white dial, large date window ★★★

Best Affordable Seiko Watch

Seiko 5 SNK793 Automatic

This is a great looking, comfortable and automatic timepiece. What looks even better? The price tag!

The reason this watch is ranked number one today lies deep within, hidden under the dial. Yep, I’m talking about the movement. It is not every day that you can find an automatic, 21-jewel timepiece for such a great price. Current owners boast that “nothing in the price range can compete with this watch!” And I second that statement. As an avid watch collector, I am exposed to watches with expertly crafted movements all the time. In no way is the Seiko 5 SNK793 movement spectacular, but for the affordability of this timepiece, it gets the job done and continues to function throughout continued use. Just make sure to wind your movement every few days, to keep the watch functioning properly!

A True “Steal”

When accounting for the simplistic, yet attractive design, the amazing movement, and the durability of this piece, it is easy to see why I say it’s a “steal!” Just know you cannot go wrong with the look: stainless steel bracelet, dark blue dial with a 36mm case, and a large date window that displays the day of the week and number.

Top Features

  • 21 Jewel, automatic movement
  • Dark blue dial
  • Polished, stainless steel bracelet

Seiko 5 “Diver Style”

Those who love the look of dive watches will appreciate this piece!

A great watch by Seiko that is as nice looking as it is durable. It is considered a diver style watch– it has the aesthetics of a diver watch, but not the workings. It has a water resistance of up to 100m. True divers are at least 200m.

Despite not being a true diver, the watch is still great! It features a 42mm case, with a dark black dial. It also has an aluminum unidirectional bezel and a hardlex crystal for increased durability.

A Dive Look, With a Low Price

Ironically, many dive watch prices are flying over many watch seekers’ price points. Well, you almost have what you need here. The Seiko 5 “Diver Style” is definitely suitable for swimming and light snorkeling. Just please, don’t go pull out the wetsuit!

Top Features

  • Beautiful dial and case
  • Push button deploy clasp and safety lock
  • Water resistance up to 100m

Seiko 5 Field Watch SNZG15

Field watches are great for everyday wear, due to the rugged design meant for durability. And you can bet that the Seiko field watch is a great choice!

The Seiko SNZG15 is a great choice for those on a budget and those who put their watches through more than just “wear and tear.” Field watches are known for being durable. This watch features a tough nylon band with a strong hardlex crystal protecting the dial. Not to mention the 42mm stainless steel case that is built to handle drops, bumps, bangs, and anything in between.

A Watch Curated for The Hulk

We all know good old Bruce Banner was on a tight budget. Also, any clothes he wore got destroyed whenever he was angry. Seems counterintuitive. Oh well. If the Hulk truly did exist, this would probably be his go-to. Not only is it very affordable, but it is the definition of durable. I just told you all the durable features of this watch, but WAIT! There’s more! You can also go swimming in this watch because it has a water resistance up to 100m! I think we all know which watch takes the gold in the durability category.

Top Features

  • Robust, nylon bracelet
  • Automatic movement
  • Luminescent dial (VERY bright in the dark)

Seiko SNKN01

The Seiko SNKNO1 was added to this review because of it’s unique look. And the great price of course!

With the Seiko SNKN01, you are getting a watch that is a bit different than the others reviewed today. For one, the squared, cushion shape adds a unique, but luxurious look. The case is large, at 43.5mm, and features a sunray blue dial protected by a hardlex dial window.  The distressed leather band is also durable, but also gives the watch more of a fashionable look.

Now like I mentioned-this watch is large. It is more suitable for someone with a large wrist. But once you own it, you will never want to take it off. It is comfortable enough to wear every day, and stylish enough to wear to formal events or business meetings.

Out of The Ordinary

Who really needs a round shaped watch anymore? Cushioned shaped watches are all the rage! While that statement may not be completely true, it is to some degree. To those who want a different look, one that stands out: this is your watch.  The large display makes it so this watch is easily seen by anyone who glances your way. Anyways, don’t just listen to me. You can find many happy owners who rave about this watch on Amazon.

Top Features

  • Cushion-shaped, large, stainless steel case
  • Beautiful sunburst blue dial
  • Automatic, self-winding movement

Seiko SGF204 Two-Toned

I am in love with the design and look of this watch. I know it is “copying” the two-tonedRolex Datejust, but not everyone can afford a Rolex.

Seiko did a great job when designing this watch. It truly looks like a high-grade, expensive watch at a more than affordable price.  The great-sized stainless steel 35mm case perfectly complements the two-toned silver and gold link bracelet. What enhances the look is definitely the gold coin-edged bezel that exemplifies what a luxury watch looks like.

What I am not so happy about in regards to this watch is the movement. This is the only watch on today’s review that is a quartz movement. Not that quartz watches are terrible, but if you want to appreciate the skill it takes to create a mechanical movement, you’ll see why battery powered quartz cannot compete.

A Rolex Look at a Low Price

Some people will be upset that this watch looks similar to a Rolex. Others will be extremely happy that this watch looks like a Rolex because it is much more affordable.

Overall the Seiko SGF204 is nothing short of beautiful. Everything from the light, shiny silver dial, to the polished two-toned bracelet. Even the Seiko name looks great on this watch. It is beautifully etched into the top of the dial and proudly displays the Seiko brand name.

Top Features

  • Gold, coin edged bezel
  • Two-toned, silver and gold link bracelet with fold over clasp
  • THE PRICE

The Final Word

I apologize in advance if my review led you to purchase every watch that I mentioned. That was not on my agenda; I’m trying to save you money!

The review was created to display Seiko watches, under $200, that are actually worth it. This means that the timepieces are durable, accurate, and have good-looking designs.  Although I have a love for every watch on this review, I have to pick a best watch. When accounting for value, price, durability, comfort, design, and movement, there is no question that the Seiko 5 SNK793 Automatic is the best decision.

The Decision Is Yours

So which watch is it going to be? Are you going for the classic look? Is the dive style watch a must buy in your opinion? No matter what you choose, I am sure you will be happy with any watch that you decide to purchase. All of these watches have been approved by myself (the watch master) as well as MANY happy customers on Amazon.

Keep in mind, when purchasing a watch at any price point, make sure you buy from a reliable source. You do not want to risk getting scammed or purchasing a watch with no warranty. Use a reliable marketplace like Amazon so you don’t have to worry about any issues.

As always everyone, happy watch shopping! I hope I can help you pick the perfect watch that is in your budget!

The Best Freediving Watches for 2019

Best Freediving Watch

Dive watches are not only big in the Scuba market. These are timepieces that have become extremely desirable in the last few years.  Beautiful, high-class dive watches have been around for decades, like the Rolex Submariner for example. There is no doubt that watches like the Submariner are TOP NOTCH timepieces, however, I will not be reviewing the “luxury” dive watches today. Sorry Rolex fans!

Today, I will be focused on more affordable freediving watches. More specifically, the watches being reviewed today can almost be called computers. Read on to find out why the SUUNTO D6I is today’s ultimate winner and holds the title of the BEST freediving watch of 2019!

Top Freediving Watches What Makes it Great Diver Rating
Suunto D6I Tilt-compensated 3D compass, wireless air integration. Overall the technology is great with a clean design ★★★★★

Garmin Descent Mk1 Futuristic desgin, great value, dive log up to 200 dives ★★★★
Suunto Zoop Novo Affordable, easy to use, large screen ★★★★
SuuntoD9Tx Trimix support, three dive modes, continuous decompression ★★★★
Dive Watch By Pyle VERY affordable, more classic dive watch design, multiple color ways ★★★

Best Freediving Watches

Suunto D6I Dive Computer Watch

If durability, design, technology and specific “dive features” are important to you (they better be), this is the perfect watch for you!

Suunto is a brand that may not be mainstream (yet). But they are definitely increasing popularity. And for a very good reason, they create great, innovative timepieces.

The D6I Novo Zulu captures features a textile strap, which is built for strength and durability. This NATO strap was originally designed for military use! To ensure extra protection, the D6I is built with a high grade, steel case, and a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal. An awesome feature is also the logging, video, and image capturing abilities of the D6I. Once you take the image or video, you can easily sync to Suunto DM5 software, so you can share your underwater adventures with the world!

Robust “All Around” Dive Watch

Why the Suunto D6I is the best dive watch for 2019, in my opinion, is because of its all-around features. Not only do you get extreme durability, but also advanced technological features, a nice design and loads of other useful perks. These perks make the watch a PERFECT choice for any professional diver as well as those who dive as a hobby. The D6I hands down has the most dive modes and features to ensure a smooth dive every time.

Top Features

  • Durable, army-style textile Zulu strap
  • Camera and Video options to sync with a computer
  • Great Design
  • Recommended for Freediving and Scuba diving
  • 5 Modes: Air, Nitrox, Free Dive, Gauge and Watch
  • Wireless air integration
  • Best for breath hold training

Garmin Descent MK1

Garmin is a brand that many people know about. They produce high-quality tech gear and did not disappoint with the MK1 Diver.

The MK1 is an innovative masterpiece. Garmin has merged a technologically advanced smartwatch look, with the durability and some physical features of a typical dive watch.  If this is a watch you decide to purchase, know that it has great reviews from current owners and is known to last for a very long time.

Innovative Diver

With the MK1 you are receiving a watch with a full-featured GPS, a fully functional  Bühlmann ZHL-16c algorithm that ensures you stay within your dive limits and a heart rate monitor that keeps track of your heart rate throughout your whole dive. The watch was designed for serious divers who take the sport seriously and want a RELIABLE and BEAUTIFUL device to tag along through every journey they encounter. You will always be confident where you are with the reliable GPS feature, so you will not have to worry about getting lost at sea.

Top Features

  • ABC sensor capabilities (altimeter, barometer, and compass)
  • Elevate wrist-based heart rate technology
  • Futuristic look with high-quality materials

Suunto Zoop Novo

The Zoop Novo is not as flashy as the other watches being reviewed today. But do not let that count this one out, it is powerful.

Isn’t the name in itself just fun? Imagine telling people what kind of watch you are wearing.

“Hey man, what kind of watch is that?”

“Oh, just a Zoop Novo dive watch by Suunto!”

It sounds straight out of a fictional cartoon story, so you know this has some interesting features to it. For one, you are not limited by color. With 4+ colors to choose from, you are sure to find a color that fits your underwater personality. Even better is the Zoop Nova is affordable. This is a diver that does not break the bank. Easily flip through the five-dive modes (Air, Nitrox, Gauge, Free and Off) while smiling because you were able to save money with this purchase!

Simple and Easy to Use

When hundreds of feet under the great abyss, you can be easily distracted by a watch with hundreds of buttons and features. Not with the Zoop Novo. The simple interface has 4 buttons that control the whole watch. Readability of the dial is also simple, with a bright backlight display, that is meant to be read in the darkest of areas. So although the Zoop Novo does not have the most innovative and advanced features like other watches on the list today, it is a watch that will function with ease.

It is a nightmare when you are one hundred feet under the ocean and struggling to get your watch to function properly. With the Zoop Novo, it is as easy as a push of a button.

Top Features

  • Easy use/simple design
  • Long lasting battery life
  • Multiple colorways

Suunto D9TX

Wow! A lot of Suunto watches made the list today! Time to find out what makes the D9TX a great choice!

Anyone who glances at this watch will be intrigued. The full body, titanium design is as durable as it looks. Add the protective sapphire crystal and you got yourself a durable watch. Even the bracelet on this watch is titanium. It was literally built with strength in mind. I am pretty sure it was tested out on Bruce Banner while he was angry…..

Other than the beautiful physical features, there are also great aspects that are inside of the watch.  You can easily plan or log any dive straight from your PC or Mac. A full continuous decompression algorithm is installed to ensure a safe dive every time you take a dive. And this watch even has a tilt compensated 3D-compass.

Strong and Complex

No, I’m not describing a Bourbon whiskey; save that for after you purchase a watch!

It is easy to fall in love with this watch by sight. The watch is bright, shiny and made for any type of dive. The titanium build sets this watch apart from many of its counterparts. Titanium gives the watch a futuristic, yet lustrous look. This may be one of the more pricey of watches being reviewed today, but if you like the design and materials more than the others; than there is nothing wrong with purchasing the D9TX. Current owners are MORE than happy with their watch. It is not easy to find negative reviews about the D9TX, simply because it is a great watch.

Top Features

  • Titanium case and bracelet with an anti-reflective sapphire crystal
  • 5 modes to choose from while freediving (Air, Trimix, Free Dive, Gauge and Watch)
  • 3D compass with wireless air integration
  • Recommended for advanced freedivers in the commercial or technical diving
  • Memory up to 80 hours

Dive Watch By Pyle

The Dive Watch by Pyle definitely has a more “classic” dive watch look to it, rather than the dive computer style.

Now, to be honest, this watch was added to today’s review because of its INSANE affordability. You are losing many features because of the cheaper price point, however, it is still a notable mention against the other watches.

The bezel on this piece looks exactly like one on a Submariner.  What is different on this dive watch is the rubber band and its digital features.

This watch has a built-in stopwatch, thermometer, countdown timer, and has multiple time zones. It also has an automatic dive mode that sets in when in depths of more than 5 feet.

A Functional Watch at a Great Price

You get what you pay for. That is exactly what I say to describe the dive watch by Pyle. It is a decent dive watch that has multiple colors and designs to choose from and many digital features for diving. Is it the MOST reliable watch? No, not at all. But for the insanely great price you pay, it is what you should expect. If only it worked like a Rolex….

Go with Pyle if you are a new diver and want to try out how dive watches work, to see if they are helpful for you. After that you can move up to the big leagues!

Top Features

  • The amazing price
  • Automatic dive mode
  • Multiple colors to choose from/ Good to wear out, other than just for diving

Final Verdict

Freediving watches, or more appropriately, freediving COMPUTERS, are very important devices for serious divers. If you plan on diving professionally, or for fun, it is always a good idea to have a trusty dive watch. My review today was to show some of the BEST freediving watches of 2019, of all different styles and price points.

Any watch you decide to purchase should fit your needs if you look closely at all the features that the watch includes. At the end of the day, my suggestion would be to go with Suunto D6I. But hey, who am I, I’m just a watch fanatic. The final decision is up to YOU!

Buy From a Reliable Source

Always remember when buying a watch online, especially ones with higher values. Buy from a trustworthy marketplace like Amazon. I hope I was able to make your search for the perfect freediving watch easier today. Happy watch shopping my friends!

Best Vibrating Alarm Watch: Discrete Reminders Right From Your Wrist

Are you that deep of a sleeper that standard alarm clocks are not effective anymore? Perhaps, you are someone who is hard of hearing? Or you just want to be notified in private for things like appointments, medication and more, without disturbing anyone? Well, it looks like you could use the best vibrating alarm watch.

The concept of a vibrating alarm watch can be quite foreign or even downright pointless for many people. When you think about it, it’s actually a pretty neat concept. Deep sleepers can use these timepieces to wake them up without disturbing their companion. Hearing impaired folks will have a reliable way to remind themselves by wearing these alarm watches. Or you just want to be stealthily notified with regards to things like appointments, meetings, deadlines, and even just your favorite TV show.

When looking for the ideal vibrating alarm watches, they need to be well-made, durable, stylish and packed with other relevant features. With that said, our top pick is the Casio Men’s W735H-1AVCF Super Illuminator Watch for its functional features, durability, rugged design and great price. It’s hard to go wrong with this watch but if you are looking for more options, I have handpicked a couple of models just for you.

Best Vibrating Watches

1. Casio Men’s W735H-1AVCF Super Illuminator Watch

The Casio Men’s W735H-1AVCF Super Illuminator Watch is my top pick for the best vibrating alarm watch. This is a tough vibrating watch that delivers in terms of features. Plus, it’s a great option for the budget-conscious.

Why is it the top pick?

Durable and Rugged Design

It’s always best to invest in a timepiece that is both functional and durable. The Casio W735H-1AVCF is made of 44 mm resin case which provides solid durability while keeping things lightweight. The ribbed wristband is quite flexible and is made from resin as well. It also comes with a standard buckle clasp for securing the watch to your wrist. Like most watches of this kind, the band can be easily replaced.

Wrapped around the mineral dial window is the stationery resin bezel. The mineral dial window is fairly scratch-resistant but do not expect that it’s as strong as models with sapphire crystal window. The watch has a fairly large window and the digital display is easy to read. The watch is also water resistant and I didn’t have to take it off when showering.

Overall, in terms of durability and ruggedness, the Casio W735H-1AVCF delivers.

Stylish

Right off the bat, you can see that this the Casio W735H-1AVCF is a stylish watch. The large dial and the masculine lines make it a good choice for daily casual wear and mild sporting activities.

Timekeeping Features

Although it’s not the most feature-packed timepiece available, the W735H-1AVCF Super Illuminator Watch has enough bells and whistles for accurate timekeeping. There’s the second time zone feature that can be added if you’re a traveler. There’s also a stopwatch that provides 1/100 sec through 24-hour functions. Other features include 12/24-hour timekeeping and automatic calendar.

Of course, I have to mention the vibration alarm feature which happens to be my favorite function. It’s a great feature for discretely receiving reminders or any other things that you set an alarm for. The vibration is not the strongest but I have used it for quick naps with good results.

Budget Friendly

At this price, you’ll be hard-pressed to find a durable vibrating alarm watch with a decent list of features. The 10-year battery life could also mean that you’ll have this watch for a long time. With that in mind, this is the main reason why it’s my top pick for the best vibrating alarm watch. The W735H-1AVCF Super Illuminator Watch offers good value for your money.

Drawbacks

As mentioned, the Casio W735H-1AVCF watch doesn’t have the strongest vibration. The watch worked for light naps but I won’t recommend it for waking up in the morning or for deep sleepers. Another downer is that you can only set a single alarm for the day. Other similar watches can set multiple alarms for the day.

The band is also far from the best as they may break sooner than you might expect. For some people, the plastic strap can also be uncomfortable.

2. Timex Men’s T49851 Expedition Vibration Alarm Black Resin Strap Watch

Best if you want a mid-range option:

If you are looking for a vibrating alarm watch with more features and a stronger vibration, the Timex Men’s T49851 Expedition Vibration Alarm Black Resin Strap Watch is a good alternative to the top pick. It has a great list of features and is ideal for outdoor activities.

Features

For a slightly more expensive model, the Timex T49851 Expedition Watch sure comes with great features. It has that classic Timex look with a widely versatile appeal. The rugged design and durable construction makes it an ideal timepiece for everyday wear. The display is clear and easy to read. It looks great and can withstand tough daily wear-and-tear.

The watch comes with timekeeping features such as 100-hour chronograph, 24-hour countdown timer, dual mode alarm, hydration alarm, Indiglo night mode and more. It’s also water-resistant up to 330 ft. As for its key feature, you’ll be pleased to know that the Timex T49851 Expedition Watch features strong vibrations. That’s right, this is perfect for waking up in the morning without disturbing your companion.

For the reasonable price range, the Timex T49851 Expedition Watch is an easy recommendation if you want a model with a wide range of features and strong vibration alarm.

Drawbacks

The resin strap can break in a couple of years. Fortunately, you can easily replace the straps with little to no difficulty. Also, the strap isn’t the most comfortable especially for extended use. Lastly, the user interface is not the most intuitive which makes programming the watch is a bit tricky.

3. VibraLITE 8 – Vibrating Reminder Watch

Best if you want a dedicated alarm watch:

The VibraLITE 8 – Vibrating Reminder Watch with Black Silicone Strap is a good pick if you’re looking for a dedicated for a model that is built around the vibrating alarm feature. It features a slick, sporty aesthetic and an easy to use interface which is great for those who are looking for a dedicated alarm watch.

Features

The VibraLITE 8 Watch is about as straightforward as you can get when it comes to vibrating alarm watches. I love the minimalist look. The oversized, clear, digital display lets you know the information you need at first glance. This timepiece is a breeze to program and I had it running just moments out of the box. I have been wearing the VibraLITE 8 for the longest time and I’ve come to appreciate the no-nonsense approach.

The best thing about the VibraLITE 8 is that you can set up to 8 alarms daily. Each alarm lasts up to 20 seconds and can be easily turned off by pressing any button. This is a great feature and I’ve used it to remind myself of things like taking medications or drinking a glass of water for hydration. You can toggle to use vibrations or sound (beeps). There are also the standard countdown timer and stopwatch features.

Drawbacks

The VibraLITE 8 is not exactly cheap as it retails for more than others on this page. Also, the nightlight doesn’t do a very good job of illuminating the watch. I really struggled using the watch at night and you need to view it from a certain angle. Lastly, it could definitely use a bump in terms of durability because it felt rather flimsy at times.

4. WobL 8 Alarm Vibrating Reminder Watch

Best if you want kid-friendly watch:

The WobL 8 Alarm Vibrating Reminder Watch is a solid timepiece for kids and small adults. Its features allow a great deal of versatility so you can use it for potty reminders, hearing and visually impaired, timed medication, ADHD/ADD, and more.

Features

The WobL Watch is touted to be the smallest vibrating alarm watch and I agree. The watch has a small profile with a sporty look – perfect for kids. The watch features 8 individual alarms which can be toggled to vibrate, sound or both. The vibration is quite strong and the beep is not distracting. The vibration settings are a nice touch but it’s nothing too extensive. The vibrating alarm is a great way to keep your children stay on top of their tasks.

The WobL Watch also features a countdown timer which has a useful auto-reset feature. There is also the stopwatch mode which works as advertised. The lockout feature enables you to lock the settings and make sure that your kid doesn’t make any accidental changes. Lastly, the watch is 3 ATM Water resistant which is good for the occasional accidental splashing but not for prolonged submersion.

Drawbacks

The first thing that comes to mind is that the watch is not easy to program. The interface can be rather unwieldy so make sure you don’t lose the manual. Once you get the hang of it, programming this watch should be a cinch. Battery life is also disappointing as my unit’s battery only lasted about 3 months. That’s not a problem if battery replacement isn’t so tedious which requires you to remove five very small screws.

5. Fitbit Charge HR, Blaze, Iconic and (Fitbit Charge 3)

Charge 3

Charge 2

The Fitbit watches go well beyond simply vibrating and some do it better than others. They track calories, steps, heart rate and integrates with the Fitbit App to provide amazing reports of your progress.

The Fitbit Charge 3 is the newest of the family and it is unclear how strong the vibration will be. The Fitbit Charge 2 had pretty weak vibrations, generating many complaints from customers that they weren’t being wakened by the watch and sometimes weren’t aware of incoming texts.

The original Fitbit Charge HR has a nice strong vibration.

However, the Fitbit Iconic and Fitbit Blaze both have strong vibration capability. You’ll have to research the other features to actually choose one based on the smart-watch and fitness related capabilities. But that’s the scoop on vibration.

Iconic

Blaze

These watches are on our list because the multi-functionality makes for a cost-effective purchase when you can avoid the cost separate health trackers and get a nice watch in the process.

Features

  • The PurePulse feature is always on tracking heart rate to inform your calorie metabolism
  • Integration with calendars and smartphone incoming texts and calls
  • Vibrating alarm
  • Nighttime sleep monitoring
  • GPS to provide accurate location, route and distance data for fitness training and analytics
  • Wireless connection to both iPhone and Android smartphones
  • Many variations of physical activity monitoring like steps, floors climbed and calories burned

Drawbacks

The one primary downside of this watch is the cost. It delivers a great deal of functionality in its price tag and small form, but it is pricey if you really only need a vibrating alarm watch.

6. Timex Expedition Grid Shock Watch

The Timex Expedition Grid Shock Watch is about twice as expensive as the Expedition Classic but has some great additional features.

The watch is built tough and is a work-horse in and out of the elements.

Features

The Expedition Grid Shock watch is first of all, shockproof (technically, shock resistant). It has a stainless steel top plate.

While it does vibrate it also has a stopwatch, countdown timer, and will drop you hydration alerts.

The large screen makes it very easy to read all the numbers, and the characters themselves have very crisp definition.

The time and other settings can be adjusted both forward and backward, so you don’t have to cycle all the way around if you don’t stop on the right number.

Drawback

This watch can be scratched rather easily since the bevel isn’t elevated much above the face of the watch. This can be fixed with a screen protector which doesn’t come with the watch. Better to get the protector on soon after you buy so you don’t regret it later.

7. G-SHOCK Men’s GD 350 Watch

The G-SHOCK Men’s GD 350 Watch is another super tough watch. It is actually rated for more shock resistance than the Expedition Grid watch above and is water resistant to 200 meters depth.

Features

The G-SHOCK lights up at night and has a large clear viewport for the daytime.

It boasts a world clock which can be set for any of the world’s time zones.

Up to 4 different daily alarms may be set and the alarms can announce themselves in different ways. For example, one might be a vibration alarm, another a specific sound or light.

The watch has a batter life of 5 years so you won’t be changing it any time soon.

Drawbacks

There is very little negative to say about this watch. Some have complained the vibration didn’t wake them up, but most people are very happy with the vibration strength.

If you only need an alarm watch and aren’t going to be taking your wrist into challenging physical environments, then the Casio or Expedition may be for you.

The Bottom Line

The best vibrating alarm watch is a great tool to help you stay on top of your tasks or just make sure you don’t get late for work. For my top recommendation, the Casio Men’s W735H-1AVCF Super Illuminator Watch is definitely worth checking out for its durable and rugged design, a good set of features and budget-friendly price. However, if you find that my top pick doesn’t meet your needs, feel free to consider my other vibrating alarm watch picks.
