Best Citizen Eco-Drive Watches

best citizen eco-drive watch

Citizen is one of those brands that have been around for a LOOONG time but does not get that much press. Citizen dates back as far as 1924 when they created a pocket watch. Despite a lack of publicity, Citizen creates some great, affordable watches, that focus on design and technology.

Today, we will be reviewing the Eco-Drive models by Citizen. These watches operate with light; natural or artificial. So the batteries never need to be replaced. The Eco-Drive watches are long-lasting, durable timepieces, and are a great buy for any watch lover. The Citizen Eco-Drive Silvertone And Black World Time A-T  is hands down the most appealing, and the best Citizen Eco-drive watch. If you are on the market for an interesting watch, look no further than the Eco-Drive models. Another TOP choice, is the Eco-Drive Satellite. This watch has so many special additions that set it apart from every other watch that I will be reviewing today.

Citizen Men’s Eco-Drive Chronograph Watch

best citizen eco-drive watch

The beautiful and well-designed chronograph by Citizen is one of the best-reviewed Eco-Drive watches on the market. You are first greeted with large, stainless steel, 48mm case. I am not a huge fan of large cases on watches, but with all of the complexities inside of the dial on this one, it is a necessity.

I love the light silver dial, it perfectly complements the dark black, 3 inner calenders, tick marks, and a beautifully polished silver bezel and bracelet.

Highlights of this watch are definitely in the design. Of course, like all Eco-drive watches, the movement is controlled by light. Where this watch really shines (no pun intended) is the beautiful dial. The three black subdials feature 24 hour time, 1/10th seconds, and even a time zone feature. The power reserve on this bad boy is 270 days and it even has a built-in alarm.

Recommendation

If large-faced watches and complex designs are your forte; then this watch is for you! If large cases are not typically your thing, I would still try out this watch. For a large watch, it looks great.

In no way is this a normal watch. You can wear it with just about anything and it is sure to stimulate some great conversations! I recommend the Eco-Drive Chronograph to those who want a little more than your “average watch.”

Citizen Eco-Drive Stainless Steel Axiom

best citizen eco-drive watch

Here we have a unique, futuristic-looking watch. This timepiece holds the same light-driven quartz movement, but just looks so much cooler!

The Axiom has a 40mm stainless steel case; a perfect size in my opinion.  And a great looking, dark black dial. The black dial has only a chrome, underlined Citizen logo, think silver hands, a single 12 o clock hour marker, and a small date window on the right. The simplicity of this watch is what makes it so desirable.

Owners of this stylish timepiece claim that it is durable (up to 99ft water resistance) functional and beautiful. You can be sure to pull this watch out no matter what outfit you plan on wearing.

Recommendation

I recommend this watch to those who have a taste for contemporary design. It is a timepiece that can be worn with just about anything, due to the simple design. Make this your everyday watch and I guarantee you it will garner some awesome compliments.

I can see this watch on the wrist of our futurists, scientists, and people with a love for fashion and innovation.

Citizen Eco-Drive Dress Watch

best citizen eco-drive watch

Simple, durable and extremely affordable are adjectives that describe the Citizen Eco-Drive Dress timepiece.

The case has a diameter of 41mm. I typically love the 40mm cases, but a 1mm larger size does not change much, and actually looks better on those with larger wrists. The textured black dial is protected by an anti-reflective, sapphire crystal. What makes the value of this watch so great, is the high-quality materials used within this timepiece.

Recommendation

This is a watch for those who like classic watches. Nothing about the design is complex, it is simply a nice watch. You can perfectly pair this timepiece with any business or dress attire, but it also makes a great everyday watch due to the durability and clean design.

Citizen Eco-Drive BM6552-52E

The Eco-Drive model BM6552-52E is a great mention due to all of the happy owners. It is hard to find a negative review on this watch, and for a very good reason.

This is YOUR watch if you have a smaller wrist. The case diameter is 32mm. The rectangular design prevents the watch from looking “too small,” and honestly overall it is a great size and weight for any wrist (unless you are a champion arm wrestler that is).

The watch is built with a gold-tone, stainless steel case with a seriously nice black dial.  Your eyes are drawn to the dial with each tick from the gold second hand passing the luxurious gold “diamond” looking hour placeholders.

You get the light-powered  Eco-Drive Caliber E111 Japanese-quartz movement, with a power reserve up to 180 days! Once the battery begins to get low, the watch actually warns you that its time to charge. And unless you are a vampire, charging this watch shouldn’t be difficult.

Recommendation

Not everyone is into smaller, square-shaped cases. So this watch is not for everyone. But once you see this watch in person, you can appreciate its beauty. Because this watch has a unique design and great features (like a hardened mineral crystal to prevent scratches) I definitely recommend this watch. This timepiece tends to look great with dress attire, but wear it as you choose! I’m sure you’ll be happy with it though!

Citizen Eco-Drive Promaster Diver Watch

An Eco-Drive dive watch? No way!

best citizen eco-drive watch

You gotta appreciate what Citizen did here. They took a classic dive watch, implemented unique light-power technology, and market it at an AMAZINGLY affordable price!

A problem many dive watch enthusiasts have, who do not have the budget to purchase a Rolex or other expensive automatic movements, hate having to change the batteries on their dive watches. The Citizen Promaster dive makes that problem a thing of the past.

Highlights of this watch include, up to 200m of water resistance (an ISO-certified dive watch), a durable, 48mm stainless-steel case, and a comfortable polyurethane band.

Those who are against the polyurethane, rubbery look, can easily swap out the band for a stainless steel band at any time.

Recommendation

Dive watch lovers, rejoice! The Citizen Promaster is a great choice for an intermediate dive watch. The price point is unbeatable, and the parts used on this watch are top-notch. If you are on the market for a dive watch, you should consider a Citizen Promaster!

Citizen Eco-Drive Satellite

best citizen eco-drive watch

Those who have read my reviews before, know how much I love watches. More specifically how much I love, high-quality, automatic watches. Now the Eco-Drive Satellite may not have an automatic movement, but oh my do I love this watch.

This watch is STUNNING. A 43.5mm stainless steel case fits the complex and beautiful qualities inside of the dial. The dial is dark black, with large silver hands.

Wait until you hear all of the functionalities of this watch. A bi-directional rotating dial makes it so you can tell the time in ANY time zone. It also has a built-in, RX-GPS function. Some say it takes a minute or two to get started, but once it does it is FULLY FUNCTIONAL and a great addition to this timepiece.

Recommendation

THIS WATCH IS AMAZING. The technologies used in this watch make it worth the slightly higher price point. Not only is the watch beautiful, but it is functional, unique and of course, never needs batteries. A perfect watch for vacations and long road trips. You will definitely be happy with the Satellite!

Citizen Eco-Drive Silvertone And Black World Time A-T

best citizen eco-drive watch

Last, but certainly not least, we have the Eco-Drive World Time A-T by Citizen.

With so much going on inside of the PERFECTLY sized, 42mm stainless-steel guilloche dial. You are sure to find a feature or two on this watch that you absolutely love. The band is made of strong titanium with a comfortable fold-over clasp. It very well may be the most comfortable Eco-Drive watch by Citizen.

Never be behind on time with this watch. You have the day of the week, radio powered time zone feature, time (with great accuracy), and 12/24 timekeeping sub-dial all in one watch. What makes things even better is the watch is water-resistant up to 200m. It is SO CLOSE to being considered a dive watch.

Recommendation

The watch speaks for itself. At first glance, you are appalled by all of the complexities of the dial. The polished titanium case and bracelet keep the watch looking bold and professional. Expect this to be your EVERYDAY watch. It is so beautiful and durable, you don’t ever have to worry about damaging this amazing and affordable timepiece.

Eco-Drive Watches Final Verdict

You can not get a better bang for your buck than with the Eco-Drive watches. Not many watches implement such innovative technologies, with attractive designs while maintaining an affordable price point. Those who are seeking HIGH-QUALITY watches can obtain just that with the Eco-Drive models.

Owners of these watches RAVE about the accuracy, durability, and quality, making any Eco-Drive watch a great choice. It is not easy to find negative feedback anywhere on the web, people LOVE Eco-Drive timepieces! When deciding which watch to purchase, make sure you choose a trustworthy website like Amazon.

Best Military Watch

1. Casio G-Shock GW-9400 Rangeman Solar Atomic

Best Military Watch

The Casio G-Shock GW-9400 Rangeman Solar Atomic was the top pick for our list of the best G-Shock for the military. The GW-9400 Rangeman is an easy top-pick due to its masterclass durability, reliability, and a number of tactical features.

One G to Rule Them All

The GW-9400 Rangeman proved to be a very popular model in the “Master of G” series. Firstly, any military personnel and outdoorsmen will love the Triple Sensor feature which means it offers a thermometer, barometer, and compass.

Whether you’re in the deserts of Afghanistan or out in the mountains of Peru, the GW-9400 will allow you to accurately track the time and determine your position. It’s an Atomic Timekeeping watch which means that accuracy is not an issue regardless of your global position. It’s also solar-powered which means that you don’t have to worry about running out of battery.

Ease of use is also excellent when it comes to the GW-9400 Rangeman. Each function is assigned with a different tone. Once you’ve familiarized yourself with the beeps, you’ll be able to operate the watch without even looking.

What makes this model the best military watch is its durability and reliability. Trust me when I say that this is one of the toughest watches you’ll ever own. I’m quite an avid outdoorsman and this watch has yet to give me any problems.

It’s an incredible military watch that offers amazing value.

2. Suunto Traverse Alpha

Best Military Watch

Whether you’re in the military, law enforcement, or an outdoor junkie, the Suunto Traverse Alpha is one of the best outdoor watches that you can get.

For Going Over the Track Less Traveled

The Suunto Traverse Alpha is a GPS watch that offers a ridiculous number of cool features.

The built-in GPS is not just one of the best in terms of accuracy, it supports GLONASS navigation as well. For members of the armed forces, they can easily find out the coordinates of their current location. It also supports MGRS (Military Grid Reference System) coordinates which is a standard used by NATO armed forces.

Setting up routes and waypoints is also a breeze and you can even import routes in various formats such as KML and GPX. The ability to set up waypoints and routes can help you tremendously when patrolling or hunting. The Automatic Shot Detection feature detects whenever a shot is fired and the coordinates are saved as a waypoint for future reference.

Military folks will also love the addition of features such as altimeter, compass, barometer, thermometer, moon phase calendar, and a backlight that’s actually visible with night vision goggles. As you might expect, this is one tough timepiece, thanks to its sapphire crystal glass and knurled stainless steel bezel.

It’s the ultimate outdoor timepiece for military members and outdoor enthusiasts alike.

3. Garmin Tactix Bravo

Best Military Watch

The Garmin Tactix Bravo is another sophisticated GPS watch that’s highly recommended for members of the military forces. Tracking and navigation are the highlights of this piece.

Field-Ready Timepiece

The Garmin Tactix Bravo GPS was originally designed to be a watch for members of law enforcement.

The all-black, non-reflective design is clearly catering to the specifications of a tactical operative. The 1.2-inch Garmin Chroma Display is quite a beauty on its own, and you can easily use it day and night because it features night vision goggle compatibility.

The GPS technology of the Tactix Bravo also deserves praise. Setting up waypoints while in the field is about as it gets with this GPS watch. The GPS Coordinate Data Page is also MGRS supported.

This is also a full-featured ABC watch which means that it comes with an altimeter, barometer, and compass. Garmin did a great job with the compass as it’s very accurate, especially when compared to similar models. The altimeter provides real-time elevation data which helps in determining your exact position. The TracBack is a neat feature that enables you to navigate back to your starting position with ease.

The stainless steel bezel and buttons and 3-ring nylon straps are just some of the elements that make the Tactix Bravo a reliable outdoor watch. The only downside is that it’s quite on the expensive side.

4. Luminox 3051 EVO Navy SEAL Colormark

Best Military Watch

When it comes to the best military watch, you don’t have to take my word for it. However, if you want a model that’s actually recommended by the experts, you will want to check out the Luminox 3051 EVO Navy SEAL Colormark.

Recommended by US SEALs and Pilots

That’s right, the Luminox 3051 EVO Navy SEAL Colormark watch is designed for the needs of Navy SEALs in mind. The end result is not just a watch that’s functional and reliable, it looks great as well.

One of the first things you’ll notice about the Luminox 3051 is the big, bold display. This makes the watch very easy to read regardless of the lighting condition. This a 44mm watch so it’s best suited for users with larger wrists. It sits at 13mm high as well, so it’s fairly tall as well.

According to Luminox, the tritium luminosity accents are 100 times brighter than the competition. With that said, I never encountered any issues as far as legibility goes.

With that said, this is a distinguishable watch, thanks to some of its design elements like the pencil-shaped hands and absurdly large numbers. It’s an elegant sporty watch with the right amount of ruggedness for military folks.

5. Victorinox Swiss Army I.N.O.X. Watch

Best Military Watch

If you are looking for the best military watch that’s Swiss-made, the Victorinox Swiss Army I.N.O.X. comes highly recommended. While it doesn’t have as many features as the other models in this list, the main draw here is durability.

Sharp-Looking Beater Watch

I have always been a fan of Victorinox’s design and the INOX is no exception. This watch will sell itself with design elements like the matte black dial and applied hour markers. The watch boasts enough visual bling without sacrificing readability.

As mentioned, the main selling point of the INOX is its durability. Victorinox claims that it has subjected the watch to 130 durability and strength tests. This should give you a rough idea of how much abuse and torture this watch can withstand.

The 43mm case is constructed from stainless steel and protected by crystal sapphire. The watch is available in titanium for those who find the stainless model too heavy. The watch also comes with a paracord strap that adds a ton of durability to the watch.

The INOX comes highly recommended for military folks who want a durable, tactical timepiece with Swiss-quality aesthetics.

6. Citizen AT0200-05E Eco-Drive Chronograph Canvas

Best Military Watch

The Citizen AT0200-05E Eco-Drive Chronograph Canvas may seem super simplistic at first look but it offers incredible functionality with regards to tactical purposes.

Simplistic Design With Outstanding Functionality

For hardware, the AT0200-05E comes in a stainless steel bezel and body, and a well-constructed canvas band. I’ve been using this watch for weeks and I have yet to observe any signs of wear and tear. Both the body and band give the impression that they’re superbly constructed.

The watch is fitted with a Japanese quartz movement system and features an analog display. Accuracy seems to be on-point so far and the watch is a breeze to adjust if ever such a need comes up. This Citizen Eco-Drive model comes with a fully functional chronograph with 3 subdials for seconds, minutes, and hours.

The main highlight of the timepiece is its distinguished aesthetic. The green canvas band alongside the stainless steel body really help in nailing that military-style design. The black dial and large silver numbers make the watch easy to read.

As far as active/military-style watches go, the AT0200-05E Eco-Drive is an excellent mid-range option.

Achieve Tactical Excellence

It was not easy but we’ve managed to make this list of the best military watch that you can buy now.

Regardless of your preference, we sure hope that this guide has helped you choose the right tactical timepiece for your needs. You can trust that each of these models won’t disappoint in terms of durability and reliability.

Best Police Watch

1. Casio G-Shock DW6900BB Black Out Basic Series

Best Police Watch

Honestly, we could easily fill this list of the best police watch with G-Shocks and call it a day. G-Shocks are fairly popular with members of law enforcement and it’s not hard to see why. One of the best models of the bunch is the Casio G-Shock DW6900BB Black Out Basic Series.

Stealthy and Tactical

The G-Shock DW6900BB model does a great job of mixing digital and analog displays.

Perhaps the most standout feature of this G-Shock is its superior shock resistance. Casio has engineered a timepiece that suits the lifestyle of a police officer. Over the past several, this watch has received several impacts and exposure to moisture like you wouldn’t believe. The face is quite scratch-resistant as well.

The digital display is negative LCD which means that white font is used against a black background. My main concern with negative displays is legibility but I didn’t have such a problem with the DW6900BB. The electroluminescent (EL) backlighting works well for low light conditions.

The Black Out profile allows you to check the watch without giving away your position. This is, of course, a boon for officers during night operations.

The G-Shock DW6900BB watch is the very definition of a beater watch. It’s a heavy-duty timepiece with enough features to get you going.

2. Luminox 3051.BO Navy Seal Colormark 3050 Series

Best Police Watch

I am quite a fan of Luminox, particularly of the 3050 Series. The Luminox 3051.BO Navy Seal Colormark 3050 Series is already on our list of the best military watches, so it’s no surprise that it’s found its way here.

Navy Seal Pedigree

Police officers need a watch that will survive the rough and tough nature of their profession. However, the watch needs to be lightweight enough so it will not be weighed down.

It’s a good thing that the Luminox 3051.BO Navy Seal Colormark is the Polycarbonate carbon-reinforced case and the durable mineral crystal that protects the watch from scratches.

This all adds up to a tough as nails watch but still manages to be lightweight.

A tough watch doesn’t have to be ugly, and I believe Luminox agrees. The Luminox 3051.BO is a beautiful watch and its black matte finish really adds a tactical feel to it. Unlike the previous watch, this timepiece boasts excellent luminosity. Whether you’re in darkness or underwater, you’ll have no problem reading the watch. Thanks to the tritium in the hands and markers.

We’ve highlighted the Black Out model since it’s the most stealthy and tactical in the 3050 series. It’s not the most affordable watch on this list but it’s sure worth the asking price.

3. Citizen BN0151-09L Promaster Professional Diver

Best Police Watch

Why would I recommend a dive model in a list of the best police watch? Well, the best dive watches are some of the toughest timekeeping tools out there. Besides, the Citizen BN0151-09L Promaster Professional Diver is more than just a tough dive watch.

Low Maintenance Timepiece

Cops prefer a watch that they can just wear and forget – something that they can wear on a daily basis without worries. The Citizen BN0151-09L Promaster Professional Diver might be a dive model but it’s an excellent watch for everyday wear.

For a diver, the BN0151-09L Promaster is a lightweight watch. It’s easy to forget that you have it on as you about your duty. It has a thickness of about 12mm which is quite slim. You have the option of using the stock strap or the NATO, the latter will make the watch stand up more.

The Eco-Drive technology means that you don’t have to worry about changing the batteries.

The dial is perhaps my favorite part of the BN0151-09L Promaster. It just oozes cleanliness and all the design elements are well-arranged. The date window is located at 4 o’clock which is a nice break in tradition.

The watch is made of stainless steel. If you’re not a fan of brushed brass or plastic chassis, this is the best police watch for you. The steel construction adds a great deal of solidity to the watch. Based on my tests, it did well to repel most impacts.

4. Casio G-Shock GA 100-1A1 Military Series

Best Police Watch

Due to their inherent toughness and tactical features, there will be an overlap between police and military watches. Although the Casio G-Shock GA 100-1A1 Military Series is a watch that’s designed for military specifications, it’s also a solid choice for police officers.

Best Police Watch for the Money

The Casio G-Shock GA 100-1A1 Military Series is a classic tactical timepiece from Casio’s uber-popular G-Shock line.

Just from the look of the watch, you’ll know that it’s a tactical timekeeping tool. Like the previous G-Shock watch, this one comes with both analog and digital displays. The black matte finish is beautiful and adds a great deal to the watch’s sturdy look.

The black colorway means that you wear it outside of law enforcement duty. Like most G-Shocks, the GA 100-1A1 excels in durability, making it an ideal watch for hardworking officers of the law. The 10-year battery life also means that you’ll be wearing this watch for a long time.

However, the watch is far from perfect. For instance, it’s a fairly large watch that might turn off some people. The biggest drawback to this watch is definitely the legibility. The all-black face makes it harder to read in low light conditions and the LED light is not bright enough to illuminate the whole face.

Despite the shortcomings, the watch more than makes up for it with its excellent price point and overall reliability.

5. Seiko 5 Automatic

Best Police Watch

If you want the best police watch, you don’t have to settle with just the G-Shocks. The Seiko 5 Automatic looks and performs like a high-end watch but without the exorbitant price.

The Value Proposition

One look at the Seiko 5 and you’ll see that it’s an aviation-inspired timepiece.

The watch features a matte finish on the front and sides. The watch exudes an elegant military aesthetic and reminds me of some of the best pilot watches I’ve seen.

For this watch, legibility is the name of the game. There’s a lot going on with the dial but it’s not overly cramped or busy. Each of the white hour and the minute hand is applied with Seiko’s LumiBrite paint so you won’t have problems using this watch at night. The clean white lines not only adds to the legibility but also prevents the watch from looking generic.

It might be an elegant-looking timepiece but the Seiko 5 is a tough one. The Hardlex crystal does a great job of keeping scratches and bumps at bay. Plus, it features a fair water resistance rating.

Officers who are in the market for an aviation-inspired watch without the absurd price tag should check the Seiko 5 out.

6. Timex Expedition Gallatin

Best Police Watch

When it comes to tough watches, it’s hard to go wrong with Timex’s offering. The Expedition line is known for its excellent durability, reliability, and low price. The Timex Expedition Gallatin is an excellent and inexpensive all-rounder watch for members of the police force.

Heavy-Duty All-Rounder Watch

The Timex Expedition Gallatin is my workhorse. This is the kind of watch you wear if you don’t want to think too much about your timepiece.

Whether you’re hitting the gym or training in the field, this watch is a reliable companion. One thing I really like about this watch is that it’s lightweight. Most of the time, you won’t even notice that it’s there.

Police officers will surely appreciate the toughness offered by the Gallatin. The mineral glass is fairly scratch-resistant and the 100m water resistance means it’s good to wear for some water sports. The nylon strap adds another layer of ruggedness to the watch but it can get a bit stinky after some use.

It’s not the most feature-rich model on this list but at this price point, it’s hard not to recommend this watch to officers who are looking for a tough, beater watch.

Officers Deserve the Best Police Watch

This concludes our buying guide for the best police watch. Our top picks are durable, discrete, and offer good value for the money-making them ideal for law enforcement needs.

1. Citizen AT0200-05E Eco-Drive Chronograph

Best Affordable Chronograph Watch

When it comes to the best affordable chronograph watch, it’s hard to ignore the value that the Citizen AT0200-05E Eco-Drive Chronograph offers. It’s a military-inspired chronograph that delivers in terms of functionality and ruggedness.

Highly Functional and Reasonably-Priced

The Citizen AT0200-05E Eco-Drive Chronograph has been with me for quite a while and it continues to provide value.

This rugged stainless steel chronograph is very well-suited to everyday wear. As you might expect, the watch is quartz-powered by Citizen’s Eco-Drive solar charging technology. This means that you don’t have to worry about charging the watch. Simply leaving the watch by your windowsill gets the job done of charging, although indoor light works as well.

The pictures of the watch don’t do it justice. It looks better in person which is great if you’re planning to use this watch daily. Furthermore, the strap is quite robust and looks great for casual wear.

The AT0200-05E Eco-Drive Chronograph features three sub-dials that measure the hours, minutes, and seconds. The red seconds hand adds a good deal of depth to the dial. All in all, the dial itself is very legible despite the lack of significant texture.

Overall, the AT0200-05E Eco-Drive Chronograph is a durable, no-nonsense watch at a steal price.

2. Bulova Special Edition Lunar Pilot Chronograph

As far as lunar-themed chronographs go, the Omega Speedmaster is widely considered to be the definitive timepiece. However, the Bulova Special Edition Lunar Pilot Chronograph is also worth mentioning alongside the Speedmaster.

A Lunar Chronograph with a History

For a bit of history, the Bulova Lunar Pilot was actually worn by astronaut Dave Scott during his time in the moon, replacing his NASA-issued Speedmaster. The Bulova Special Edition Lunar Pilot Chronograph is the recreation of that lunar classic.

Right off the bat, you know that you have something special on your wrist.

First, this is a stunning chronograph. The case features a wonderful satin finish that gives the watch an elegantly sporty look. The design is a noteworthy departure from the usual Bulova timepiece – this is certainly more of a tool watch than a dressy unit. The build quality is top-notch, especially for a sub-$500 watch.

At 45 mm, the Bulova Special Edition Lunar Pilot Chronograph is not a small watch. For most folks, the large size is a boon as it looks more fashionable. Fortunately, the large size doesn’t come with discomfort and weightiness.

The watch is powered by a high-performance UHF quartz movement. It vibrates 8 times faster than your usual conventional quartz timepiece. There’s not much that can be said here except that the accuracy is on-point.

Ultimately, the Lunar Pilot might be the other “moon watch” but it’s certainly a no-slouch affordable chronograph.

3. Invicta 0070 Pro Diver Collection Chronograph

Best Affordable Chronograph Watch

If you are in the market for a budget dive chronograph, the Invicta 0070 Pro Diver Collection Chronograph is worth looking into. It’s unbelievable that it’s a sub-$200 dive watch and did many things right that it belongs on this list of the best affordable chronograph watch.

Sizable Dive Watch That Delivers

For starters, the Invicta 0070 Pro Diver is a huge and imposing watch. For that reason, the watch works well as a fashion piece. The stainless steel case is brushed and well-polished, and frankly, it looks great for a budget timepiece. Plus, the rugged construction provides the much-needed durability which is important for a dive watch.

The dial comes in marine blue which is always a nice aesthetic when it comes to dive watches. At first look, the dial may look a bit too crowded but I quickly came to realize the mindfulness of the layout. The three sub-dials are all highly readable, although two of them are partially obscured by the date window.

The watch also features skeleton hands which I am not too crazy about. The hands obscure the dial elements more than they need to. As for the movement, it is powered by a Chinese quartz movement which might seem like a drawback but it’s really not. As far as accuracy goes, I have no problem with the Invicta 0070 Pro Diver.

Overall, the Invicta 0070 Pro Diver is an ideal dive chronograph that’s budget-friendly without too many compromises.

4. Seiko SNN241 Stainless Steel

Best Affordable Chronograph Watch

You can’t make a list of the best affordable chronograph watch without listing a piece from Seiko. The Seiko SNN241 Stainless Steel is a luxury dress watch without the exorbitant price.

Solid Dress Watch for the Price

First, let’s get out the drawback out of the way. The Seiko SNN241 Stainless Steel chronograph has a case diameter of 42 mm with a band width of 11 mm. Just by looking at the specs, it’s easy to tell that the watch will look bigger than you expect. It becomes even more apparent once you have it on your wrist.

For a dress watch, it is indeed large so keep that in mind.

Fortunately, the rest of the watch is fantastic. For instance, the construction of the Seiko SNN241 is top-notch. The stainless steel case, hardlex crystal, and contrast-stitched leather band all add up to solid and reliable timepiece.

In terms of timekeeping, there’s nothing revolutionary about it but everything is done accurately and consistently. The Japanese quartz movement, as you might expect, is highly accurate. Both the chronograph dials are working consistently as well. The leather band feels high-quality and comfortable, so no complaints about that.

Seiko did a good job of providing both class and amazing value with the Seiko SNN241 chronograph.

5. Timex Fly-Back Chronograph

Best Affordable Chronograph Watch

Timex has plenty of great affordable chronograph watches from its lineup. Ultimately, I went with the Timex Fly-Back Chronograph due to its unique aesthetic and solid performance.

An Interesting Watch With Unique Complications

It’s hard to look at the Timex Fly-Back Chronograph and not be intrigued. One of the first things you’ll notice about the watch is its unique complication – the Fly-Back Chronograph Movement.

Instead of having two circular sub-dials, the watch features two half-circle displays that measure the minutes and hours. The Fly-Back mechanic is called as such because once the hands reach the end of the scale, they fly back to their starting position for another cycle.

Regardless of its functionality, I’m sold for its interesting complication alone.

With the unique complications, the watch also looks very interesting and aviation-inspired. The dial looks very complicated but it’s not a big deal once you get used to it. It looks elegant and sporty at the same time. The leather strap is a bit thick but it’s well-stitched and comfortable.

Wrapping up, the Timex Fly-Back Chronograph is greater than the sum of its parts. With its current sale price, this is one of the best Timex chronographs that you can get.

6. Casio MTP4500D-1AV Slide Rule Bezel Aviator

Best Affordable Chronograph Watch

Casio isn’t known for their chronographs but that doesn’t mean they don’t have one. The Casio MTP4500D-1AV Slide Rule Bezel Aviator is a well-made chronograph with an amazingly low-price.

Walks and Talks Like a $200 Watch

The Casio MTP4500D-1AV has made it into this list of the best affordable chronograph watch because it’s a steal. It looks and feels like a $200 watch but it’s a bargain timepiece through and through.

The quality of the construction is surprisingly solid and consistent. I am not normally a fan of mirror finishes but I don’t mind it here. Fortunately, it’s very easy to swap out the stainless steel bracelet with a different one – I replaced mine with a NATO strap.

The dial is also very interesting, mainly due to the design of the sub-dials. Personally, I am not too thrilled with the minutes sub-dial which displays a large 60 at the top portion and a large 30 at the bottom. This leads to confusion when trying to tell the minutes when the hands are near these positions.

Overall, the Casio MTP4500D-1AV is a great beater chronograph with a crazy value proposition.

Top Chronograph Watches for Less

This ends our list for the best affordable chronograph watches. If you think chronographs are expensive, think again – you just might not be looking hard enough!

Best Watch for EMT

1. Casio G-Shock GW6900-1 Tough Solar

Best Watch for EMT

The Casio G-Shock has always been my go-to for watches that can deliver in terms of durability, legibility, and functionality. The Casio G-Shock GW6900-1 Tough Solar is exactly that and more.

Won’t Let You Down in the Field

The Casio G-Shock GW6900-1 is about as basic as you can get as far as tough watches go. However, it does offer a number of other functionalities that make it a worthy pickup.

Obviously, the main draw of this watch is its toughness. It features a shock-resistant construction which makes it highly resilient against vibration and impact. Just by feeling the watch alone, you can see that it can withstand the rough nature of an EMT’s job.

On top of the excellent durability and toughness, the watch also features 20-bar water resistance. From the shower to emergency water rescues, your watch will not give in just because it came in contact with water.

The GW6900-1 is also solar-powered which means that as long as you are wearing it, replacing the battery is a non-issue. The watch can still work even after 5-23 months of not receiving any light.

Best of all, the GW6900-1 is an affordable timepiece that’s currently on-sale for less than $100.

2. Garmin Tactix Charlie

Best Watch for EMT

The Garmin Tactix Charlie is somewhat of a premium pick. It’s not the most affordable in this best watch for EMT list but it’s an easy recommendation for those who are looking for a watch with a ton of features.

One Tool Watch to Rule Them All

The Garmin Tactix Charlie is described as a premium GPS watch – you can expect no less than Garmin.

Is it tough enough to handle an EMT’s job?

Well, the case of the Tactix Charlie is reinforced polymer with a titanium back plate. Plus, the bezel is DLC coated titanium while the watch is protected by sapphire crystal. As you can see, the Tactix Charlie is not playing around as far as durability goes.

After all, it’s a watch that’s designed for tactical purposes.

The main selling point of the watch is the navigation features. The watch comes with GPS/GLONASS along with pre-loaded topo maps. Many Garmin GPS staple features are here such as the ability to set project waypoints. You can also easily save your location in a hurry. The navigation features should come in handy if you are responding to a rural or unfamiliar location.

And one thing, it’s also an excellent activity tracker and fitness tool.

The Garmin Tactix Charlie is by no means a cheap watch but it offers a mind-blowing number of features that many EMTs should appreciate.

3. Casio G-Shock Rescue Concept

Best Watch for EMT

If you want the best watch for EMT with a thematic twist, the Casio G-Shock Rescue Concept is worth looking into. Don’t get me wrong, it’s more than just a watch with eye-popping red color.

Thematic Twist to a Tough Watch

One look at the Casio G-Shock Rescue Concept and your eyes will be drawn to the beautiful red color. When mine arrived, I was so pleased that it looks even better in person. This is a colorful alternative for EMTs who are tired of the same old black watches.

Since this is a G-Shock model, there’s no surprise (or rather a shock) here when it comes to inherent toughness. Casio’s construction is always on-point. The watch feels appropriately weighty and it just provides a solid feel overall. You just know that it’s a watch that won’t fail you in the field.

The G-Shock Rescue Concept comes with a decent list of features such as moon/tide graphs, auto EL backlight, low temp LCD, flash alert, world time, and daily alarm. It’s no Tactix Charlie or the Suunto Traverse Alpha but it’s hard to go wrong with the price.

In conclusion, the Casio G-Shock Rescue Concept is an excellent rugged watch with a color scheme that fits the EMT theme.

4. Citizen BM8180-03E Eco-Drive

Best Watch for EMT

Citizen’s Eco-Drive collection has always impressed me. They’re some of the most robust and well-respected watches in the industry. The Citizen BM8180-03E Eco-Drive is no exception.

Quality EMT Watch for a Great Price

The Citizen BM8180-03E Eco-Drive is one of the best-selling watches on Amazon, and it’s not surprising at all.

The BM8180-03E is a military-inspired watch and a stylish one at that. While it’s indeed a rugged military watch, it features a nice and clean design. The army green color scheme of the strap contrasts rather well with the stainless steel case and black dial.

Speaking of the dial, I love the BM8180-03E’s black dial. It’s just so clean and immediately readable. The red second hand adds an interesting contrast against the black dial face. Plus, you can easily use the seconds from timing a patient’s pulse and the like. When things get dark, the hands and numerals are lumed and it’s is pretty good.

Being an Eco-Drive model, the BM8180-03E is solar powered and it’s one of the better solar-powered watches available. It can be charged both in sunlight and artificial light sources like lamps. In case you run out of solar power, the watch also comes with a reserve battery which is a nice bonus.

All in all, this is a great-looking watch with sufficient ruggedness and functionality to offer for a great price.

5. Speidel Original Scrub Watch

Best Watch for EMT

The Speidel Original Scrub Watch is a watch specifically designed for doctors, nurses, surgeons, and of course EMT workers. This watch is simple, durable, and easy to read – sometimes, that’s all you ever need from a watch.

A Medical Professional’s Watch

I’ll be frank: the Speidel Original Scrub Watch is simply a basic analog watch. Don’t expect it to sync with your smartphone or count your steps. The idea here is to keep the basic timekeeping needs of medical professionals.

With that said, the dial features large Arabic numbers and a bright red second hand, emphasizing “at a glance” readability. True enough, the Speidel Scrub Watch boasts excellent readability regardless of the lighting conditions. The bright red second hand comes in handy when counting a patients pulse or breathing.

The watch is available in many different colored wristbands which you can match with your scrub uniforms, hence the name. The silicone band takes a bit of getting used to. However, it does provide a good bit of comfort and doesn’t make my wrist itch which is a plus. The silicone band is very easy to clean as well.

Overall, the Speidel Scrub Watch gets the job done and does it well. It’s a basic watch every step of the way and it doesn’t pretend otherwise. Luckily, the watch is available for a good price.

6. Timex Expedition Scout 40

Best Watch for EMT

Timex is a brand known for its budget-friendly and durable watches. The Expedition collection is more of a field watch and it’s perfect for an EMT’s everyday wear. The Timex Expedition Scout 40 is one the best entries in that particular collection.

Affordable and Durable Choice for EMTs

Like the Citizen Eco-Drive model earlier, the Timex Expedition Scout 40 is easy to read with clear white Arabic numbers on a black dial. The numerals and hands just pop out and you can easily tell the time at first glance. The numerals are bold and large which is always a plus for readability.

The Expedition Scout 40 also features the Indiglo illumination technology which I am a big fan of. When it comes to timekeeping in the dark, you won’t have a problem with this watch. The Japanese Quartz movement is always reliable and offers enough practicality for the timekeeping needs of emergency responders.

The Timex Expedition Scout 40 is a watch that EMT workers can buy with confidence. Plus, it’s hard to go wrong with the sub-$50 price tag.

Affordable Elegant Timepiece

The MK3298 displays minimalism as it has a simple silver dial with raised gold-tone stick markers. A crystal set bezel surrounds the round watch face, thereby giving it a classic elegant look.

Opinions and Drawbacks

If you are looking for one of the best women’s watches under 500, the MK3298 should be on your shopping list. This timepiece will make a great accessory with any formal or casual outfit.

However, it has a battery that runs out within a short period. Also, the crystals on the bezel fall off in the long run, leaving behind a copper-toned hole that makes the watch less attractive.

Citizen Women’s Eco-Drive Watch with Date, EW1544-53A

Best Women's Watches Under 500

The Citizen Women’s two-tone Eco-Drive watch looks simple at first glance. This watch is durable and highly suitable for women in need of a timepiece that can handle tough conditions. It also has an impressive feature that keeps it running without a battery. What‘s even better is that it is one of the best women’s watches for aquatic activities like short dive and snorkeling.

Simple Durable Timepiece

Most Citizen Watches with great features come at a high price above $500, but in this case, it is a lot different. No need to break the bank because, with a budget below $300, you can get this sturdy women’s watch. It has a stainless steel case of 26mm diameter that can fit any wrist size.

This simple design watch features a white dial with easy to read black hour markers. Its dial lies under scratch-resistant mineral crystals that protect it from dust. The calendar window at the 3.0 clock hand keeps you informed on the current date.

Its gold-tone bezel gives the watch an added beauty to complement your wear. It has a two-tone stainless steel bracelet that makes the watch looks beautiful on the wrist. Also, with its fold-over clasp, the Citizen Eco-drive is comfortable enough for women with a small or large wrist.

Like other Eco-drive watches, the Japanese quartz movement is fueled by any light to keep it running every day. This means there is no battery replacement required, thereby saving you more money in the long run.

Opinion & Drawbacks

This is a durable timepiece for women in need watches under $500.  The design is not too complex like most ladies’ watch, which makes it very easy to read and use. You can take your bath or a swim with this watch on your wrist without worries.

However, if you’re concern about dates, then this watch is not for you. The calendar window is too small to read, and you have to adjust the date settings more often for it to work correctly. Overall, it offers a simple style and high functionality for everyday use.

Seiko Women’s SUT068 Watch

Best Women's Watches Under 500

Traditionally, Seiko has launched timepieces that impress consumers worldwide. One of such products is the Seiko Women’s SUTO68 watch that looks good on the feminine wrist.

Solar Powered Watch with Impressive Features

Like most watches on our list, the SUTO68 has a petite look that promises less weight than other models. Because of these features, this timepiece is comfortable to wear.

Although SEIKO offers a three-year warranty on the watch, the SUTO68 has a build that can outlive years of wear and tear. For instance, its Hardlex dial window is exceptionally resistant to knocks and scratches while its two-tone steel case back can withstand rust.

Seiko displays elegance on this watch by giving it a mother of Pearl dial surrounded by a diamond-accented bezel. Also, the watch has gold-toned hands and hour markers.

If you purchase this dress watch, there is no need to get extra batteries. This is because the watch has a rechargeable battery that runs on solar power. You can top up the cell with either natural or artificial light.

Opinion and Drawbacks

It’s no surprise that the SUTO68 poses as one of the best women’s watches under 500. After all, its elegant dial looks dazzling while the solar-powered battery prevents you from spending extra cash on extra batteries.

But the SUTO68 has some minor downsides. For instance, its diamonds are hardly noticeable while the bracelet is weaker than most Seiko models on the market.

Ladies’ Swarovski Crystal Crystalline Oval Rose Watch

Best Women's Watches Under 500

For women that love everything fashion and beauty, the Ladies’ Swarovski Oval Rose watch is the perfect choice for you. On your wrist, this will make you look like a million bucks. Luxury at its peak as it looks beautiful and eye-catching even from a far distance. You won’t regret buying and wearing this timepiece for any big occasion such as weddings, cocktail and dinner parties.

Luxury and Beautiful Timepiece

The unique oval shape design makes it look stunning. Also, combined with its inner ring filled with over 1000 crystals, this watch is the ideal piece to add a touch of sparkle to your wrist. For added beauty, it has a rose gold plated stainless steel bracelet that secures the watch on your wrist comfortably.

The Ladies Oval Rose is built with rose gold stainless steel case, and it features a Swiss quartz movement.  Your eye will be drawn more often to the inner ring silver-tone dial with gold hands, and the swan logo at the 12-o’clock marker. Also, it boasts of applied index markers and rose gold accents on the 3, 9, and 6-hour markers.

Opinion and Drawbacks

This is a perfect fashion accessory for women who appreciate subtle elegance. With a sturdy build and water-resistant to a depth of 100-feet, you will certainly enjoy this watch for a more extended period.

The biggest drawback is that it is pricier than others on our list. It does not also feature a calendar window. And most importantly, you need to handle the watch with care because it is a bit dainty and delicate.

Overall, It is one of the best women’s watches under 500 with an incredibly beautiful design on our list.

Bulova Women’s 98P121 Highbridge Watch

Best Women's Watches Under 500

Do you still feel that you can’t find the best women’s watch under 500? Then you should check out this exceptional item from Bulova which offers excellent features at a budget-friendly price.

Mother of Pearl Watch

Looking at this item, it’s certain that the fixed stainless steel bezel with a ceramic top will draw many compliments. A piece of mineral crystal protects its mother of pearl dial from damage and moisture while its hardened stainless steel and ceramic bracelet ensure secure placement. Overall, the Bulova Highbridge promises durability over an extended period.

One of the most beautiful parts of this timepiece is its mother of pearl dial. This feature houses silver-toned luminous hands that sweep across eight diamond hour markers. At the three o-clock position lies a date display window.

Like most luxury women’s watches, this timepiece has a slim profile with lightweight features. With this being said, this timepiece is comfortable to wear on any occasion.

It offers water-resistant up to a depth of 90-feet, meaning you can use it during light swimming. But we suggest that you leave the watch behind before you go for a dive in the ocean.

Opinion and Drawbacks

Bulova has always offered great watches and one example of such impressive products is the Bulova’s Women’s Highbridge Watch.

However, the ceramic plates on this watch usually chip easily, meaning the material cannot handle knocks. Furthermore, you might encounter some difficulty while setting the date because the knob is hard to pull out.

Victorinox Swiss Army Women’s Alliance Sport Watch

Best Women's Watches Under 500

Although it’s a sports watch, this item from the Swiss brand has the look and specs that will rival most luxury timepieces. Luckily, it comes at an affordable price that makes it one of the best women’s watches under 500.

Sleek Sports Watch

Unlike most watches on our list, the Women’s Alliance Sport watch looks slightly bulky. However, it feels light and comfortable on the wrist.

The attractive black dial boasts luminous silver-toned hands which allow you to read the watch in low lighting. Also, scratch-resistant sapphire glass covers the dial while a black plated stainless steel bezel surrounds the crystal.

Its sturdy case back promises water-resistant up to 330-feet while a polished steel bracelet offers added security. Overall, the watch can withstand swimming strokes without falling from your wrist or exhibiting rust.

Opinion and Drawbacks

The bracelet darkens the skin on the wrist, thereby making it a less than perfect timepiece for women. Also, you cannot see the hour markers in the dark because they do not contain luminous paint.

Nixon Kensington’ Women’s Watch

Best Women's Watches Under 500

With its Japanese quartz movement coupled with an analog display, this timepiece will offer accurate timekeeping and luxury with ease. It even provides better features than most female watches within the same price range.

Bold Watch with Sturdy Build

Also known as the Kensingston A099, this item is not a regular-sized women’s watch. It has a case back that measures 37mm and a bright white dial which gives it a minimalistic look. Its engraved and printed markers bring additional charm.

A mineral crystal covers the impressive dial and protects it from damage. The glass is also scratch-resistant. Under the rain, the A099 works perfectly. This comes as no surprise as it boasts of water-resistant up to 165-feet.

Opinion and Drawbacks

The Nixon Kensington has some issues which might make you consider other options. First, the material is too light, raising questions about the durability of the metal. Next, the gold plating on the watch fades after prolonged use.

Citizen vs Seiko Dive Watches: Which Dive Watch Brand Should You Get?

Citizen vs Seiko Dive Watches Review

In the 1970s, Japanese watchmakers have taken the world of the watch industry by storm. This was largely in part due to the Quartz Revolution and the world of watches was changed forever. Japan is famous for making some of the best bang-for-the-buck timepieces in the industry.

This is especially true when it comes to dive watches.

If you are in the market for a new dive watch that won’t break the bank, you’ll likely end up choosing watches from Citizen and Seiko. Both are Japanese brands and from the initial look, there’s plenty of similarities between the two dive watch brands.

Today, I have the unenviable job of comparing Citizen vs Seiko dive watches. Which dive watch brand is better? Let’s find out!

Citizen vs Seiko Dive Watches: Head-to-Head Comparison

Citizen vs Seiko Dive Watches Review

Style and Design

When you look at both Citizen and Seiko dive watches, you’ll probably think that both watches look fairly similar. However, once you really observe the divers from both brands, you’ll see the distinct differences.

In general, Seiko divers tend to look more like the classic dive watches. For example, the Seiko Men’s SKX009K2 features the same design aesthetic as the classic Submariner. Many of their dive watches feature a vintage style and design but never looking outdated.

Also, the popular Prospex collection boasts the “land explorer” look with high legibility, sleek smooth design, and congested motion. It’s worth noting that the Prospex collection has many variants that are not limited to dive watches. Seiko also has the Seiko Grand collection for those who are looking for a more high-end watch.

On the other hand, Citizen also offers watches that have that unmistakable vintage design. However, unlike Seiko, Citizen seems to push the envelop more when it comes to its design philosophy. You can find many Citizen pieces that look more creative, experimental even.

When it comes to actual style and design, it’s hard to go wrong with either Citizen or Seiko. Both dive watch brands have models that look stylish and offer strong designs. At the end of the day, it will come down to your personal preference.

Construction and Durability

For construction and durability, Citizen vs Seiko dive watches can definitely go toe-to-toe with each other. For the crystals, Citizen tends to use mineral crystals while Seiko utilizes its patented Hardlex crystals. Both crystals are very impact resistant but I’ve found that both crystals are easily scratched.

For the materials, both dive watch brands don’t use precious metals (gold, platinum, etc.) for making the watches. Both brands use stainless steel for most of their dive watches which is not a problem at all. If you want a piece that uses precious metals, you might want to look into the Seiko Grand line.

Based on our tests, the bracelet of Citizen dive watches is better when compared to Seiko. This is hardly an extensive test but Citizen bracelets were more comfortable and durable than Seiko bracelets.

I’ve been doing some reading online and it seems that there’s an argument that Citizen has the upper hand in terms of production quality. However, there’s no definitive proof of this but I do know that both watches have a history of producing excellent quality watches for less.

Water Resistance

Of course, you can’t talk about dive watches without mentioning their water resistance rating. Which dive watch brand is the better diving tool? On average, I think that the two brands are fairly comparable with regards to water resistance rating. Both brands have models that can handle the standard 200 meters of depth. These dive watches are good for the average diver.

However, if you’re somewhat of a professional diver, Citizen has the leg up versus Seiko. Citizen has the Promaster 1000M Professional Diver which has a rating of 1000M/100Bar and perfect for serious scuba diving. Seiko also has a 1000 meter dive watch in the form of SBDX014G Marinemaster but it’s far more expensive when compared to Citizen’s offering.

Overall, both brands cater to a wide range of diving needs.

Features and Technology

When it comes to the best dive watches, I always check the illuminated hands. After all, you’re hundreds of meters down the ocean, so you want a watch that you can actually read – good illumination helps with that. In that regard, I think Seiko has the advantage over Citizen with the former’s LumiBrite hands/markers. It just works better, even in bright daylight.

In the matters of diving features, Seiko divers come with Kinetic and Spring Drive Technologies. The original Kinetic technology has been a point of success for Seiko but it does have some practical shortcomings. For instance, you need to wear the watch or oscillate in your hands to charge it. On the other hand, the Spring Drive movement melds the benefits of both automatic and quartz movements. It’s a mechanical movement with the accuracy of quartz.

On the flip side, Citizen uses Japanese quartz movement for most of its divers. There’s a couple of Citizen divers that also come with Atomic timekeeping which further enhances accuracy. However, the biggest advantage of Citizen dive watches is Eco-Drive technology. This technology powers watches from any natural/artificial light source and converts light to energy. That’s right, you won’t ever have to replace batteries with Eco-Drive timepieces.

For timekeeping and general features, Seiko has the upper hand when it comes to overall accuracy while Citizen comes out on top if you prefer a solar-powered watch.

Pricing

As mentioned, both Citizen and Seiko are known for affordable, high-quality dive watches. As far as pricing goes, Citizen and Seiko have very similar price ranges and both cater to a wide range of budgets. You can get a reliable dive watch with a $200-$300 price tag from both brands.

The main difference between the two is with the highest-end offering. The Seiko Prospex SBDX014G Marinemaster is available for $3,000+ while the Citizen Promaster 1000M Professional Diver comes with a $2,000+ price tag.

Best Citizen Dive Watches

1. Citizen BN0085 Eco-Drive

The Citizen BN0085 Eco-Drive is one of the best value dive watches that you can get from Citizen. It’s made from stainless steel with a textured dial and unidirectional gear-shaped bezel. The watch comes with a date window and luminous hands/indices.

There’s nothing too fancy here but it’s an Eco-Drive diver which means you don’t have to replace the batteries now and then. The BN0085 is a moderately-sized watch that keeps accurate time and offers some pretty great features.

2. Citizen BN0150-28E Eco-Drive Promaster

Citizen vs Seiko Dive Watches

For starters, the Citizen BN0150-28E Eco-Drive Promaster is yet another bang-for-your-buck dive watch. It has a very simple design but has the inner workings of an excellent diver. It is water resistant to 660 feet, powered with Japanese quartz movement, and protected by mineral crystal casing. The BN0150-28E is a watch that’s useful in the ocean and the office.

This Promaster watch is a solid option if you’re looking for a dive watch that won’t cost you an arm and leg. It’s also a great gift for the upcoming holidays.

3. Citizen BN2029-01E Eco-Drive Promaster Aqualand

Citizen vs Seiko Dive Watches

The Citizen BN2029-01E Eco-Drive Promaster Aqualand is highly recommended for those who are looking for a rugged dive tool. The BN2029-01E Eco-Drive Promaster Aqualand comes several great diving features such as the Rapid Descent Alarm, Auto-Start Dive mode, Max Depth Memory, and Depth Display.

Just by looking at it, you know that it’s a heavy-duty dive watch. Plus, it looks great as well although it might be a little too big for some people. The Aqualand is a great diving companion for both amateur and professional divers.

Best Seiko Dive Watches

1. Seiko Prospex SRPA21K1 Automatic

Citizen vs Seiko Dive Watches

For a good dive watch under $500, the Seiko Prospex SRPA21K1 Automatic comes highly recommended. It really is a lot of watch for the price. You have the classic Pepsi colorway that just looks even better in person. With a depth rating of 200 meters (660 feet), it’s a solid diver for general use.

Seiko did a great job with the polishing on the case and bezel, giving the watch a more sophisticated look. The SRPA21K1 is a dive watch that you won’t mind wearing regularly.

2. Seiko Prospex SNE435P1 PADI Solar

Citizen vs Seiko Dive Watches

The Seiko Prospex line is officially sanctioned by the Professional Association of Diving Instructors. Therefore, you know that you have a legitimate timepiece on your wrist. The Seiko Prospex SNE435P1 PADI Solar is a diving watch with serious pedigree and great price.

The SNE435P1 has a water resistance rating of 200 meters, making it a good fit for general diving purposes. This is a solar-powered watch and features a 10-month power reserve once it’s fully charged. It’s a bit on the bigger and thicker side but it’s hard to complain especially at this price point.

3. Seiko Prospex SRPC93 ‘Save The Ocean’ Samurai

Citizen vs Seiko Dive Watches

Personally, the Seiko Prospex SRPC93 ‘Save The Ocean’ Samurai is one of the shining entries in Seiko’s Prospex line. In terms of comfort and wearability, it’s easily one of my favorite Seiko watches ever. The bracelet is solid and high-quality, and the reduced bulk made way for a better wearing experience.

It’s a good thing that the Prospex SRPC93 is also very stylish with its bright blue dial and knockabout body. The dial is just hypnotizing to look at, and it just begs to be worn in the water. Despite being a special edition Prospex, the SRPC93 can be yours for less than $500.

Citizen vs Seiko Dive Watches: Which One Should You Choose?

Finally, we’ve come to the end of the Citizen vs Seiko dive watches comparison.

So which one should you get?

Well, it depends on what you want from a dive watch. If you care more about watches with a classic vintage look, Seiko’s offerings should be a good starting point. Otherwise, Citizen has more watches with bolder designs.

As for the timekeeping and diving performance, both Seiko and Citizen are almost neck-to-neck. Citizen’s Eco-Drive technology is a big deal since you don’t have to replace the batteries. Seiko dive watches have interesting movement technology but the older ones have practical drawbacks.

Lastly, pricing is almost the same between the two brands unless you go for the higher-end models. In that regard, Citizen edges out Seiko when it comes to high-end model pricing.

At the end of the day, it’s hard to go wrong with either dive watch brands. Both have a history of making high-performance dive watches at budget-friendly prices.

Best Watches for Construction Workers

1. Casio G-Shock Rangeman GW-9400

For this list of the best watches for construction workers, I could probably fill the list with Casio watches and it’s still going to be a pretty good roundup. When it comes to tough watches, it’s no wonder that Casio is a household name. The Casio G-Shock Rangeman GW-9400 is what I consider a quintessential Casio tough watch.

The Quintessential Tough Watch

The G-Shock Rangeman GW-9400 is a battle-tested timepiece and is widely considered to be one of the best G-Shock watches available.

However, the G-Shock Rangeman GW-9400 is more than just a tough watch, it’s a full-featured outdoor unit as well. One of its best features is the Triple Sensor which means that it comes with a compass, altimeter, thermometer and barometer. It’s not exactly something that you can use on the construction site but it’s certainly a nice bonus.

But the toughness of the Rangeman GW-9400 will surely come in handy on the site. As you might expect, this watch is highly resistant to scratches, bumps, shocks, and vibrations. It’s also low temperature resistant, so you can wear it while working in the cold. It’s also a Tough Solar model which means that you don’t have to worry about running out of juice.

Overall, the Casio G-Shock Rangeman GW-9400 is a must-have for construction workers, thanks to its legendary toughness and excellent value proposition.

2. Garmin Fenix 5X Sapphire

If you’re looking for a timepiece that offers more than your traditional tough watch, the Garmin Fenix 5X Sapphire is a top-notch choice.

Perfect for Challenging Environments

The Fenix 5X is also our top choice for the best ‘smartwatches’ for construction workers, so that’s saying something. The Garmin Fenix 5X Sapphire is primarily an outdoor watch but it’s going to feel at home at a construction site.

The rugged design of the Fenix 5X allows for some serious durability. It features PVD-coated stainless steel bezel, buttons and rear case – a highly reinforced timepiece that feels tough and solid to the touch. The Transflective technology reflects and transmit light at the same time, so you can read the watch even when you’re working on the site. Water resistance is also great and is rated at 100 meters.

As mentioned, the Fenix 5X Sapphire is a high-end outdoor watch that’s packed with features. The advanced GPS and GLONASS satellite reception makes navigation in the wild a breeze. The full color Topo U.S. mapping is also a great navigation feature. On top of being an amazing outdoor watch, it’s a feature-packed activity tracker as well.

Overall, the Fenix 5X is more than just a tough watch. It’s on the expensive side but it’s worth the investment.

3. Timex Expedition Rugged Metal

When it comes to rugged, tough watches that provide amazing value proposition, Timex needs no introduction. For construction workers, the Timex Expedition Rugged Metal is a reliable timekeeping companion.

Tough and Practical

Timex is a brand that has been around forever, so I tend to think that they know how to make watches. The Timex Expedition is one of the best collections the brand has to offer.

The biggest pro of this watch is its build quality and materials. That tends to be the case with the Expedition collection. This isn’t your Uncle Dave’s old Timex anymore that comes with a cheap metal case and bracelet. The Expedition Rugged Metal is a workhorse of a watch, thanks to its metal construction – it’s a watch that you can rely on while working on a construction site.

As with most Timex watches, the Expedition keeps good time. The Indiglo feature works as intended but the hands are luminous enough that you won’t need the aforementioned feature for legibility. In terms of comfort, this watch wears just right. The leather watch doesn’t just look good, it’s surprisingly comfortable as well.

Finally, the best reason to get this watch is for its price. For this amount of quality and durability, $50 is a steal.

4. Citizen Eco-Drive AT4010-50E Titanium Perpetual

Citizen’s Eco-Drive series is a beloved collection from this legendary Japanese watchmaker. In terms of durability, I went with the Citizen Eco-Drive AT4010-50E Titanium Perpetual.

Combination of Style and Durability

Who says that tough watches need to look like bulky tool watches? The Citizen Eco-Drive AT4010-50E Titanium Perpetual is modern and sleek but is still a reliable timepiece for construction workers.

As a Titanium watch, the case and bracelet deliver in terms of durability. It’s pretty much a daily-wear watch that you can wear from casual walks to construction work. However, with the elegant design and silver tone, I can see myself wearing it during formal events as well. The watch also offers a water resistance of 200 m (660 ft) which is pretty good.

The dial is also a standout and has good texture. However, legibility can be an issue. The three chronograph dials are laid out beautifully but it can be a bit too busy for some people. The atomic timekeeping is a great feature to have, especially if you care about accuracy.

Overall, the Citizen Eco-Drive AT4010-50E Titanium Perpetual is a stylish but durable solar-powered watch. It’s a bit on the expensive side but it should serve you well while on the site.

5. Luminox 3059 EVO Navy SEAL Colormark

The Luminox 3059 EVO Navy SEAL Colormark is one of our top picks for the best military watch. With that in mind, it’s hard not to recommend this watch for a list of the best watches for construction workers.

Rugged Build and Superior Construction

The Luminox 3059 EVO comes with the right amount of heft and bulk. Plus, it comes in safety orange so it’s perfect for construction workers. As far as looks go, this watch is handsome one, thanks to its great shape and the pop of orange color. Plus, it makes the watch easier to read.

But is this a tough watch?

Absolutely! The watch uses the innovative carbon compound material Carbonox. The material is six times lighter than steel and three times lighter than titanium. It’s also very resistant to chemicals and features a very low thermal extension. So when you’re working on the site, it doesn’t get very hot or cold. Luminox did a good job of taking ruggedness and durability to a whole new level.

Finally, it’s a watch that’s recommended by U.S. SEALs and pilots, so you can trust that it’s a reliable piece.

6. Casio PRO-TREK PRG-600

The Casio PRO-TREK PRG-600 is tagged as an “outdoor world timer” and its tough design and bevy of features are the reasons why it’s one of the best watches for construction workers.

The Watch You Take Outside

For starters, the Casio PRO-TREK PRG-600 is one of the newer versions of the Pro Trek series. As you can see, one of the stronger aspects of this watch is its look. It’s quite an outlier as far as Casio designs go. The round face is fairly easy to read, even without the backlight. I think the oversized numbers is a great design decision.

The PRO-TREK PRG-600 is reinforced for temperatures down to -10C and has a water resistance rating of 100 meters. For durability, Casio’s signature rugged design shines here and it’s a good thing that you don’t have to worry about charging because it’s a solar-powered watch.

Ultimately, the PRO-TREK PRG-600 should come in handy for construction workers. However, it does have a steep learning curve.

Best Citizen Watch Criteria

There are many aspects and features of a watch that makes the particular timepiece attractive to the buyer. BUT, then there are functions and features that make the watch great overall; those being durability, design, movement, and special features. Today, we hope to assist in your Citizen watch buying journey, breaking down each watch into multiple sections, to help you choose the number one best watch for yourself or a loved one!

Citizen Eco-Drive Titanium Perpetual

Everything about this watch is great. For context, the Eco-Drive Titanium Perpetual is definitely a “Wow, I am sure glad I bought this!” watch.

Best Citizen Watches

The Titanium Perpetual pulls in the attention of any eyes that dare lie in its path, with a bold, large 42mm titanium case and a complex guilloche dial with three chronograph subdials. It is truly a masterpiece!

Durability

Things do not get much more durable than this. Have you heard of titanium?

Really though, the timepiece is very durable. Top durability perks include up to 200 meters of water resistance, titanium link bracelet, strong & anti-reflective sapphire crystal, and a blue ion plating to ensure the watch does not rust or degrade.

Design & Movement

A chronograph design is not easy to perfect. There are so many moving parts that can make a chronograph watch seem too complex. The Titanium Perpetual is a perfect median of complexity and clean design.

The tachymeter top-ring around the bezel gives the watch character. This is the type of feature you typically see on a much higher priced timepiece. So although it seems simple, it is not…. Other aesthetics of the watch include the 42mm stainless steel case, which gives the watch a bold and strong look. And also a titanium link bracelet with fold-over clasp, for comfort and style.

A high-quality Japanese quartz movement is the engine behind the titanium perpetual. Partnered with the Eco-Drive technology, you can have faith that your timepiece will continuously tick for years. In fact, Citizen claims that the watch should last 1.5 years on a full charge! That is absolutely nuts for a quartz movement.

The Everyday Citizen’s Watch

If you are looking for an everyday watch that is as stylish as it is functional then you are making the right decision with the Citizen Titanium Perpetual. Built for everyday use, this timepiece is sure to keep you happy & aware of the exact time, in any timezone.

Citizen Pro-Master Diver

A dive watch for great value! It really does not get much better than that!

Best Citizen Watches

The Citizen Pro-Master Diver is an excellent choice for the dive watch fanatic, who does not necessarily want to see their bank account take a plunge (no pun intended). With a classic unidirectional, aluminum bezel and a strong and sturdy 48mm case, there is no doubting the durability of this particular model.

Durability

Effortlessly dive up to 660 ft with the Pro-Master without having to worry. This is in fact, a certified dive watch, so it was made to take on the pressure! The molded polyurethane band offers owners a comfortable, yet extremely rugged piece of the watch that is near impossible to harm.

Design & Movement

A revolutionary feature was added to the Pro-Master Dive to ensure it is able to operate without ever having to change the battery. Typically, quartz movements need to be replaced every few years; and the Citizen Pro-Diver does have a Japanese quartz movement inside. However, the Eco-Drive feature ensures the watch can continue to run with natural or artificial lighting.

Dive watches that come with quartz movements are usually looked down upon. But having the Eco-Drive ability makes the Citizen Pro-Master compete with some other type dive watch brands!

A True Dive Watch

When you go under a certain price point, it is hard to find a decent dive watch that is as attractive as is functional. Luckily, with the Citizen Pro-Master Diver, you get the best of both worlds. The watch is 100% ISO compliant and is built to withstand years of diving. It really is a true dive watch.

Citizen Eco-Drive Stainless Steel Axiom

The innovative and contemporary design of the Stainless Steel Axiom makes it the perfect timepiece for your modern-day millennial in 2019.

Best Citizen Watches

The futuristic silver-tone watch with a black top ring and a blank black dial featuring a date window make this watch a simplistic addition to the wrist. It is a great watch to wear with any outfit and is comfortable to wear as well.

Durability

The Steel Axiom may not be as tough and rugged as the other watches that are being reviewed today. But it still is quite durable. The watch features a mineral date window, that tends to not get scratched up. A stainless steel case and bracelet. It is also a water “resistant” watch. So it can take a few splashes and some walks in the rain. I would not recommend swimming or dropping it in the toilet.

Design and Movement

As mentioned previously, this watch has a simple design, but something about it that makes it so much more. The futuristic look, with a large, 40mm stainless steel case, makes the timepiece truly stand out on the wrist.

As for the movement, just as good as the other Citizen watches. Japanese quartz, with Eco-drive technology. So no need to change up the battery.

Simple, yet Stylish

Its high-fashion nowadays is to be considered simplistic, or a minimalist. With the Citizen Stainless Steel Axiom, you can now follow the crowd. Not only will you be styling, but also saving some hard-earned cash along the way. This watch is a steal!
