Vincero Watch Review: The Chrono S is a Luxury Watch Sans the Luxury Price

Vincero Watch Review Chrono S Chronograph

While I am always excited to check out new watch brands, I tend to be quite wary when suddenly a brand is everywhere.

That’s how I feel with Vincero.

However, I’ve been checking out their website and it looks elegant and professional. I’ve decided to give this brand a chance since I’ve been eyeing a good chronograph that won’t break the bank. So I pulled the trigger on one of the most popular timepieces by Vincero – the Chrono S Chronograph.

Vincero Watch Review

For this Vincero watch review, I am going to take an in-depth look at the Vincero Chrono S Chronograph. Let’s get to it!

First Impressions

Vincero Watch Review

To start this Vincero watch review, let’s first talk about the packaging.

The Chrono S shipped in a black rectangular box and cardboard sleeve. The packaging is fairly simplistic but still elegant. The box itself is quite sturdy and boasts a nice Vincero logo engraving on top. At the side of the sleeve, you’ll find a very noticeable barcode which, in my opinion, detracts from the elegance that they are going for.

Inside the box, you’ll be greeted with Vincero’s main tagline “Live Your Legacy” along with a small instruction booklet and the thank you card. The thank you card is a nice touch and the instruction booklet is very well-made.

I’ve seen higher-quality packaging from other microbrands but it gets the job done.

As for the watch itself, it had a plastic covering for protection. Out of the box, I must say that the Chrono S has surpassed my expectation. The dial looks vibrant and crisp through the sapphire crystal. The timepiece also has a nice weight to it while the leather strap feels middle of the road. Additionally, the watch is 43 mm which is substantial.

Vincero Watch Review

Interestingly, the caseback has an engraving of the famous Italian quote “Veni. Vidi. Vici” which means “I came, I saw, I conquered.” Another interesting addition to the caseback is the inclusion of the Italian marble. It doesn’t serve any worthwhile purpose but it does give the watch a unique look.

Overall, my first impression is a huge positive.

Design

Vincero Watch Review

The dial is certainly one of the most standout qualities of the Chrono S. The dial offers just the right amount of elegance but it’s quite leaning to the casual side as well. The clean, sunray blue color just pulls your eyes in. Sure, there’s nothing groundbreaking here but you’ll be hard-pressed to say the dial doesn’t look good.

Nothing about the Chrono S’ dial is subtle but the design elements are not overdone at all. As a chronograph, the watch features three sub-dials for the seconds, hours, and minutes. The sub-dials are appropriately textured so they don’t look flat. The date window is located between the 4 and 5-hour markers. I found myself liking the playful placement of the date aperture as it gives the watch a good deal of personality.

Vincero Watch Review

At the 3 o’clock location, you can find the Vincero logo that looks rather average. A more textured and high-quality logo would have vastly improved the overall look of the dial. Despite these elements, the dial doesn’t feel too crowded and I must commend Vincero for their placement.

In terms of legibility, the Chrono S is a mixed bag.

Under the sun, the dial reads very easily. However, under dark conditions, the dial brought in disappointment. Supposedly, there’s a lume to the hands and indices but it’s quite poor. Overall, the watch performs quite poorly in low-light conditions which is a shame.

If the blue dial doesn’t quite tickle your fancy, Vincero offers more than 20 different color options for

Construction and Wearability

Vincero Watch Review

For starters, the case is made from silver 316L surgical grade stainless steel which provides the much-needed solid feel to the watch. Keep in mind that this is quite a sizable watch with a good deal of thickness. On a small wrist, the Chrono S will look very out of place. However, for medium to large wrists, wearing the watch feels just right.

The chunkiness adds a bit of character in combination with the well-designed dial.

Vincero Watch Review

Another point that’s worth discussing is the lugs. The lugs are fairly large and often press against my wrist but it’s not too severe that it becomes uncomfortable. The face is protected by a sapphire-coated crystal and does a great job of keeping dents and scratches at bay.

Next, we move on to the Chrono S’ leather strap.

The quality of the leather strap is pretty much what you can expect from a sub $200 watch. With that said, the leather strap is textured, attractive, and will likely develop a good-looking patina over time. However, just don’t expect full-grain leather here.

On a negative note, the leather strap seems to be quite short which is a problem if you have a larger wrist. In my case, it fits rather well and comfortable enough but I won’t be surprised if it fits short for other people. The watch offers 5 ATMs of water resistance which should be good enough to withstand the occasional splash and a quick shower.

In case the strap breaks down, you always have the option of getting a Vincero replacement strap.

Timekeeping

Vincero Watch Review

For starters, the watch features the ever-reliable Citizen Miyota Quartz. Now, the quartz movement will likely turn up the collective noses of watch snobs but this movement is accurate and reliable. I’ve yet to experience any issues with timekeeping and I believe that it will stay that way long into the future.

Additionally, the sub-dials are all working as designed, and resetting the watch is oddly satisfying. I’ve used the subdials as timers and they work wonderfully. On the other hand, the date aperture takes a bit of getting used due to the playful angle placement but there’s no issue with it as well.

The Chrono S doesn’t offer much to the table in terms of timekeeping features. With that said, the Vincero Chrono S is not exactly a timekeeping marvel but it works, and it works well. Sometimes, for a watch like this, that’s all that matters.

Pricing

This Vincero watch review was inspired by the company itself.

Vincero aims to marry luxury with a bang for your buck value. It’s not exactly a novel idea but I must say that the company has succeeded – to some extent.

The main goal of Vincero is to focus on quality by sourcing the components themselves and producing timepieces in small batches. Also, the company refrains from outsourcing its processes which means everything happens in-house.

This gives Vincero the freedom to control the quality of their watches across the board.

With the Vincero Chrono S Chronograph, the company has certainly met its goal. Out of the box, the Chrono S looks and feels like a luxury watch. It feels solid and the comfort level is certainly there. However, with a closer look, I found some blemishes in quality.

For instance, the markers, hands, and indices are not properly lumed. This translates to poor readability during low-light conditions. Moreover, some design elements on the dial could certainly be improved such as the logo. The strap, also, can be quite short for those who have larger wrists.

However, that’s just me nitpicking.

The Vincero Chrono S Chronograph is priced under $200 which is an excellent price point. For your money, you get a good-looking, versatile watch that’s sure to garner compliments – I know I did. I’ve worn it during weekend getaways and business meetings, and it never felt out of place.

Despite several issues, Vincero has nailed the balance between luxurious elegance and value with the Chrono S.

Should You Get the Vincero Chrono S Chronograph?

Vincero Watch Review

To end this Vincero Watch review, we have some final words if the Chrono S is worth your money or not.

Is the Vincero Chrono S Chronograph worth the purchase? The short answer is yes!

The main selling point of the Chrono S is its price point. For a watch that costs less than $200, there’s just a good deal of watch to be had here.

Right off the bat, the Chrono S impresses with its overall quality. The dial is very well-done and that can be said about many of its variations. In my case, the blue dial delivers in terms of looks and readability. However, the watch did suffer in performance under low-light conditions. The strap could also use some improvements.

The Chrono S is a budget luxury watch but it certainly doesn’t look and feel like a “budget” timepiece. Vincero did a great job of putting out an elegant timepiece with minimal compromises.

The Vincero Chrono S Chronograph is quiet and confident – an excellent daily beater of a watch.

Best Pilot Watches Under $500

Best Pilot Watch Under $500

Pilot watches are in style, and you can often get away with wearing an excellent watch even if you aren’t dressed to match. But if you’re in the market for a good pilot watch, you might also be looking for one under $500 so you can afford it without emptying your wallet.

If that’s the case, we recommend the Bulova Lunar Pilot Chronograph Watch as the best pilot watch under 500. It’s a quality timepiece that can bring you a lot of value for many years to come. We’ll also show you some alternative picks for watches that are still excellent and beneath $500.

Top Pick: Bulova Men’s Lunar Pilot Chronograph Watch

best pilot watch under 500

Overall, our favorite pick is the Bulova Men’s Lunar Pilot Chronograph Watch.

This watch is constructed with sapphire glass and Precisionist-class chronograph movement. This makes the watch’s timekeeping abilities three times more accurate than watches with standard quartz chronograph mechanisms. It includes a signature floating secondhand and resists gravitational error. It’s so precise that it’s accurate within 1/1000 of a second.

The watch exudes class and elegance. It’s made with a stainless-steel case and bracelet and the dial is set against the blue and silver dials with multiple layers of black carbon fiber. This keeps the watch face luminous and easy to read while being sophisticated enough for virtually any occasion.

Why We Like It

The watch’s simplicity and style both combine to make this one of the best watches we’ve ever seen. In addition to its excellent aesthetic, it’s extremely functional both in its timekeeping abilities and precision. A tachymeter has been implemented along the outer border of the watch face.

In addition to these excellent qualities, the watch is also water-resistant down to 300 meters. Its sapphire glass face is strong enough to resist some punishment without attaining any blemishes; this is a great thing in our eyes since it’s a little pricey even though it’s still beneath $500.

Speaking of water resistance, if you’re looking for outdoor watches, check out our handy guide here.

What Could be Better

There are a couple of downsides. Watch is a little large, as it 45mm in diameter, so those with thinner wrists will likely look a little silly in comparison. In addition, the bracelet doesn’t taper very well so can be uncomfortable if you have sensitive skin beneath your wrist.

Other Picks

We’ve got some runners-up that for best pilot watches that are almost as good as the Bulova.

Citizen Watches Men’s AT0200-05E Eco-Drive Chronograph Canvas Watch

best pilot watch under 500

The Citizen Watches Men’s AT0200-05E Eco-Drive Chronograph Canvas Watch is a much more affordable option that has a military-inspired aesthetic. The watch border is stainless steel with a red contrasting secondhand, but the bracelet is made from rugged green canvas. Both of these styles combine to create a watch aesthetic that is both classy and practical at the same time.

It’s also an accurate timepiece; it uses Japanese quartz movement technology to remain precise throughout the year. Even better, it can recharge the natural sunlight or indoor light, so this extends the amount of time you have to enjoy the watch before you need to replace its battery.

Why We Like It

We really enjoy the overall durability and practicality of this watch, making it a shoo-in for a choice of one of the best pilot watches. Its ability to recharge its battery via sunlight or indoor light is an excellent design choice that can save you money in the long run in addition to its convenience. The hands are particularly luminous and easy to see even in low light conditions.

When it comes to durability, there are a few watches that compare. Its water resistance up to 330 feet or 100 meters, making it suitable for swimming if not diving. The window is made from mineral crystal so it can withstand some punishment before it takes any visible damage.

What Could be Better

The biggest downside is that the red hand, which you might think is for timekeeping, is actually only used for the watch’s stopwatch capability. This is a little misleading. In addition, the date window near the 4 o’clock position is very small and can be hard to see if you use glasses or try to see the date from far away.

Aviator F-Series Men’s Vintage World War II Pilot Design Watch

best pilot watch under 500

This watch evokes an old-fashioned style and appears as it came right out of the 1940s and 50s. It uses a contrasting white dial background with black lettering and three subdials marked for 60 seconds, 60 minutes, and 1/10th of a second respectively. Each subdial has different border coloring for easy recognition.

The hands are made to be luminous and easy to see in the dark. They are protected in a waterproof stainless steel case that can easily withstand rain or water down to 100 meters. It uses Japanese Quartz movement to maintain accurate timekeeping.

Why We Like It

We really enjoy the aesthetic on display here. The brown strap evokes a simpler timer but the dial casing is still made with scratch-resistant mineral crystal glass. It combines vintage design with modern safety and efficiency.

We also really like that the subdials are colored slightly differently. It helps to tell them apart, and it makes the entire dial case look a little less crowded since all the icons aren’t the same colors. There’s a lot of information on display with this watch but it never seems to be too much.

What Could be Better

The band isn’t made of genuine leather, which does hurt it somewhat. It keeps the watch affordable, but you can definitely tell the difference when you’re wearing the timepiece. In addition, the minute and hour hands of the clock would be better off black instead of white with black borders, as they are currently.

Still, these nitpicks are minor when considering the overall charm of the watch as a whole.

Seiko Men’s SNN241 Stainless Steel Watch with Brown Leather Band

best pilot watch under 500

Black isn’t the right color for everybody. If brown is more your style, try the Seiko Men’s SNN241 Stainless Steel Watch with Brown Leather Band. It’s affordable and made with a stainless-steel case that protects two subdials and a date window at the 6 o’clock position. The leather band is comfortable and can be secured with a buckle.

It’s also fairly water-resistant down to 100 meters and it uses a Japanese quartz movement, so you know you’re getting accurate time consistently, even well into the watch’s lifespan. You can also use the inbuilt chronograph to measure up to 60 minutes of activity.

Why We Like It

This is an extremely attractive watch for its aesthetic alone. The white hands are luminous and easy to pick out as they contrast with the brown dial. We also really like that the strap is made from genuine leather, which makes its affordable price all the more outstanding. It’s hard to come by decent timepieces if you’re on a budget, so we’re glad this option exists.

Because of the leather band, this watch is incredibly comfortable to wear even though it’s a little larger and heavier than some folks might be used to. This model is very similar to the micro brand Jack Mason aviator model.

What Could be Better

The Crystal dial window is protected by Hardlex material, which isn’t as durable as it sounds. Scratching the face of this watch is a little easier when compared to other contemporary watch faces. This isn’t a huge deal given the low asking price, but it’s still something to consider.

Citizen Eco-Drive Men’s Stainless Steel Leather Avion Watch

best pilot watch under 500

The Citizen Eco-Drive Men’s Stainless Steel Leather Avion Watch also combines a black dial, white hands, and a brown wristband for an old-fashioned look. The wristband here is made from calfskin leather, meaning it’s soft and comfortable for a long time before it starts to wear out. The silver watch border is made from stainless steel and combines with a mineral dial window.

This watch also uses Japanese quartz movement. It only loses a couple of seconds of time per day at maximum, so you won’t have to reset your watch very frequently. It can also resist water down to about 100 meters of depth.

Why We Like It

We really enjoy the overall feel and size of this watch. It’s comfortable to wear and the white hands set against the black dial keep all of the necessary time information easy to parse no matter what the light level is.

You also get a chronograph that measures up to 60 minutes, a date window, and a 12/24 hour time dial set on the right-hand side of the center circle. It fits a lot of information onto its dial without being too cluttered or confusing, with the exception of the date window which is easily hidden amongst the other aspects.

What Could be Better

Indeed, the date is easy to lose and that’s a clear con in our eyes. In addition, the watch face can feel pretty heavy due to its overall thickness. While this does help to protect the watch from damage, it can feel a little clunky or awkward, especially since it appears to the modern style with pilot watches that are larger rather than smaller.

Conclusion

Overall, these are the choices of best pilot watches under 500 if you’re looking for a good timepiece that can last you for a while without breaking the bank. Nevertheless, there are high-end options in the market for pilots, which may satisfy the most exquisite tastes;  to have a 30,000-foot overview of some of them, you can read our Best Pilot Watch article.

Akribos Watch Review

Akribos Watch Review

If you are looking for a timepiece that won’t break the bank, you might want to take a look at what the brand Akribos has to offer.

Akribos watches may not be the considered forever-keepers, they make a fine starting point for those who are looking to explore the world of mechanical skeletons. For this Akribos watch review, we’ll take a look at the various models in its collection plus a quick introduction to the brand itself.

The Akribos Watch Story

Akribos Watch Review

From the Akribos XXIV official website, the company prides itself to be a creator of fashion-forward timepieces:

All words used to describe Akribos XXIV products still can’t begin to explain the beauty and attention to fashion our products so clearly display. Staying ahead of the fashion curve is bread-and-butter, and our watches do it with breathtaking style and aplomb.

Although they’re not particularly a well-known brand, Akribos has been in the industry for more than a decade. The brand specializes in timepieces that feature elegant style and classic lines for a sleeker wearing experience. Akribos watches are modern and sophisticated but still manages to be traditional and understated as well. However, Akribos also offers watches that are on the trendier and sportier side of things.

The Akribos HQ is located in Brooklyn, NY and the company has recently partnered with Swarovski for creating timepieces for women. However, it’s worth noting that Akribos XXIV watches are actually made in Hong Kong using high-quality Swiss parts and designs.

Akribos Watch Review

Below, we have taken a look at some of the best watches the Akribos brand has to offer. If you are looking to give this brand a try, we highly recommend that you start with the following models.

Akribos XXIV AK625SS Chronograph

  • Display Type: Analog
  • Clasp: Buckle
  • Case Material: Stainless Steel
  • Case Diameter: 42.5 millimeters
  • Case Thickness: 12.5 millimeters
  • Band Material: Stainless Steel
  • Movement: Swiss Quartz
  • Water Resistance: 165 feet

This is one of the more popular watches from Akribos’ stable and for good reason.

The Akribos XXIV AK625SS Chronograph Watch is an excellent choice if you want a timepiece that is both smart and sharp, and suitable for any outing.

As far as looks go, the AK625SS is bold and beautiful with an unmistakable masculine aesthetic. The large face really adds to the striking look of the watch. The luminescent filled blued hour and minute hands help wrap up the overall profile of the piece.

In terms of comfort, I have to say that it gets the job done. The stainless steel mesh bracelet feels good on the wrist but it’s not very adjustable.

The AK625SS offers incredible value and it keeps time well.

Akribos XXIV Retro Swiss Quartz Watch

Akribos Watch Review

  • Display Type: Analog
  • Clasp: Buckle
  • Case Material: Stainless Steel
  • Case Diameter: 40 millimeters
  • Case Thickness: 11 millimeters
  • Band Material: Leather Calfskin
  • Movement: Swiss Quartz
  • Water Resistance: 99 feet

The Akribos XXIV Retro Swiss Quartz Watch is a perfect fit for fans of retro timepieces.

One of the first things you’ll notice about this watch is that it’s larger and thicker than expected. It also feels rather stiff out of the box. However, that became a non-issue after wearing it in the shower one day. It’s more flexible and comfortable now.

I love the classic look of the watch, especially with the beautiful leather strap. However, there are some legibility issues. Depending on the time of the day, the hands can be hard to see against the beautiful cream background.

It’s a proper retro watch that you can wear to church.

Akribos XXIV AK736BK Casual Watch

Akribos Watch Review

  • Display Type: Analog
  • Clasp: Fold-over
  • Case Material: Black Ion Plated Alloy
  • Case Diameter: 45 millimeters
  • Case Thickness: 11 millimeters
  • Band Material: Stainless Steel Wrapped Alloy
  • Movement: Swiss Quartz
  • Water Resistance: 33 feet

I love black watches so I was immediately drawn to the Akribos XXIV AK736BK Casual Watch.

The watch features a round dial with luminous hands and day, date, and GMT (24-hour) subdial functions. It’s a black on black design but with fairly legible hands so I have no complaints. The 45 mm case with mineral sapphire-coated crystal dial window is nothing special but I wish they used better quality material.

The watch fits big and I had to bust out my watch tool kit to adjust the chain links. Other than that, it feels comfortable and rather light on the wrist. It features some water resistance but only for light splashes, so please don’t wear this in the shower.

It’s an affordable piece that’s perfect for daily use.

Akribos XXIV Women’s AK742 Watch

Akribos Watch Review

  • Display Type: Analog
  • Clasp: Buckle
  • Case Material: Metal
  • Case Diameter: 30 millimeters
  • Case Thickness: 10 millimeters
  • Band Material: Satin
  • Movement: Swiss Quartz
  • Water Resistance: 33 feet

Now, here’s a stylish watch for the ladies.

The Akribos XXIV Women’s AK742 Watch is an easy recommendation if you’re in the market for an inexpensive women’s watch. The clean, blush dial is truly eye-catching and the rose gold color gives the watch an elegant, feminine aesthetic. It even came with a gorgeous box.

The watch face has a nice medium size – not too small or large. The strap is made from satin fabric and it’s rather puffy. Thus, it needs some getting used to. Plus, the strap can be quite stiff as well but it should loosen up after a few weeks of wear.

This is a beautiful and elegant watch and it’s available at an insanely economical price.

Akribos XXIV AK618RG Element Watch

Akribos Watch Review

  • Display Type: Analog
  • Clasp: Buckle
  • Case Material: Stainless Steel
  • Case Diameter: 44 millimeters
  • Case Thickness: 9.6 millimeters
  • Band Material: Leather
  • Movement: Japanese Quartz
  • Water Resistance: 99 feet

If you’re the minimalist type, the Akribos XXIV AK618RG Element Watch might just be your next dress watch.

Right out of the box, I was impressed with how the AK618RG looks. It’s just a classic timepiece with a timeless presentation. The face is quite large so it might not be ideal for those with small wrists. The dial looks minimal which is just the way I like it when wearing dress watches.

However, the build quality is not the best and the leather strap leaves a lot to be desired. But I love the watch face so much that I was compelled to replace the strap with a better-quality leather one. Also, it’s worth mentioning that the watch features more of a rose-colored tint rather than brown based on the picture.

The AK618RG is a fairly decent dress watch for a very affordable price.

Akribos XXIV AK727SSB Chronograph Watch

Akribos Watch Review

  • Display Type: Analog
  • Clasp: Buckle
  • Case Material: Stainless Steel
  • Case Diameter: 49 millimeters
  • Case Thickness: 15 millimeters
  • Band Material: Leather
  • Movement: Japanese Quartz
  • Water Resistance: 99 feet

The Akribos XXIV AK727SSB Chronograph Watch is another noteworthy product offered by the brand.

For starters, the watch came in gorgeous packaging which certainly made a lasting impression on me. Upon holding the watch, you can tell that Akribos did a good job with regards to build quality. The dial includes the usual features like 60 seconds, 60-minute timer, and GMT (24 hours) sub-dials, as well as the date window. Keep in mind that this is a fairly large watch at 49 mm case diameter.

However, the leather strap is quite stiff and can be uncomfortable with extended wear. Upon using it for a couple of weeks, there have been signs of cracking which is not good for a leather strap. I’m thinking of replacing the strap with a true leather one.

Overall, this is a solid Chronograph if you can get past the strap issues.

Akribos XXIV AK1002TTB Diver Watch

Akribos Watch Review

  • Display Type: Analog
  • Clasp: Fold-over Clasp
  • Case Material: Stainless Steel
  • Case Diameter: 46 millimeters
  • Case Thickness: 22 millimeters
  • Band Material: Stainless Steel
  • Movement: Japanese Quartz
  • Water Resistance: 50 meters

Last but not least, we have a dive watch for you. The Akribos XXIV AK1002TTB Diver Watch is a budget-friendly dive watch that might just serve you well.

The watch can be submerged up to 50 meters, so it’s a fairly standard dive piece. Plus, it’s an attractive watch which means that you can use this watch for daily use if you want. The bracelet is also surprisingly well-made and better than expected at this price. For a quartz movement, it’s accurate enough so far.

If I have some complaints, the main one concerns the bezel which is just sloppy. Another disappointing drawback is the hands have no lume at all, so visibility becomes a major issue once the sun goes down.

This is functional, inexpensive, and for the price, you’re getting a lot from this dive watch.

Are Akribos Watches Any Good?

For such an unknown brand, many of you are probably asking if Akribos watches are worth the asking price.

From most of my experience as well as from actual customer feedback, these watches are exactly the case of “getting what you paid for.” These stylish watches look great and many of them feature eye-catching designs that can really leave a lasting impression. However, the watches have their fair share of complaints.

One of the most common complaints about Akribos watches is that they tend to wear out too soon. The quality of the materials used is simply not that good, especially when compared to brands like Seiko or Citizen.

However, perhaps the most glaring complaint about the brand is the quality of their customer support. Many customers have related bad experiences with the company’s customer service. This tends to lead to poor ratings and is not acceptable in this day and age.

On the other hand, there are long-time Akribos users who swear by the brand and claim that they have gotten a lot of value from their purchase. Many of them treat their Akribos as backup watches that look good even when compared with more expensive pieces. Many like their Akribos because it allows them to wear a traditional watch but can still showcase the “fun” side of their personality.

Final Thoughts

Akribos may not be a well-known brand in the industry but they do have a healthy selection of models in their product line-up. From fashion-centric pieces to dive watches, Akribos should be able to accommodate anyone who’s looking for an affordable timepiece.

As you might expect from budget-friendly models, there are some apparent dips in quality with several of their products. That’s understandable since they have to cut corners somewhere.

Despite that, Akribos offers some of the best inexpensive watches that you can get.

Akribos XXIV Women’s Watch Review

Akribos XXIV Women's Watch Review

Hello ladies, (and gentleman looking to buy your special lady a watch). Today we have a broad review covering the Akribos XXIV brand. Akribos has a long list of watches under the XXIV model for women, all with different attributes and specific features. My goal is to help you narrow the choices down to a few of the cleanest, most beautiful timepieces by Akribos that are sure to win over your heart! (Not every Akribos XXIV watch will do that.). Let me expand on the Akribos XXIV Women’s Watch Review.

Overview of the Brand

Long story short, these are fashion watches. Akribos watches are made for luxury design and wear, NOT for reliability and high-grade functions. These watches are perfect for those who love a beautifully curated watch, that does not necessarily have to last for generations. The styles are undeniably great, especially for women since the brand working with the luxury jewelry makers, Swarovski. Akribos creates most of their pieces with basic quartz movements and some decent automatic movements.

The watches are made anywhere from China to Japan and some even in Switzerland. All of their watches are water-resistant up to 10 meters or 33 feet. These watches are not at all meant for recreational activities and water sports. So prepare to wear these out to places that involve minor activities like shopping and going out to eat.

Not much information is given about the Akribos brand on their website. For the most part, you can see their sales initiative toward selling fashionable watches. The watches are also quite affordable. But be forewarned, the prices are astonishingly cheaper on Amazon when compared to the company’s website. Keep that in mind when purchasing.

So if you have come to the conclusion that style and beauty are the main aspects you look for in a watch, Akribos XXIV is probably a watch for you.

Glimmer Collection XXIV

The Glimmer Collection by Akribos may be the most beautiful that the brand has released. Boasting models with diamonds, silver and gold bracelets, and sexy cases, that stand out to the most materialistic people, excluding the Kardashians.

Unique Features

The watch featured above boasts a great size, a 36mm case with a Swarovski crystal bezel insert. A pure beauty on the wrist to say the least. With the polished stainless steel link bracelet, the watch really does shine bright!

On the face, you have a time, date, and month. The inside of the watch hosts an ISA Swiss quartz. Not necessarily a great movement, but it gets the job done. Many people report that the watch works just fine. And quite frankly, that’s all you need in a fashion watch.

The piece also has large Roman Numerals on the face, keeping the watch looking classy and modern. Akribos created a very wearable watch with the Glimmer collection. There is quite a variety of watches in this model, but the AK872 is by far the prettiest (in my humble opinion). You can get the exact watch above in either silver, yellow gold, silver with gold links, or even rose gold. No matter which color scheme you decide to go with, they pair great with any outfit, casual or professional.

When comparing this watch with many other fashion watches, the Akribos is much more affordable. You get similar looks compared to much more expensive brands, with a considerably lower price tag. You really get a bang for the buck with this purchase!

Lumen Collection

Model Ak776

Now, this watch is definitely a neck turner. Not sure if it’s in a good way or not. I personally find this watch to be overly designed. The watch looks like diamonds were just glued on to make the watch look expensive. It’s not expensive, it’s not top quality, so why Akribos, why?  Please do not let my opinion lead you astray, many people seem to love this watch. The flashy yellow gold AK776 has some great reviews on Amazon, so it may be a watch on your radar.

This watch has a larger 40mm alloy case with a yellow gold color all around. It also has the time, day, and month on the face, however, instead of Roman Numerals like the Glimmer collection, this watch simply has large gold numbers. I’d say this is definitely a watch to wear with a nice flashy outfit. I am sure it will be a conversation starter.

The inside of the watch is the same on this one. As is almost every feature. The only difference on this one is the design, case size ANNNNNND that’s about it.

Empire Collection

One watch is a nice addition to the wrist. But what about two for one! The Empire collection has a deal on Amazon, two watches for the price of one: You can get that here: Akribos XXIV Silver-Tone Ladies Watch Set AK677SS

Original is a word that pops into my mind when viewing the Akribos Empire collection. This line of the brand embraces casual watch wear. A feminine look connects with a shiny dial to create a look unlike any other watch by Akribos.

The watches above have a nice size case at 31mm and 1mm thick. A case size around 30-33 is usually a great fit on a women’s wrist; not too small or too bulky. The bracelet is 100% stainless steel and designed in a loopy pattern to just wind ever so gently around the wrist. These types of lugs cling to your wrist, so it doesn’t really stick out like some watches. The watches can slide right under your favorite shirt and feel light and comfortable.

Again, these watches have the same mechanics on the inside. Overall, this is a great collection by Akribos and worth a try if you like watches with a flare!

Ador Collection

I really adore this collection (corny). But honestly, the Ak760 model below is a more classic look by Akribos. I love the sunburst blue dial, it goes well with the gold hands and bracelet of the watch.

A classic watch jointed with a bright sunburst blue and shiny gold really makes this watch one of my favorites by Akribos. A great 42mm case fits perfectly with the 13mm thickness. Slightly large for a women’s watch, but it helps make the face stand out, bursting blue to all those who make eye contact.

On the inside, you will find a Swiss Quartz. A decent movement that will tell the time and do just that. Nothing about this watch is amazing. It is simply a nice looking, stylish timepiece.

Ornate Collection

I just had to add this Akribos AK953 model for all of the ANIMAL and NATURE lovers out there. I mean, come on, how cute is this watch. It is really creative how the brand can go from making such stylish and fancy looking watches to the other end of the spectrum; cute and casual! Although it may look like a watch fit for younger teens and young adults, I think a person of any age can pull it off. Wear this watch on a warm sunny day at the beach (don’t wear it in the water), to a family get together, or heck, whenever you want to!

The watch features a 42mm stainless steel case, with a sapphire coated crystal and a triple row bracelet. Having the triple row bracelet makes space for the gold lining going around the band that compliments the bezel and designs inside the face. You still get the Swarovski genuine diamonds inside, with two gold, diamond filled dolphins, and an ocean/sunset background. What is awesome about this watch is that you can also get a butterfly design in the face (AWESOME)!

Although I am not one to usually review a watch with crafted pictures inside. I just thought it was very appropriate when reviewing the Akribos brand. How many adult ladies’ watches do you see out there with etched patterns inside and still maintain a good look? Let me answer that for you, not many!

Final Verdict on the Akribos XXIV Women’s Watch Review

Overall, Akribos does create some good looking watches. Like I mentioned a few times in the article, that is what they are for. They create FASHION watches. Do not expect a timepiece at this price and quality to run like a Rolex or even a more comparable Seiko.

If style outweighs durability and mechanics then there is no reason not to buy an Akribos. Because all of the watches have the same functions, for the most part, and mechanics, I’ll let you decide which model is best. But if your dying to know, I would say my favorite is the Akribos Ak872 under the Glimmer Collection.

Not many watches as beautiful as these come by so affordable. You can purchase multiple Akribos watches for the price of one designer watch like Burberry! So when it comes down to it, you can not go wrong flaunting your brilliant Akribos watches, that come in all styles and designs. You can own many of the models and each one looks like a totally different brand. Another reason why I like Akribos, how they focus on variety.

So to make my long review of the brand very simple.  Yes, the Akribos xxiv ladies’ watches are worth the price. And remember, you can NOT BEAT the prices on Amazon; Amazon is also a reliable source when it comes to purchasing watches.

Ladies, enjoy your new watch or watches by Akribos. And keep your style changing!

Gucci Watches Review: Here are Some of Their Best Pieces

Gucci Watches Review

Today we are talking all about Gucci, Gucci, Gucci. And no, handbags and designer clothing are not what will be discussed. We are talking about GUCCI WATCHES Review!

Now, we all know that the name Gucci basically means expensive and luxury in fashion (Yes, fashion is a language). But we don’t typically think of watches, or at least, I don’t think of watches. I must say that I am very surprised by some of the watches Gucci has to offer. So when it comes down to it, if you are in the market for a designer watch that has some great quality pieces. Gucci may be for you.

Gucci Watches Review – Best Gucci Models

Gucci Dive Watch

Yes, you read that correctly. Gucci has a dive watch. And I have to say it looks pretty decent.

If you are a fan of dive watches but can not see yourself dropping thousands on a Rolex or similar brand, then the dive watch by Gucci is probably for you. The design mimics the classic Sea Dweller but with an all-black look.

Design

The Gucci dive watch comes with a stainless steel, 45mm case. A bit larger when compared to most dive watches on the market, so if you are not a fan of large cases, or you have a smaller wrist, than this may not be a great fit.  I really like the large case in this instance. The larger case truly stands out so you can see that Gucci emblem from a mile away.

The dial is a very dark black. With bold, silver writing inside of the face. The rotating black bezel also features the silver color for the numbers and tick marks. This is a great contrast if you decide to purchase the model with a black band (featured above). You can also swap the black stainless steel band for a silver stainless steel band. Either colorway looks great with any outfit you can think of. This is a very professional looking timepiece, that also looks just as well as a casual watch or even underwater (hence its name). I mean, I don’t know about you though, but I’m not going underwater in my Gucci watch.

Other Features

Another great feature is the sapphire crystal. It is not a feature that is noticeable but is of higher quality than some other major designer brand watches. Overall, the design of the Gucci Dive watch is classic. Not much is going on inside the dial, simply a dark, intense black with shiny silver coloring inside marking hands and minute marks. Like I mentioned earlier, it is a bit large. But seems to fit well because it just looks like a big, bulky intimidating watch marked with the high-class Gucci name. I think the large size was a STATEMENT by Gucci.

Durability

Not many designer watches (Burberry, Versace, etc) can handle depths up to 200m below the sea. This feature alone is why it is one of my favorite designer watches, even though I made the statement that I would never go underwater with my Gucci watch. Why so? Well, I honestly do not trust it as much as a top-notch Rolex dive watch and why would you risk breaking your Gucci watch? You aren’t going diving with your Gucci shoes, right?

Ok, back to the point. Due to the bold stainless steel bulky case, scratch-resistant sapphire crystal, and stainless steel bracelet, the Gucci Dive holds its own when it comes to durability.

Movement

The movement is not great on this watch, or really any Gucci watches. You will find it to be able to keep time at a decent rate. Swiss quartz is the only information that Gucci provides. So it can be assumed that this is a pretty basic movement, put inside of a fashion watch.

Why a Designer Dive Watch

So overall, this is not an outstanding watch when compared to other dive watches. However, I must say, being a designer watch you do not expect to see a dive watch in the first place. Which is why the dive watch by Gucci is so unique and definitely a must-have by all dive watch and materialistic people.

Gucci G Timeless Quartz

Wow! Look at this gorgeous timepiece.

Designer Watch

Now, this is what I think of when I hear “designer watch.” A flashy and shiny, two-toned beauty. The colors blend perfectly, giving this watch a great look that can be worn with your favorite business attire. A light-colored rose gold detail looks fantastic with the silver stainless steel band, rose gold bezel, and dark grey dial.

At 38mm, this is more of a “good fit” when compared to the Gucci Dive watch. What makes this watch interesting is the sapphire crystal has an anti-reflective coating inside. Making it easier to see the dial of this beauty, even in the middle of the desert.

The small shapes within the dial make the whole look of this watch. Many top watch brands keep their dials plain inside. Here, you get a unique design that is sure to be an attention grabber while the rose gold hand ticks around the beautiful shapes.

Durability

You should not be disappointed with the strength of this watch. A really great feature is that it can withstand up to 50m of water pressure. Gucci actually says you can go recreational swimming in this watch. I, myself, would not go swimming with such a nice watch on my wrist. And even though the crystal is scratch-resistant, I am not risking damaging this watch.

Overall, you can expect this watch to hold its own. The waterproofing and scratch-resistant crystal make this watch more durable than other watches with similar, smaller styles.

Movement

An analog quartz movement is what you get with this watch. Nothing spectacular, but it will do the job. One thing I must say is when I review designer watches, the movements are not as important to me as when I am reviewing a Rolex or another automatic watch. If I am buying a designer watch, I am purchasing it for looks and, yeah looks!

That being said, no, this is not an AMAZING movement. It is decent quartz that will be able to tell the time.

The Chronograph

You can never go wrong with a nice chronograph watch.

The chronograph by Gucci is quite simple for a chronograph. Stainless steel band and bezel with a dark black dial. Slight color contrast is introduced with the red second’s hand as well as a red screw-in crown.

Simple yet Stylish

This chronograph has a 43mm case. It’s actually a very good size for a chronograph and does not look as complex and confusing inside the dial like many chronographs. Gucci made a simple watch, that looks great and functions well.

Look to wear this watch with anything. I would not say it’s as dressy as the G Timeless watch, but it can be worn with a nice dark suit or dark dress shirt. The fashion critic deep inside wants me to say stay with dark colors. But hey, DO YOU!

Durability

Scratch-resistant sapphire crystal, Check!

Water-resistance? Yes, up to 30m under the deep blue sea.

A heavy, strong stainless steel band? Of course!

Nothing makes this watch absurdly durable, though it is just as durable as the others I have reviewed.

Gucci G Timeless AUTOMATIC

You have to save the best for last sometimes. This is hands down my favorite watch by Gucci.

Design

Simple, yet elegant. The G Timeless Automatic by Gucci is a breathtaking timepiece that has a movement on par with higher-end watches. Which is why I love it.

38mm stainless steel case, a polished silver bezel, and a diamond-patterned, black textured dial. The gold bar hour markers are a perfect addition to this piece, offering a perfect contrast to make this a VERY wearable and luxury watch.

The link bracelet is a great part of this watch as well. Adding a similar look to models. Although I love Rolex Datejust models, and actually own a few myself, I believe the style of the Gucci G Timeless is more appealing and modern! A perfect watch for the price!

Durability

This watch is not super durable, definitely not like the Gucci Dive, but it still has a few good features going for it. 5ATM water resistance, which basically means it can take a quick drop in the pool, you can have it on in some light rain and hey, it can even take a fall in the toilet. Do NOT go swimming with this watch. It is not suitable for water activities.

The stainless steel has a good weight, 16oz, and it is of good material and polish. Scratches are not as noticeable on this watch, so it can take a few minor bangs.

Movement

A Swiss automatic movement. Not a piece usually found inside designer watches. It is nice to see an automatic mechanical movement in a designer brand’s timepiece.

As for accuracy. It is nothing special. Some reviews on Amazon claim that they have to reset the time every other day. For me, simply watching the second-hand glide around the dial is much more soothing than a slow and steady tick. So although the movement on this piece isn’t fantastic, hey, it’s still an automatic!

Final Verdict on Gucci Brand Watches

Serious watch collectors probably would never think of purchasing a designer watch, let alone a Gucci piece. Do not let this keep you from purchasing a Gucci. Gucci watches are contemporary, well designed, luxury watches, that have a great name in fashion.

The watches they create are attractive and look good with almost any type of outfit. If crazy accurate movements and immense history are not very important to you when buying a watch, Gucci watches are a good choice. Make sure to purchase your watch from a trustworthy website. Happy watch shopping!
