Best Watches For Paramedics

Best Watch for Paramedics and active medical professionals

Today we will be reviewing and highlighting the best watches for paramedics. A paramedic’s job is EXTREMELY important; so having a watch that can accurately keep time and function properly is a must!

The job of an EMT, or paramedic, involves a lot of moving around, being on duty for long hours, and subject to water or other types of fluids. So while accuracy is a very important feature, durability is the top quality of paramedic watches as well!

You will soon find out that the Timex Expedition Gallatin is the BEST watch for paramedics! Why is that? Because of the durability, price, and easy to read dial. It also is a plus that owners rave about the watches tough build.  It is difficult to find a negative review for this watch!

Timex Expedition Gallatin

For the first watch of the day, we are reviewing the Timex Expedition Gallatin. Timex is a watchmaker with a long history. They are known for making durable sports and military watches, which happen to be a  great choice for paramedics.

Best Watches For Paramedics

The Timex Expedition Gallatin is about as good as it gets for a paramedic watch. It is a durable watch with a fast wrap velcro band, and a lightweight but strong, resin case. It is also a waterproof timepiece ( up to 50 meters) so it can handle water damage. The Gallatin is also easy to read. You can see the black hand tick around the large 44 mm case and the dial even lights up with a push of a button.

An All-Around Watch

This watch is great for ANY wear: The Timex is definitely a top watch for any EMT or paramedic. You get the best of all of the other watches but in a sleek, dark design. Think of this watch as you GO TO. It fits in with any attire, so it can be worn long after a shift as well.

The Timex Expedition Gallatin is the best watch for EMT.

Top Features

  • Durability: I am going to give the durability rating on this piece a 4.5/5. It is a watch that can take anything you put in its path. So the job of a paramedic got NOTHING on the Gallatin.
  • It doesn’t cost much:  It may not be the cheapest watch in the review today, but I would say it is the best VALUED watch.
  • Multiple Designs: You can find this watch in a variety of colorways and designs. There are different band materials, colors etc..
  • Light up Dial: Working in the dark? No problem. The Timex has a bright, luminescent dial, activated easily with a push of a button

G-Shock GA100-1A1

Best Watches For Paramedics

Here we have the beautiful G-Shock GA100. A perfect watch for the job of any medical professional.

G-Shocks are known for their rough, durable designs. In fact, they are actually designed for military wear. So if a military medic can be found wearing one of these bad boys, I am sure it is a perfect choice for paramedics who are not at war. It’s one of the best watches for paramedics.

What else makes the G-Shock a great choice is the unique features and attributes of this piece. It is anti-magnetic, has a full auto-programmed calendar and a fully functional stopwatch. Similar to the Timex, you can also activate a light on this watch. This comes in handy when working in the dark!

Great Functionality

Why the G-Shock is one of my top choices for paramedics is definitely because of all the add-ons and the functionality of the piece.  You do not need to worry about medical equipment interfering with your watches movement on this piece. You also have a stopwatch on you at all times, that is easy to use.

Highlights

  • Anti-Magnetic: The G-Shock has built-in, anti-magnetic qualities that protect against the electricity given off from some medical devices.
  • Shock Resistant: Any fall or slam is no match for the G-Shock GA100. It is a true BEAST!
  • Nice size: With a 37mm case, this watch is sure to fit nicely on a wrist of any size.

Seiko SKX007

Best Watches For Paramedics

Simply look up Seiko SKX007 on a Google search and you will be amazed at all the reviews that come up from happy EMT and EMS workers. The Seiko is a durable watch that is built with an AUTOMATIC MOVEMENT ( my favorite movement). The reason this watch is not on the top like the G-Shock and Timex is that it is slightly more expensive than both. DO NOT let that turn you off though. Many happy customers are glad that they chose a Seiko and it is sure to last long and stay functional for a long time!

Automatic Movement

If you have read any of my reviews before, you know I LOVE automatic movements on watches. I mean, to me this is what defines a TIMEPIECE. The Seiko SKX may not have the best automatic movement in the world, but it still has one. Owners are extremely happy with the movement of this piece. Expect just a few seconds off per month!

Highlights

  • Quality Japanese automatic movement
  • Water resistance up to 200 Meters
  • 42 mm Stainless steel case
  • Beautiful dive watch design

EMT Aquaforce

If you imagined what an EMT watch would look like, without ever seeing one, this is probably what you would be thinking of (at least it’s what I saw in my wild imagination).

Best Watches For Paramedics

EMT Aquaforce

There is nothing fancy about this watch, nothing at all. But if a luxury design is what is important to you, rather than functionality, you may be in the wrong profession (can I get a different paramedic please)? But seriously, you will be the definition of a true EMT with this watch. It comes in an all-black design, with a light feel and a flexible band.

Made for an EMT

Not much can be found on the Aquaforce. But there is no doubt at all that it was made for an EMT/paramedic.  It is towards the bottom of today’s review because it is not as durable as the other watches on the list for paramedics. Some owners have claimed that their bands have broke. Other than that, it is a functional watch that is simplistic and will do its job.

Highlights

  • Design: EMT inspired design in the dial
  • Size: Large 47mm case
  • Simplistic: Simple, all black band with a black case

Fanmis S-Shock

Best Watches For Paramedics

Our last watch of the day looks VERY VERY similar to a G-Shock. Funny, it is called S-Shock… (I wonder why).

Fanmis S-Shock

The Fanmis was added to today’s review because it is the most AFFORDABLE piece on this list.  This is a watch that is durable and reliable, without breaking the bank. You can expect almost everything you get with a G-Shock but a lot cheaper!  This is a LARGE watch, 51mm case diameter. It has a silicone, rubber band, and an ABC plastic case; with that, you can understand why we choose it as one of the best watches for paramedics.

Affordability

Although the Fanmis is not as regarded as a G-Shock. That does not mean this watch is not good. It has almost EVERY feature that a G-Shock has, just downgraded a bit. The killer reason why this is a must by piece though lies in the price. Look at getting about four of these watches for the price of one G-Shock!

Top Features

  • PRICE: The most affordable watch in today’s review
  • Technology: Anti-Magnetic Anti-Vibration ( not as strong as G-Shock, but reliable) I would not test it out with an AED… (CLEAR)!
  • Durability: Plastic and rubber materials that can take on scratches, bumps, and falls and up to 50 M water resistance
  • Timekeeping; Full calendar and stopwatch with a quartz movement

Curtain Call/ The Final Verdict

I hope everyone found this review helpful today in purchasing a watch. My thought process today while reviewing was to find five watches that are highly reviewed by paramedics and are durable pieces that can handle the workload of a paramedic/EMT. At the end of the day, you can not go wrong with any of these watches, but in particular the Timex Gallatin, or the G-Shock GA100. It is hard to pick a solid winner, so I will leave that decision up to YOU!

When purchasing a watch for your career as a paramedic, keep in mind that looks are not everything. I tried to pick the best-looking watches, that have rigid, strong, durable features and are still not hideous. In no way are any of these watches a Rolex or an Omega; but in contrast, they are strong watches that can take on the important role of assisting a paramedic in their day-to-day work. Rest assured these are the best watches for paramedics.

Remember as always, when purchasing a watch make sure you buy from a reliable source like Amazon! If you keep that in mind, you can ensure that you are buying an authentic watch and typically with warranties. Happy watch shopping my friends!

Best Watches For Nursing Students

best watches for nursing students

Whether or not you believe wristwatches are a vital (get it) part of a nurse’s job; there is no doubt that they come in handy. In medical school, watches are just as important. Accurate timekeeping for heart rates, breathing, and checking every five minutes to see when it’s time to go home (kidding).

Because telling accurate time as a nursing student is so important, a durable, comfortable, and reliable timepiece is needed to get the job done. Sorry fashionistas but while you are in school, the best looking Rolex watches are not on the top of the list. Long story short, one of the BEST watches for nursing students, is the Nurse Mate Special – Uni Pink Watch. This watch can be comfortably worn and has special features that nurses will appreciate!

Nurse Mate Special – Uni Pink Watch

Instead of saving the best for last, why not begin with it?

best watches for nursing students

The Uni Pink Watch: I chose this watch as the best for a few reasons. For one, it is very comfortable and durable. The rubber bracelet is easily adjustable for any sized wrist and feels great while being worn. What also makes this watch a great choice for any nurse, or nursing student is the large numerical markers within the dial. Watch seekers can choose between the black and pink model featured above, or a white and black model. The model with bright pink numbers and large white military markers is easily the better choice because it is so much easier to read.

The plain, but pretty color scheme is also a highlight of this watch. It is definitely a piece that can be worn outside of school or the office because it can go with any outfit (stick to casual).

Comfortable and Easy to Read

I recommend this watch to those who are in need of an easy to read, comfortable watch for a GREAT price. Nurses rave about how this watch is EXTREMELY easy to read and very comfortable and stylish.

Casio Quartz Resin Casual Watch

best watches for nursing students

Another great choice for nursing students, the Casio “Casual Watch” has a plain design that is easy to read. Due to the simplistic design within the 35mm dial, you can easily read the slow and steady ticks of the quartz movement.

Highlights of this watch include water resistance up to 30m, a durable resin bracelet, and a resin glass dial window. This is also a unisex watch, and goes great with any choice of outfit; or scrubs of course!

Classic Simplicity

This is a watch for those who appreciate simplicity. The timepiece is very neutral, meaning it can go with anything you decide to wear. It is simply a basic, functional, and comfortable watch that gets the job done. Many present owners are extremely happy with this watch and find it as a handy piece in their day to day duties.

Timex Unisex “Weekender”

best watches for nursing students

The Weekender is a great addition to this list. This watch has a slightly different design than the last two that I reviewed. You get a brown “slip through” (easy to wear) strap on this and a stainless steel case. It looks more like a traditional dress watch and therefore can be worn with more of a dressy look.

What makes it a great choice for a medical student is the easy to read white dial with military time. A great feature that the Timex has is a light-up dial, so the watch can be used in darker areas.

Versatile

This watch is a great buy for those who want an easy to read dial but with varying styles. Because it comes with a slip through, leather strap, you can purchase many colors and designs that can easily be changed out. So in a way, it can seem like you have more than one watch.

Owners are happy with the watch’s functionality and how it has the ability to light up the dial. A perfect fit for any person in the medical profession!

Motorolla Moto 360 2ND Generation Smartwatch

best watches for nursing students

The Moto 360 is definitely a noteworthy mention on a list of best watches for nurses. What makes this watch so unique compared to other smartwatches on the market is the minute and second hands that the LCD dial displays. This makes it a perfect watch for those who need to keep track of each second.

The watch comes in a 42mm case for both males and females. If you have an Android 4.3+ or an iPhone with iOS 8.2+ then this watch is compatible with your phone.

Smartwatch

I chose this smartwatch because you get all of the benefits of a smartwatch, with an LCD screen that displays the important second hand and minute hand. This watch has been discontinued so to purchase you have to buy from a dealer online like Amazon. But because this is a smartwatch, you are going to pay MORE money than all of the other watches listed in this review. So keep that in mind!

Huawei Watch Stainless Steel

Yes, another smartwatch. But I bet you would never have guessed that the Huawei was even a smartwatch!

One of the best features of the Huawei watch is how it mimics a “normal,” or typical watch. At first glance, you would never think you are looking at a smartwatch. This is the case because the watch is fitted with a beautiful stainless steel bracelet and a bold stainless steel case.  The AMOLED display features multiple watch faces that you can choose from with ticking second hands.

This is the definition of a cool watch. You are sure to be the coolest nurse in the whole hospital.

Smart AND Stylish

For those who don’t mind wearing a stylish watch to school (or work) the Huawei is a perfect fit. Not only does it have features that are great for upcoming nurses; but man it looks great at the same time! I really love how Huawei was able to create a watch that LOOKS like an everyday timepiece but is actually a smartwatch. If smartwatches are your kind of watch, you can not go wrong with this piece.

Speidel Scrub Watch

Here’s a watch that was literally made for those in the medical profession.

best watches for nursing students

The Speidel is a PERFECT watch for anyone in the medical profession.  Speidel made this watch with pulse readings in mind, which is why the watch features a great sized 38mm case, a large white dial, and a RED ticking second hand.

Comfort is also a great plus with this watch. The silicone band is sure to feel great and fit for any wrist size. The best part about the band is there are MANY bands available to match your favorite pair of scrubs.  You can get a band in either pink, black, white, teal, blue, white leather, or stainless steel silver.

Usability and Affordability

This is downright a great watch for any nurse or medical professional. The easy to read dial, with military time and large tick marks, makes taking pulses a breeze. What really makes this watch great is the red ticking second hand. Not only is this a metaphor for blood (at least I think), but it is so much easier to keep up with the ticking hand, rather than a normal black hand that blends in with the tick marks.

Since this watch is so comfortable, durable, and matches with almost any scrubs that you pull out of the closet, it is one of the BEST choices on this list. And it is also very AFFORDABLE. Get ready to be the most stylish person in nursing school!

Whimsical Nurse Watch

best watches for nursing students

Wow, what a great name for this watch – Whimsical ! It can not get any better than this watch. I mean, how can you not like a watch that basically presents what you do within the dial of a watch? This watch is definitely not for anyone, but I am sure many can appreciate it.

What makes this watch a great choice for nursing students, or new nurses entering the profession, is the awesome design. However, the make of the watch is also a good choice for the medical world. It does come in a 42mm case with a smaller subdial within, that displays the time. It is not as easy to read as other watches on this review, but it can still be read. The quartz is known to be quite reliable as well, so battery changes shouldn’t come all that often.

Out of the Ordinary

No doubt, this watch is not for everyone. This makes a great gift for any nursing student or new nurse (with a sense of humor) and who appreciates cute gifts. Many nurses claim the watch is a great conversation starter and some even wear the watch EVERYWHERE that they go. Those who appreciate items and have a true passion for their profession will LOVE this unique timepiece.

Nursing Watches

You use watches for many, many reasons. Taking a pulse may be one of the first purposes that you think of, but other vital readings, administering medication, and lab charting are some other important reasons why as a nurse you may want a reliable timepiece.

I made a list of varying styles and types of watches to try and really hit everyone’s different likes and personalities. The most important features tend to be readability, a ticking hand, and durability.  But design, uniqueness, and innovation are other features that some find to be the deciding factor. At the end of the day, your purchase should be based on price range, functionality, and durability. Happy shopping and thank you to all nurses who are making a difference in the world, one tick at a time!

Best Military Watches Under 200

After reviewing tens of options in the market for the best military watches under 200 dollars, the Casio Men’s GA100-1A1 Military Series Watch in Black makes our top pick. It has the ability to stand up to heavy use and tough survival situations.

Most watches are fashion pieces made to serves a definite purpose, which is often to give you a good look. Unfortunately, even with this intention, not all are rugged enough to withstand distressing situations like severe weather, darkness, terrain, and altitude.

As an adrenaline junkie with an active outdoor lifestyle, these standard watches with less durability will fall apart at any instance and leave you without the time. Gladly, there are durable ones specifically built to survive conditions that standard watches won’t.

There are countless numbers of military watches on the internet with various advantages and disadvantages. But it is safe to say military watches generally have excellent styles. They also don’t have to be so expensive; they come with various price ranges to fit different budgets.

Casio Men’s G-SHOCK GA100-1A1 Military Watch – Top Pick

Best Military Watches Under 200

All Casio watches are made with some elements of durability, especially the G-SHOCK series – they are designed to resist mechanical shocks and vibrations. All the features on this G-SHOCK are exactly what you want from a Military watch. Some include the stopwatch, countdown timer, full calendar, both analog and digital movements, and programmed world time with 29 time zones.

Benefits / Drawbacks – Casio G-SHOCK GA100-1A1 Military Watch

Accurate to every millisecond, the Casio GA100-1A1 watch is a profitable decision and certainly one of the military watches you should consider. Let’s look into some of the features.

Extremely durable

The Casio Piece already has a decent tactical look, but to top, the fascinating factor of the watch is the rugged feel. It has a big sized military watch made with thick molded plastic wish. It is exceptionally durable to not only survive hits, drops, and excessive use, but also remain accurate and reliable.

Stopwatch and Countdown Timer

The stopwatch feature on the Casio GA100-1A1 is a 1/1000-seconds function with multiple measuring modes including, lap time, elapsed time, and split time. There is also a speed indicator as an advantage to keep the wearer well informed.

Full Calendar and World Time

The G-SHOCK Military Watch Series in Black proves excellence with the full auto-calendar pre-programmed till the year 2099. The watch is the perfect traveling companion equipped with 29 time zones to function in over 48 cities. It also has world time swapping option.

Comfortable to Use

From the dial rings and the raised hour marks, it has a three-dimensional look with an analog dial in the center and the digital dial on each side. Turning it from the original setting up to T3 puts the illumination ability above others. In dark places illumination already puts the worth of this watch weight in gold.

The combination of analog and digital movements, and the ability to illuminate adds to the readability comfort of the watch. These features allow its design to suit sports, outdoor activities, and military functions.

Other Picks

In addition to the Casio G-SHOCK GA100-1A1, there are other remarkable Military watches under 200. Let’s check out a few

SUUNTO Core All Black Military Watch – 2nd Choice

The Suunto Core watch is an amazing Military watch suitable for sports and outdoor activities. Although this timepiece may not be as expensive and sophisticated as Suunto Traverse Alpha. Following a military watch under 200 dollars, it can rank as second best.

The Suunto watches are designed to be dynamic and have a more modern look. Our Top pick – The Casio G-SHOCK has enough durability that is difficult to be compared to other watches. But when it comes to tactical features, no Military watch matches the Suunto.

Benefits / Drawbacks – Suunto Core Military Watch

Without a doubt, the Suunto Core watch is a durable timepiece. It is built with a round bezel and a scratch-resistant mineral crystal window to withstand distressing situations. The piece is equipped with three primary functions, which are the time, altimeter and barometer, and the compass mode. It would have been a perfect top pick for adventurers and military professionals, but it doesn’t come with a GPS.

Time Function

The watch displays accurate time on the upper half of the screen. A cool feature from the time mode is the moment of the sunrise and sunset that is shown below the time. The Suunto Core Military watch features the stopwatch, countdown timer, and alarm. It can be set on a two-time zone, to indicate the corresponding time for a secondary area different from your locality.

Altimeter and Barometer Function

The altimeter and barometer mode adds more interest to this piece. You can set it manually to measure altitude or barometric pressure, or even to pass from one to another. The watch records the measurement from a fixed interval in a log that can be consulted at any time.

Compass Function

The compass mode is another straightforward option that allows the timepiece to functions as a digital compass. The compass is a bit enhanced with the capability to set and lock on a specific destination.  It allows the user to follow through on a particular route with a directional arrow.

No GPS

The Suunto Core Military watch performs exactly as it says on the box. It has some cool features as we have mentioned, including the built-in thermometer. But for a highly recognized tactical Military Watch, it didn’t seem entirely fair for it to lack GPS.

Citizen Watches Men’s AT0200-05E Eco-Drive Chronograph Canvas – 3rd Choice

Best Military Watches Under 200

The stylish Citizen AT0200-05E Eco-Drive Chronograph Canvas watch is a military-inspired piece. For a rugged big sized watch with a comfortable fit and additional features. The Citizen AT0200-05E watch is qualified to be our third best Military watch within this price range.

The watch is a quality and reliable timepiece with a simple interface and green patterned stitching strap. It is a great option for anyone who needs a military watch that can also function in sports activities. The Citizen watch is as well good for casual outings.

Benefits / Drawbacks – Citizen AT0200-05E Eco-Drive Watch

The uniqueness of this watch is made evident with the durable round metal case combined with the green textile strap. The stainless steel case is brushed and not polished to keep the twinkles off the wrist.

Chronograph

The chronograph function is impressive and easy to operate. Compared to the 1/20 sec chronograph on some other watch brand, its Chrono is just one second measuring up to 60 minutes. It also features a 12/24 hour time.

Functional Dial

The simple black dial gives a backdrop for the luminous hands, bold Arabic numerals, and date at the 4:00 hour. It features three subdials; the top-right displays 24-hour format. The top left counts the minutes on the chronograph function while the bottom dial shows the ticking seconds hand.

Eco-Drive technology

The Eco-Drive Technology of the watch features an inbuilt solar battery. It is powered by any strong light source including sunshine or bright indoor lights to keep it from needing a battery.

A fully charged battery can supply energy for the watch to function for seven days. When the timepiece is running out of charge the seconds hand move in 2 seconds intervals to inform you that you need to recharge.

Water-Resistant

The Citizen AT0200-05E Eco-Drive watch is waterproof to a depth of 100 meters, which is not more than what other regular dress watches offer. This means it is wearable while swimming or snorkeling, but the piece is not recommended for scuba diving. We think it is a bit of a limitation on the watch since there are standard military watches that offer water resistance to a depth of 300 meters.

Conclusion

We can’t escape the fact that military watches are the most versatile timepieces and can also be a little too pricey. Considering their features and outstanding quality, their price tag is quite understandable. They are handy in times of training, hiking or other heavy outdoor activities and also on a typical normal day.

These are our overall picks on the best military watches under 200, just in case you want one without breaking the bank. Regardless, if these timepieces don’t suit your exquisite taste, there are excellent options of high-end Military watches in the market. You check out our Best Military watch article.

Best Watch for EMT

1. Casio G-Shock GW6900-1 Tough Solar

Best Watch for EMT

The Casio G-Shock has always been my go-to for watches that can deliver in terms of durability, legibility, and functionality. The Casio G-Shock GW6900-1 Tough Solar is exactly that and more.

Won’t Let You Down in the Field

The Casio G-Shock GW6900-1 is about as basic as you can get as far as tough watches go. However, it does offer a number of other functionalities that make it a worthy pickup.

Obviously, the main draw of this watch is its toughness. It features a shock-resistant construction which makes it highly resilient against vibration and impact. Just by feeling the watch alone, you can see that it can withstand the rough nature of an EMT’s job.

On top of the excellent durability and toughness, the watch also features 20-bar water resistance. From the shower to emergency water rescues, your watch will not give in just because it came in contact with water.

The GW6900-1 is also solar-powered which means that as long as you are wearing it, replacing the battery is a non-issue. The watch can still work even after 5-23 months of not receiving any light.

Best of all, the GW6900-1 is an affordable timepiece that’s currently on-sale for less than $100.

2. Garmin Tactix Charlie

Best Watch for EMT

The Garmin Tactix Charlie is somewhat of a premium pick. It’s not the most affordable in this best watch for EMT list but it’s an easy recommendation for those who are looking for a watch with a ton of features.

One Tool Watch to Rule Them All

The Garmin Tactix Charlie is described as a premium GPS watch – you can expect no less than Garmin.

Is it tough enough to handle an EMT’s job?

Well, the case of the Tactix Charlie is reinforced polymer with a titanium back plate. Plus, the bezel is DLC coated titanium while the watch is protected by sapphire crystal. As you can see, the Tactix Charlie is not playing around as far as durability goes.

After all, it’s a watch that’s designed for tactical purposes.

The main selling point of the watch is the navigation features. The watch comes with GPS/GLONASS along with pre-loaded topo maps. Many Garmin GPS staple features are here such as the ability to set project waypoints. You can also easily save your location in a hurry. The navigation features should come in handy if you are responding to a rural or unfamiliar location.

And one thing, it’s also an excellent activity tracker and fitness tool.

The Garmin Tactix Charlie is by no means a cheap watch but it offers a mind-blowing number of features that many EMTs should appreciate.

3. Casio G-Shock Rescue Concept

Best Watch for EMT

If you want the best watch for EMT with a thematic twist, the Casio G-Shock Rescue Concept is worth looking into. Don’t get me wrong, it’s more than just a watch with eye-popping red color.

Thematic Twist to a Tough Watch

One look at the Casio G-Shock Rescue Concept and your eyes will be drawn to the beautiful red color. When mine arrived, I was so pleased that it looks even better in person. This is a colorful alternative for EMTs who are tired of the same old black watches.

Since this is a G-Shock model, there’s no surprise (or rather a shock) here when it comes to inherent toughness. Casio’s construction is always on-point. The watch feels appropriately weighty and it just provides a solid feel overall. You just know that it’s a watch that won’t fail you in the field.

The G-Shock Rescue Concept comes with a decent list of features such as moon/tide graphs, auto EL backlight, low temp LCD, flash alert, world time, and daily alarm. It’s no Tactix Charlie or the Suunto Traverse Alpha but it’s hard to go wrong with the price.

In conclusion, the Casio G-Shock Rescue Concept is an excellent rugged watch with a color scheme that fits the EMT theme.

4. Citizen BM8180-03E Eco-Drive

Best Watch for EMT

Citizen’s Eco-Drive collection has always impressed me. They’re some of the most robust and well-respected watches in the industry. The Citizen BM8180-03E Eco-Drive is no exception.

Quality EMT Watch for a Great Price

The Citizen BM8180-03E Eco-Drive is one of the best-selling watches on Amazon, and it’s not surprising at all.

The BM8180-03E is a military-inspired watch and a stylish one at that. While it’s indeed a rugged military watch, it features a nice and clean design. The army green color scheme of the strap contrasts rather well with the stainless steel case and black dial.

Speaking of the dial, I love the BM8180-03E’s black dial. It’s just so clean and immediately readable. The red second hand adds an interesting contrast against the black dial face. Plus, you can easily use the seconds from timing a patient’s pulse and the like. When things get dark, the hands and numerals are lumed and it’s is pretty good.

Being an Eco-Drive model, the BM8180-03E is solar powered and it’s one of the better solar-powered watches available. It can be charged both in sunlight and artificial light sources like lamps. In case you run out of solar power, the watch also comes with a reserve battery which is a nice bonus.

All in all, this is a great-looking watch with sufficient ruggedness and functionality to offer for a great price.

5. Speidel Original Scrub Watch

Best Watch for EMT

The Speidel Original Scrub Watch is a watch specifically designed for doctors, nurses, surgeons, and of course EMT workers. This watch is simple, durable, and easy to read – sometimes, that’s all you ever need from a watch.

A Medical Professional’s Watch

I’ll be frank: the Speidel Original Scrub Watch is simply a basic analog watch. Don’t expect it to sync with your smartphone or count your steps. The idea here is to keep the basic timekeeping needs of medical professionals.

With that said, the dial features large Arabic numbers and a bright red second hand, emphasizing “at a glance” readability. True enough, the Speidel Scrub Watch boasts excellent readability regardless of the lighting conditions. The bright red second hand comes in handy when counting a patients pulse or breathing.

The watch is available in many different colored wristbands which you can match with your scrub uniforms, hence the name. The silicone band takes a bit of getting used to. However, it does provide a good bit of comfort and doesn’t make my wrist itch which is a plus. The silicone band is very easy to clean as well.

Overall, the Speidel Scrub Watch gets the job done and does it well. It’s a basic watch every step of the way and it doesn’t pretend otherwise. Luckily, the watch is available for a good price.

6. Timex Expedition Scout 40

Best Watch for EMT

Timex is a brand known for its budget-friendly and durable watches. The Expedition collection is more of a field watch and it’s perfect for an EMT’s everyday wear. The Timex Expedition Scout 40 is one the best entries in that particular collection.

Affordable and Durable Choice for EMTs

Like the Citizen Eco-Drive model earlier, the Timex Expedition Scout 40 is easy to read with clear white Arabic numbers on a black dial. The numerals and hands just pop out and you can easily tell the time at first glance. The numerals are bold and large which is always a plus for readability.

The Expedition Scout 40 also features the Indiglo illumination technology which I am a big fan of. When it comes to timekeeping in the dark, you won’t have a problem with this watch. The Japanese Quartz movement is always reliable and offers enough practicality for the timekeeping needs of emergency responders.

The Timex Expedition Scout 40 is a watch that EMT workers can buy with confidence. Plus, it’s hard to go wrong with the sub-$50 price tag.

Best Watches for Construction Workers

1. Casio G-Shock Rangeman GW-9400

For this list of the best watches for construction workers, I could probably fill the list with Casio watches and it’s still going to be a pretty good roundup. When it comes to tough watches, it’s no wonder that Casio is a household name. The Casio G-Shock Rangeman GW-9400 is what I consider a quintessential Casio tough watch.

The Quintessential Tough Watch

The G-Shock Rangeman GW-9400 is a battle-tested timepiece and is widely considered to be one of the best G-Shock watches available.

However, the G-Shock Rangeman GW-9400 is more than just a tough watch, it’s a full-featured outdoor unit as well. One of its best features is the Triple Sensor which means that it comes with a compass, altimeter, thermometer and barometer. It’s not exactly something that you can use on the construction site but it’s certainly a nice bonus.

But the toughness of the Rangeman GW-9400 will surely come in handy on the site. As you might expect, this watch is highly resistant to scratches, bumps, shocks, and vibrations. It’s also low temperature resistant, so you can wear it while working in the cold. It’s also a Tough Solar model which means that you don’t have to worry about running out of juice.

Overall, the Casio G-Shock Rangeman GW-9400 is a must-have for construction workers, thanks to its legendary toughness and excellent value proposition.

2. Garmin Fenix 5X Sapphire

If you’re looking for a timepiece that offers more than your traditional tough watch, the Garmin Fenix 5X Sapphire is a top-notch choice.

Perfect for Challenging Environments

The Fenix 5X is also our top choice for the best ‘smartwatches’ for construction workers, so that’s saying something. The Garmin Fenix 5X Sapphire is primarily an outdoor watch but it’s going to feel at home at a construction site.

The rugged design of the Fenix 5X allows for some serious durability. It features PVD-coated stainless steel bezel, buttons and rear case – a highly reinforced timepiece that feels tough and solid to the touch. The Transflective technology reflects and transmit light at the same time, so you can read the watch even when you’re working on the site. Water resistance is also great and is rated at 100 meters.

As mentioned, the Fenix 5X Sapphire is a high-end outdoor watch that’s packed with features. The advanced GPS and GLONASS satellite reception makes navigation in the wild a breeze. The full color Topo U.S. mapping is also a great navigation feature. On top of being an amazing outdoor watch, it’s a feature-packed activity tracker as well.

Overall, the Fenix 5X is more than just a tough watch. It’s on the expensive side but it’s worth the investment.

3. Timex Expedition Rugged Metal

When it comes to rugged, tough watches that provide amazing value proposition, Timex needs no introduction. For construction workers, the Timex Expedition Rugged Metal is a reliable timekeeping companion.

Tough and Practical

Timex is a brand that has been around forever, so I tend to think that they know how to make watches. The Timex Expedition is one of the best collections the brand has to offer.

The biggest pro of this watch is its build quality and materials. That tends to be the case with the Expedition collection. This isn’t your Uncle Dave’s old Timex anymore that comes with a cheap metal case and bracelet. The Expedition Rugged Metal is a workhorse of a watch, thanks to its metal construction – it’s a watch that you can rely on while working on a construction site.

As with most Timex watches, the Expedition keeps good time. The Indiglo feature works as intended but the hands are luminous enough that you won’t need the aforementioned feature for legibility. In terms of comfort, this watch wears just right. The leather watch doesn’t just look good, it’s surprisingly comfortable as well.

Finally, the best reason to get this watch is for its price. For this amount of quality and durability, $50 is a steal.

4. Citizen Eco-Drive AT4010-50E Titanium Perpetual

Citizen’s Eco-Drive series is a beloved collection from this legendary Japanese watchmaker. In terms of durability, I went with the Citizen Eco-Drive AT4010-50E Titanium Perpetual.

Combination of Style and Durability

Who says that tough watches need to look like bulky tool watches? The Citizen Eco-Drive AT4010-50E Titanium Perpetual is modern and sleek but is still a reliable timepiece for construction workers.

As a Titanium watch, the case and bracelet deliver in terms of durability. It’s pretty much a daily-wear watch that you can wear from casual walks to construction work. However, with the elegant design and silver tone, I can see myself wearing it during formal events as well. The watch also offers a water resistance of 200 m (660 ft) which is pretty good.

The dial is also a standout and has good texture. However, legibility can be an issue. The three chronograph dials are laid out beautifully but it can be a bit too busy for some people. The atomic timekeeping is a great feature to have, especially if you care about accuracy.

Overall, the Citizen Eco-Drive AT4010-50E Titanium Perpetual is a stylish but durable solar-powered watch. It’s a bit on the expensive side but it should serve you well while on the site.

5. Luminox 3059 EVO Navy SEAL Colormark

The Luminox 3059 EVO Navy SEAL Colormark is one of our top picks for the best military watch. With that in mind, it’s hard not to recommend this watch for a list of the best watches for construction workers.

Rugged Build and Superior Construction

The Luminox 3059 EVO comes with the right amount of heft and bulk. Plus, it comes in safety orange so it’s perfect for construction workers. As far as looks go, this watch is handsome one, thanks to its great shape and the pop of orange color. Plus, it makes the watch easier to read.

But is this a tough watch?

Absolutely! The watch uses the innovative carbon compound material Carbonox. The material is six times lighter than steel and three times lighter than titanium. It’s also very resistant to chemicals and features a very low thermal extension. So when you’re working on the site, it doesn’t get very hot or cold. Luminox did a good job of taking ruggedness and durability to a whole new level.

Finally, it’s a watch that’s recommended by U.S. SEALs and pilots, so you can trust that it’s a reliable piece.

6. Casio PRO-TREK PRG-600

The Casio PRO-TREK PRG-600 is tagged as an “outdoor world timer” and its tough design and bevy of features are the reasons why it’s one of the best watches for construction workers.

The Watch You Take Outside

For starters, the Casio PRO-TREK PRG-600 is one of the newer versions of the Pro Trek series. As you can see, one of the stronger aspects of this watch is its look. It’s quite an outlier as far as Casio designs go. The round face is fairly easy to read, even without the backlight. I think the oversized numbers is a great design decision.

The PRO-TREK PRG-600 is reinforced for temperatures down to -10C and has a water resistance rating of 100 meters. For durability, Casio’s signature rugged design shines here and it’s a good thing that you don’t have to worry about charging because it’s a solar-powered watch.

Ultimately, the PRO-TREK PRG-600 should come in handy for construction workers. However, it does have a steep learning curve.

Reliable Timepieces for Hardworking Men
