Best Watches For Physical Therapists

Best-watch-for-physical-therapists

To all my happy, awesome, rehabilitating experts out there! I have a review for you today! I’m talking about Physical Therapists. I am going to review top watches for the profession to help make your job EASIER!

Now, I do not explicitly know all of the reasons why a physical therapist uses a wristwatch, however, I do know they are important. Therefore, finding a great, easy to read watch is a high priority. Before jumping into things. Let’s talk about THE BEST watch for Physical Therapists and other medical professionals. When it comes to the best of the best it can be relative based on certain preferences. But when it comes to readability, interesting features, value, and design, the Eterna Mens “Pulseometer” watch is definitely the best choice for all of the wonderful physical therapists out there.

Whimsical Watches Physical Therapy

Not only is this watch extremely hilarious. It also functions quite well.

Come on, can you really be considered a true physical therapist if you don’t own a watch like this. Talk about being dedicated to your job. This watch is sure to keep even the most gloomy of therapists happy. And the best part is, you can be reminded of work all day!

The watch has a pretty plain design, that is if your not counting the unique features within the dial.  The case is a great size, 35mm, with a basic white dial. Basic before noticing the very noticeable clipboard and awesome quote that reads, “If It’s Physical, It’s Therapy!”

A mid-sized subdial is located on the right of the dial, displaying the time. The timepiece is run by a Japanese quartz, that is known to run quite well. The slow quiet ticks are great for physical therapists when performing day to day routines.

A Special Gift

What physical therapist would not love this watch as a gift? This is a watch that displays their profession to them every second of the day.  It may not be the most stylish watch on the market, but it is a watch that relates to a very important career.

Owners are happy with this watch and have no problems with functionality. Honestly though, the best part about the watch is the unique design!

Speidel Scrub Watch

The Speidel Scrub watch is a simple designed watch, that is a great choice for physical therapists.

First off, this watch is VERY READABLE. A large 38mm case makes it so the bright white dial with the red ticking second hand is easy to read and pops right out of the face. What is also great is the durability of the Spedial Scrub Watch. It can withstand water depths up to 30M and has an easy to clean, 100% silicone band. So whether you are assisting a patient in the water or anywhere else, this watch is sure to stay strong.

The functionality is great on the Scrub watch as well. An analog quartz keeps the watch ticking strong, with medical professionals in mind. Taking a pulse cannot be easier. Every strong tick of the watch hits dead on the second markers, so pulse readings are a breeze.

Wear With Anything

It just gets better and better. The Spedial Scrub Watch comes in MANY colors. So you can be sure to watch every outfit or fit perfectly with your favorite scrubs.  Some of the most popular colors are black, white, pink, blue and teal.

Spedial backs all of their scrub watches with a two-year warranty. So no worrying about the watch breaking on you; a new one will be on the way!

Think Medical Unisex Watch

The Think Medical watch is another great choice for physical therapists who want to take advantage of a watch. I mean, the name is “Think Medical.” I don’t think it can be any clearer than that! Not only is this watch EXTREMELY durable but very effective at doing its job. Oh, and VERY affordable.

The 31mm Silver case extends out on the right side, holding the red, screw in crown. As for the band, it is made out of a braided silicone material, that comes in multiple colors.

Interesting features on the watch include designated pulse quadrants on the dial, a very long second hand, with an arrow added at the end. And glowing hands that can be read in any setting.

Affordability

For all of the unique features packed into this watch, it is marked at a VERY cheap price point. Think Medical made watches for medical professionals, more affordable and colorful for all of the different personalities out there. I definitely recommend this watch to those who want a durable watch that can be easily read and worn with anything!

Prestige Medical Nurse Cyber Gel Watch

Slee, modern and lightweight. The Prestige Medical watch is definitely a top choice for physical therapists.

Choose between a black and white, purple or pink design that is sure to keep you happy. This watch has a beautiful LCD display, that just looks great. The watch is water resistant and has a gel band that defines what durability is.

The Prestige medical watch is for the physical therapist who wants a functional watch, that is also comfortable and is very contemporary. Owners of the Prestige Medical watch rave about the beauty of the piece. The water resistance is another feat that owners can’t get enough of. Some people even claimed to have washed it in the washing machine, and alas, it is still functioning.

Modern Design Meets Comfort

How easily this watch slides on the wrist and how comfortable it feels is one of the main highlights of this watch. The gel band gives a light and cool feel when on. It is also very lightweight, so you can almost forget that you’re wearing a watch.

The other prominent feature of the Prestige Medical watch is simply in the design. The watch has a futuristic look while maintaining the classic watch dial and case look. Be sure to let patients know, this watch is not from the future and it is NOT for sale!

Casio Womens MQ24-7B3LL

A classic watch is always a good addition to any review!

If you looked at a definition of “A classic looking watch” the Casio Women’s watch would be the cover photo. The name even has “classic” in it. There is nothing extravagant at all about this timepiece, it is a very simple design.

But sometimes simple is best, especially for physical therapy. Nothing on the watch distracts the wearer or the patient. The watch comes in a 34mm, black plastic case, and a black resin band. A bright white dial with a silver-tone sunray inner dial makes this piece easy to read.

A True Classic Design

What makes a watch classic? Well, I would say a watch that came before all modern watches and exemplifies the look of the original WATCH. Where the Casio may not be one of the first watches ever, it does mimic the design of a simple, older watch. It is not a bad thing at all for physical therapy. Here you have a plain design that is durable, easy to read and functions with a well built Japanese Quartz movement.

Eterna Pulsometer

The Eterna Pulseometer may not be as affordable as any of the other watches reviewed today. But come on, it has some amazing functionalities and an awesome movement.

At the price point, it may not be the first choice for physical therapists. Which is why it last on the list, despite labeling the Eterna as the best. What makes it so great is the high-grade materials, durability, and functionalities within this unique timepiece.

Where can I start with this watch? Well, let’s begin with the beautiful and high-class design.  The watch features an extremely comfortable and luxurious alligator band. The band goes great with the stainless steel case and white dial with two chronograph subdials. It may sound like I am contradicting myself since the last watch I highlighted the easy readability and simple design that keeps the watch looking plain and not distracting. But sometimes watch owners want a beautiful and powerful watch, even if it may inhibit a certain aspect (like readability).

Other highly praised features of the Eterna Pulsometer include the luminous hands (for easy use in the dark), 50M water resistance and the self-winding, accurate, mechanical movement.

All of these features come together to make an awesome timepiece that is WELL worth the price tag.

A True Beauty

All of the watches, other than the Eterna, are sub-par in the realm of nice watches. This is not to say they are not great for physical therapists, because they are, but they do not function nearly as well as the Eterna Pulsometor.

Everything from the shiny case, to the sapphire crystal and even the font within the dial, make this watch look pristine and beautiful. A top pick for physical therapists who don’t mind spending a bit more for a watch.

Final Verdict

By now we know how important a little watch can be for physical therapists, or for any medical professional for that matter. So choosing watches that function properly, are durable and have easy readability are very crucial features for a watch to have. All of these watches today are a blend of these top features, that keep in mind price and quality of each timepiece.

Hopefully, you all can find one of these watches to be a perfect fit. If so, I am glad that I could help you out today in finding a watch to help you succeed at your job. Maybe I’ll swing by after to your office to get my fingers checked out. For some reason they are always cramping…..

Apple Watch vs Fossil Smartwatch: Which Brand is Smarter?

Apple Watch vs. Fossil Smartwatch

So between Apple Watch vs Fossil Smartwatch, which brand offers the smarter wearable tech?

If you’re going to ask me, Apple edges out Fossil for the better implementation of the smart features. Plus, app integration and selection were simply better with the watch OS 5, Apple’s smartwatch operating system.

However, it could easily go the other way.

For this brand head-to-head, we highlighted the best watches from both brands to help you decide where to spend your money.

Short Introduction to the Apple Watch

Apple Watch is a product by, of course, Apple and is one of the first major products that was launched in the Tim Cook era. Although Apple has kept mum about the sales of their wearable tech, according to Asymco analyst Horace Dediu, the company has sold over 46 million Apple Watches thus far – making the watch the most successful wearable device in history.

Incidentally, the success of the Apple Watch has also made Apple the most successful watch manufacturer in the world, even topping Rolex as of September 2017.

Apple Watch Top Contenders

We have taken a look at some of the best smartwatches that Apple has to offer and have taken the liberty to handpick the company’s best ones that suit a number of specific needs and all should be worth your money.

Overall Best: Apple Watch Series 4 with GPS

The Apple Watch Series 4 with GPS + Cellular is a feature-packed smartwatch and it also happens to be the option if you’re buying your first Apple-branded smartwatch. As of this writing, the 2018-2019 Apple Watch lineup consists of three major versions: Series 1, Series 3 with GPS, and Series 4 with GPS+Cellular.

So why get the GPS version only instead of the GPS+Cellular model?

Well, the very simplest answer that I can give is the price. The Series 3 with GPS is certainly the most affordable entry point to the Apple Watch ecosystem without missing out on the majority of the key features.

Design has always been a major strength of Apple products and the Apple Watch Series 4 is no exception. The design of the watch is very functional. The colorful square display is very bright and I had no trouble making out the text whether it’s indoor or outdoor.

The watch also features the watchOS 5 which is the best version of it yet. I especially love the fact that navigating the interface is now very similar to how the iPhone works. Siri also works better which means that you now have a true hands-free / eyes-free experience.

The watch also features longer battery life and faster performance which are always a good thing. It has plenty of great features to get by your day-to-day life. Overall, it’s an excellent smartwatch that offers great value.

For the Sports-Oriented: Apple Watch Nike+

Apple is the behemoth of the tech industry. Nike is one of the biggest sports brands in the world. Combine both of them and you have a product that might just be larger than the sum of its parts.

If you’re planning to use a smartwatch to help you with your fitness goals, the Apple Watch Nike+ might just be for you.

One of the first things I love about the watch is the accuracy of the GPS. The Nike+ records the distance, pace, and routes with great accuracy. Even when using treadmills, the distance calculation is quite accurate. The heart rate monitor also offers comparable accuracy to chest strap heart rate monitors.

Apple does love its proprietary apps, so for the Nike+, you have the Nike+ Run Club app. The app is very straightforward to use and offers plenty of features for recording your activities. However, you don’t have to settle with the Nike+ Run Club app since the watch also supports other well-known fitness apps like RunKeeper, MapMyRun, and MyFitnessPal.

In terms of comfort, I’m happy to report that the watch is comfortable on the wrist. I’ve experienced no irritation while wearing the watch during a workout. The band is also outfitted with numerous holes for ventilation.

Overall, the Nike+ is a great, user-friendly smartwatch that works well as an accurate fitness tracker.

For the Budget-Conscious: Apple Watch Series 1

If you are looking for a less expensive alternative to the Series 3, the Apple Watch Series 1 is definitely a solid option.

The Series 1 name is rather confusing since this model is actually newer than the original Apple Watch which is referred to as “Series 0” which was released in 2015. The Series 1 debuted in 2016 along with the now-discontinued Series 2.

The 38mm is about 10% lower in price than the 42mm. The Series 1 will save you less than a hundred dollars but still afford you some pretty good smartwatch features. Despite lacking major features like a GPS, the Series 1 can still track your runs and be used for your workouts without needing your phone.

The Apple Watch Series 1 is also compatible with the watchOS 4 which features improved heart rate tracking features, smarter Siri, and many other enhancements.

For a cheaper price, expect to miss out on some major features and improvements such as GPS, waterproofing, brighter display, faster performance, better battery life, and more.

As long as you’re not hardcore runner or swimmer, the Series 1 has what you need at a far more affordable price.

Short Introduction to the Fossil Smartwatch

Fossil is a very popular American fashion designer and manufacturing company that is known for their designer watches, wallets, handbags, fragrances, and more.

Not planning to be outdone by Apple, Google has released its own smartwatch operating system which is dubbed Android Wear. When it comes to wearable Google-based watches, Fossil is definitely one of the frontliners.

On top of offering full-blown smartwatches, Fossil somehow has managed to stick with their roots by making hybrid smartwatches.

Fossil Smartwatch Top Contenders

Same with Apple’s lineup, we have taken a look at some of the best models that Fossil has to offer in the smartwatch race.

Best Overall: Fossil Q Explorist Gen 3

The Fossil Q Explorist Gen 3 should be an easy recommendation if you want a smartwatch with a fashionable flair.

In my opinion, the Q Explorist lineup is among the best designed and best-looking smartwatches at the moment. It’s also available in many different materials, color options, finishes and band styles, so you can find a timepiece that matches your own personal style. Plus, the straps are swappable which gives you more customization options.

The watch can track steps, distance, and calories burned. However, it’s only making an estimate so it’s not the most accurate tracker out there since it lacks GPS and a heart rate monitor.

Like most smartwatches, the Gen 3 Explorist can display notifications and touchscreen functions for calls, texts, app updates, and emails. It’s also powered by Wear OS, so it’s compatible whether you have an Android or iOS smartphone.

Overall, the Fossil Q Explorist Gen 3 looks and feels just like a regular watch but with some smart thrown in the mix.

If You Want a Regular-Looking Smartwatch: Fossil Q Grant Hybrid Smartwatch

The Fossil Q Grant Hybrid Smartwatch is described, “looks like a watch, acts like a smartwatch” which is fairly accurate.

It’s basically an analog watch with smart features.

The Fossil Q Grant is simply leagues ahead of its competitors when it comes to design and build. It has a gorgeous watch face that’s a real head-turner. I also particularly enjoy the 44m metal frame which feels just about right on my wrist.

The smart features come in a simplistic form of LED lights and vibration motor. The watch can be synced with your Android smartphone or iPhone and you can get notifications via the Q Grant. The LED lights can be used to notify you of things like when certain hashtags are used or when a certain app sends a notification.

The Q Grant is equipped with a 3-axis accelerometer which can track things like steps taken, calories burned, and distance covered. Just don’t expect fancy tracking features like elevation, heart rate monitoring, and sleep tracking.

The Fossil Q Grant Hybrid Smartwatch is easily the best-looking hybrid smartwatch that you can get in the market. It also doesn’t hurt that it’s offered at a great price point.

For the Fitness Enthusiast: Fossil Q Control Gen 3

The Fossil Q Control Gen 3 Smartwatch is the go-to option for hardcore runners and fitness enthusiasts.

While many people would consider the Q Control to be dull and bland, I think the design is good and can work as a watch that fits in any situation. I really enjoy the clean and almost futuristic look of the watch which can be worn whether you are playing sports or attending a suit event.

As mentioned, the Q Control excels in in-depth activity and performance tracking – thanks to its heart rate sensor. It comes pre-loaded with the Google Fit app so you can track your heart rate, steps, and a variety of workouts. The 5ATM water resistance rating means that you can take this watch for a swim.

Overall, the Q Control looks great and works well as a sports watch. However, it does come with a hefty price tag.

The Verdict

So Apple Watch vs Fossil Smartwatch, which do I prefer?

As I’ve mentioned, I have more affinity towards the Apple smartwatches since I’m already knee-deep into Apple’s ecosystem. Plus, most of the “smart” features just work better with Apple’s watches. Tracking and app integration were simply better experiences with my Apple watch.

However, Fossil’s smartwatches have fared well during our comparison.

Fossil watches generally work better with the Android OS, so if you’re already using an Android device, I highly recommend giving Fossil’s offering a look. Plus, they’re great watches if you want a wearable tech that doesn’t look like a “smartwatch.”

Best Watches For Nursing Students

best watches for nursing students

Whether or not you believe wrist watches are a vital (get it) part of a nurses job; there is no doubt that they come in handy. In medical school, watches are just as important. Accurate timekeeping for heart rates, breathing and checking every five minutes to see when its time to go home (kidding).

Because telling accurate time as a nursing student is so important, a durable, comfortable and reliable timepiece is needed to get the job done. Sorry fashionistas but while you are in school, the best looking Rolex watches are not on the top of the list. Long story short, the BEST watch for you, if you are indeed a nurse or a nursing student, is the Nurse Mate Special – Uni Pink Watch. This watch can be comfortably worn and has special features that nurses will appreciate!

Nurse Mate Special – Uni Pink Watch

Instead of saving the best for last, why not begin with it?

The Uni Pink Watch: I chose this watch as the best for a few reasons. For one, it is very comfortable and durable. The rubber bracelet is easily adjustable for any sized wrist and feels great while being worn. What also makes this watch a great choice for any nurse, or nursing student is the large numerical markers within the dial. Watch seekers can choose between the black and pink model featured above, or a white and black model. The model with bright pink numbers and large white military markers is easily the better choice because it is so much easier to read.

The plain, but pretty color scheme is also a highlight of this watch. It is definitely a piece that can be worn outside of school or the office because it can go with any outfit (stick to casual).

Comfortable and Easy to Read

I recommend this watch to those who are in need of an easy to read, comfortable watch for a GREAT price. Nurses rave about how this watch is EXTREMELY easy to read and very comfortable and stylish.

Casio Quartz Resin Casual Watch

Another great choice for nursing students, the Casio “Casual Watch” has a plain design that is easy to read. Due to the simplistic design within the 35mm dial, you can easily read the slow and steady ticks of the quartz movement.

Highlights of this watch include water resistance up to 30m, a durable resin bracelet, and a resin glass dial window. This is also a unisex watch, and goes great with any choice of outfit; or scrubs of course!

Classic Simplicity

This is a watch for those who appreciate simplicity. The timepiece is very neutral, meaning it can go with anything you decide to wear. It is simply a basic, functional and comfortable watch that gets the job done. Many present owners are extremely happy with this watch and find it as a handy piece in their day to day duties.

Timex Unisex “Weekender”

The Weekender is a great addition to this list. This watch has a slightly different design than the last two that I reviewed. You get a brown “slip through” (easy to wear) strap on this and a stainless steel case. It looks more like a traditional dress watch and therefore can be worn with more of a dressy look.

What makes it a great choice for a medical student is the easy to read white dial with military time. A great feature that the Timex has is a light up dial, so the watch can be used in darker areas.

Versatile

This watch is a great buy for those who want an easy to read dial but with varying styles. Because it comes with a slip through, leather strap, you can purchase many colors and designs that can easily be changed out. So in a way, it can seem like you have more than one watch.

Owners are happy with the watches functionality and how it has the ability to light up the dial. A perfect fit for any person in the medical profession!

Motorolla Moto 360 2ND Generation Smartwatch

The Moto 360 is definitely a noteworthy mention on a list of best watches for nurses. What makes this watch so unique compared to other smartwatches on the market is the minute and second hands that the LCD dial displays. This makes it a perfect watch for those who need to keep track of each second.

The watch comes in a 42mm case for both males and females. If you have an Android 4.3+ or an iPhone with iOS 8.2+ than this watch is compatible with your phone.

Smartwatch

I chose this smartwatch because you get all of the benefits of a smartwatch, with an LCD screen that displays the important second hand and minute hand. This watch has been discontinued so to purchase you have to buy from a dealer online like Amazon. But because this is a smartwatch, you are going to pay MORE money than all of the other watches listed in this review. So keep that in mind!

Huawei Watch Stainless Steel

Yes, another smartwatch. But I bet you would never have guessed that the Huawei was even a smartwatch!

One of the best features of the Huawei watch is how it mimics a “normal,” or typical watch. At first glance, you would never think you are looking at a smartwatch. This is the case because the watch is fitted with a beautiful stainless steel bracelet and a bold stainless steel case.  The AMOLED display features multiple watch faces that you can choose from with ticking second hands.

This is the definition of a cool watch. You are sure to be the coolest nurse in the whole hospital.

Smart AND Stylish

For those who don’t mind wearing a stylish watch to school (or work) the Huawei is a perfect fit. Not only does it have features that are great for upcoming nurses; but man it looks great at the same time! I really love how Huawei was able to create a watch that LOOKS like an everyday timepiece but is actually a smartwatch. If smartwatches are your kind of watch, you can not go wrong with this piece.

Spedial Scrub Watch

Heres a watch that was literally made for those in the medical profession.

The Spedial is a PERFECT watch for anyone in the medical profession.  Spedial made this watch with pulse readings in mind, which is why the watch features a great sized 38mm case, a large white dial, and a RED ticking second hand.

Comfort is also a great plus with this watch. The silicone band is sure to feel great and fit for any wrist size. The best part about the band is there are MANY bands available to match your favorite pair of scrubs.  You can get a band in either pink, black, white, teal, blue, white leather or stainless steel silver.

Usability and Affordability

This is downright a great watch for any nurse or medical professional. The easy to read dial, with military time and large tick marks, makes taking pulses a breeze. What really makes this watch great is the red ticking second hand. Not only is this a metaphor for blood (at least I think), but it is so much easier to keep up with the ticking hand, rather than a normal black hand that blends in with the tick marks.

Since this watch is so comfortable, durable and matches with almost any scrubs that you pull out of the closet, it is one of the BEST choices on this list. And it is also very AFFORDABLE. Get ready to be the most stylish person in nursing school!

Whimsical Nurse Watch

Wow, what a great name for this watch – Whimsical ! It can not get any better than this watch. I mean, how can you not like a watch that basically presents what you do within the dial of a watch? This watch is definitely not for anyone, but I am sure many can appreciate it.

What makes this watch a great choice for nursing students, or new nurses entering the profession, is the awesome design. However, the make of the watch is also a good choice for the medical world. It does come in a 42mm case with a smaller subdial within, that displays the time. It is not as easy to read as other watches on this review, but it can still be read. The quartz is known to be quite reliable as well, so battery changes shouldn’t come all that often.

Out of the Ordinary

No doubt, this watch is not for everyone. This makes a great gift for any nursing student or new nurse (with a sense of humor) and who appreciates cute gifts. Many nurses claim the watch is a great conversation starter and some even wear the watch EVERYWHERE that they go. Those who appreciate items and have a true passion for their profession will LOVE this unique timepiece.

Nursing Watches

You use watches for many, many reasons. Taking a pulse may be one of the first purposes that you think of, but other vital readings, administering medication and lab charting are some other important reasons why as a nurse you may want a reliable timepiece.

I made a list of varying styles and types of watches to try and really hit everyone’s different likes and personalities. The most important features tend to be readability, a ticking hand, and durability.  But design, uniqueness, and innovation are other features that some find to be the deciding factor. At the end of the day, your purchase should be based on price range, functionality, and durability. Happy shopping and thank you to all nurses who are making a difference in the world, one tick at a time!

Best Citizen Eco-Drive Watches

best citizen eco-drive watch

Citizen is one of those brands that have been around for a LOOONG time but does not get that much press. Citizen dates back as far as 1924, when they created a pocket watch. Despite a lack of publicity, Citizen creates some great, affordable watches, that focus on design and technology.

Today, we will be reviewing the Eco-Drive models by Citizen. These watches operate with light; natural or artificial. So the batteries never need to be replaced. The Eco-Drive watches are long-lasting, durable timepieces and are a great buy for any watch lover. The Citizen Eco-Drive Silvertone And Black World Time A-T  is hands down the most appealing, and best-reviewed Eco-drive watch by Citizen. If you are on the market for an interesting watch, look no further than the Eco-Drive models. Another TOP choice, is the Eco-Drive Satellite. This watch has so many special additions that set it apart from every other watch that I will be reviewing today.

Citizen Men’s Eco-Drive Chronograph Watch

The beautiful and well-designed chronograph by Citizen is one of the best reviewed Eco-Drive watches on the market. You are first greeted with a large, stainless steel, 48mm case. I am not a huge fan of large cases on watches, but with all of the complexities inside of the dial on this one, it is a necessity.

I love the light silver dial, it perfectly compliments the dark black, 3 inner calenders, tick marks, and beautifully polished silver bezel and bracelet.

Highlights of this watch are definitely in the design. Of course, like all Eco-drive watches, the movement is controlled by light. Where this watch really shines (no pun intended) is the beautiful dial. The three black subdials feature 24 hour time, 1/10th seconds and even a time zone feature. The power reserve on this bad boy is 270 days and it even has a built-in alarm.

Recommendation

If large faced watches and complex designs are your forte; than this watch is for you! If large cases are not typically your thing, I would still try out this watch. For a large watch, it looks great.

In no way is this normal watch. You can wear it with just about anything and it is sure to stimulate some great conversations! I recommend the Eco-Drive Chronograph to those who want a little more than your “average watch.”

Citizen Eco-Drive Stainless Steel Axiom

Here we have a unique, futuristic looking watch. This timepiece holds the same light-driven quartz movement, but just looks so much cooler!

The Axiom has a 40mm stainless steel case; a perfect size in my opinion.  And a great looking, dark black dial. The black dial has only a chrome, underlined Citizen logo, think silver hands, a single 12 o clock hour marker and a small date window on the right. The simplicity of this watch is what makes it so desirable.

Owners of this stylish timepiece claim that it is durable (up to 99ft water resistance) functional and beautiful. You can be sure to pull this watch out no matter what outfit you plan on wearing.

Recommendation

I recommend this watch to those who have a taste for contemporary design. It is a timepiece that can be worn with just about anything, due to the simple design. Make this your everyday watch and I guarantee you it will garner some awesome compliments.

I can see this watch on the wrist of our futurists, scientists, and people with a love for fashion and innovation.

Citizen Eco-Drive Dress Watch

Simple, durable and extremely affordable are adjectives that describe the Citizen Eco-Drive Dress timepiece.

The case has a diameter of 41mm. I typically love the 40mm cases, but a 1mm larger size does not change much, and actually looks better on those with larger wrists. The textured black dial is protected by an anti-reflective, sapphire crystal. What makes the value of this watch so great, is the high-quality materials used within this timepiece.

Recommendation

This is a watch for those who like classic watches. Nothing about the design is complex, it is simply a nice watch. You can perfectly pair this timepiece with any business or dress attire, but it also makes a great everyday watch due to the durability and clean design.

Citizen Eco-Drive BM6552-52E

The Eco-Drive model BM6552-52E is a great mention due to all of the happy owners. It is hard to find a negative review on this watch, and for a very good reason.

This is YOUR watch if you have a smaller wrist. The case diameter is 32mm. The rectangular design prevents the watch from looking “too small,” and honestly overall it is a great size and weight for any wrist (unless you are a champion arm wrestler that is).

The watch is built with a gold-tone, stainless steel case with a seriously nice black dial.  Your eyes are drawn to the dial with each tick from the gold second hand passing the luxurious gold “diamond” looking hour placeholders.

You get the light powered  Eco-Drive Caliber E111 Japanese-quartz movement, with a power reserve up to 180 days! Once the battery begins to get low, the watch actually warns you that its time to charge. And unless you are a vampire, charging this watch shouldn’t be difficult.

Recommendation

Not everyone is into smaller, square-shaped cases. So this watch is not for everyone. But once you see this watch in person, you can appreciate its beauty. Because this watch has a unique design and great features (like a hardened mineral crystal to prevent scratches) I definitely recommend this watch. This timepiece tends to look great with dress attire, but wear it as you choose! I’m sure you’ll be happy with it though!

Citizen Eco-Drive Promaster Diver Watch

An Eco-Drive dive watch? No way!

You gotta appreciate what Citizen did here. They took a classic dive watch, implemented unique light-power technology and market it at an AMAZINGLY affordable price!

A problem many dive watch enthusiasts have, who do not have the budget to purchase a Rolex or other expensive automatic movements, hate having to change the batteries on their dive watches. The Citizen Promaster dive makes that problem a thing of the past.

Highlights of this watch include, up to 200m of water resistance (an ISO certified dive watch), a durable, 48mm stainless-steel case and a comfortable polyurethane band.

Those who are against the polyurethane, rubbery look, can easily swap out the band for a stainless steel band at any time.

Recommendation

Dive watch lovers, rejoice! The Citizen Promaster is a great choice for an intermediate dive watch. The price point is unbeatable, and the parts used on this watch are top-notch. If you are on the market for a dive watch, you should consider a Citizen Promaster!

Citizen Eco-Drive Satellite

Those who have read my reviews before, know how much I love watches. More specifically how much I love, high-quality, automatic watches. Now the Eco-Drive Satellite may not have an automatic movement, but oh my do I love this watch.

This watch is STUNNING. A 43.5mm stainless steel case fits the complex and beautiful qualities inside of the dial. The dial is a dark black, with large silver hands.

Wait until you hear all of the functionalities of this watch. A bi-directional rotating dial makes it so you can tell the time in ANY time zone. It also has a built-in, RX-GPS function. Some say it takes a minute or two to get started, but once it does it is FULLY FUNCTIONAL and a great addition to this timepiece.

Recommendation

THIS WATCH IS AMAZING. The technologies used in this watch make it worth the slightly higher price point. Not only is the watch beautiful, but it is functional, unique and of course, never needs batteries. A perfect watch for vacations and long road trips. You will definitely be happy with the Satellite!

Citizen Eco-Drive Silvertone And Black World Time A-T

Last, but certaintly not least, we have the Eco-Drive World Time A-T by Citizen.

With so much going on inside of the PERFECTLY sized, 42mm stainless-steel guilloche dial. You are sure to find a feature or two on this watch that you absolutely love. The band is made of strong titanium with a comfortable fold-over clasp. It very well may be the most comfortable Eco-Drive watch by Citizen.

Never be behind on time with this watch. You have the day of the week, radio powered time zone feature, time (with great accuracy), and 12/24 time keeping sub dial all in one watch. What makes things even better is the watch is water resistant up to 200m. It is SO CLOSE to being considered a dive watch.

Recommendation

The watch speaks for itself. At first glance, you are appalled by all of the complexities of the dial. The polished titanium case and bracelet keep the watch looking bold and professional. Expect this to be your EVERYDAY watch. It is so beautiful and durable, you don’t ever have to worry about damaging this amazing and affordable timepiece.

Eco-Drive Watches Final Verdict

You can not get a better bang for your buck than with the Eco-Drive watches. Not many watches implement such innovative technologies, with attractive designs while maintaining an affordable price point. Those who are seeking HIGH-QUALITY watches can obtain just that with the Eco-Drive models.

Owners of these watches RAVE about the accuracy, durability, and quality, making any Eco-Drive watch a great choice. It is not easy to find negative feedback anywhere on the web, people LOVE Eco-Drive timepieces! When deciding which watch to purchase, make sure you choose a trustworthy website like Amazon.

Review of The Orkina Watch Brand

orkina watch review

Orkina watches. Ever heard of them? Orkina is a fairly new watch brand that is extremely affordable and has some excellent watch designs.

So how are their watches? Well, they vary. One thing is the watches are VERY cheap. So much so that they are great beginner watches to test out. Another great feature is that some are built with automatic movements. On the downside, some of the models by Orkina are cheaply made and use low-quality materials. That is what I am here for. To save the day! I am going to review the best watches, like the Orkina Skeleton which is definitely one of the top reviewed watches by Orkina. In this Orkina watch review, I will also mention watches that you may want to avoid.

Orkina Short History (somewhat)

Now the history on Orkina is not simple to find. Multiple searches on the web came up blank. From what I was able to find, I can see that the brand is a Chinese company, that makes very affordable watches. Because these watches are so cheap, it is easy to infer that the materials used are in fact, cheap. And that claim is true. Many reviews on Amazon, Google, Youtube etc.. have similar reviews from owners venting about the low quality of the Okrina watches. Not to say there are no positive reviews.

Many other people on Amazon express how much they enjoy their watches by Okrina and recommend them to others. I do have to say, if you are not in the market for expensive watches, or you are buying a watch for a child/teenager; Okrina may be the brand for you! My word of advice is to start off with Orkina to introduce yourself into the watch game. You can test out different designs and movements to see what works best for your style.

Orkina Top Watches

Today’s review will consist of multiple, higher regarded watches by Orkina. These will be watches that I do not mind recommending. I will end the review with a few watches to stay away from (solely my opinion).

Orkina White Dial “Sports

I would be lying if I told you this is not an attractive watch. That alone is the main highlight of this watch and what makes it a top watch by Orkina.

Design

The design is great at first glance. Once the watch is on the wrist you can tell that it is not of the best quality. But, for the price, it looks great.

A gold 42mm case is complemented by a dark brown, genuine leather band. The bright white dial and gold Roman Numerals and hour markers plastered on the face. Protecting the dial is a mineral crystal. The hands on this timepiece appear as rounded arrows. Overall, the piece has a very classic, old-school watch. Because of this trait, it may not be the best choice for a younger child. In my opinion, the watch looks best in dress clothes, with a nice suit or light button down. So Orkina sport is probably more suitable for an older crowd.

Durability

Not the best watch when it comes to durability, but also not the worst. The genuine leather strap is not known to last very long. The case is somewhat strong, meaning it can take a few bumps and bruises.

The mineral crystal can obtain scratches pretty easily, yet the scratches can be wiped away with little elbow grease. If deep scratches occur, mineral crystals are cheap to replace. When wearing outside, do not get this watch wet. It is not made to get wet. It can take some minor water damage (a few minutes in light rain) but not much more than that. For the price of the watch, the durability of this piece is not bad.

Movement

A Chinese, battery powered, quartz movement runs this timepiece. A few reviews on Amazon claim that the watch keeps its time and gets the job done. That being said, that is what you should expect. A watch that stays within a few minutes each day. The accuracy is not something that should be expected when purchasing this watch.

Orkina Skeleton Watch

Probably a favorite by the Orkina brand, the Skeleton is indeed an interesting watch.

Design

The design of this watch is what pulls many people in. And, well the price of course.

A white, transparent dial clearly shows the movement inside. The numbers and hands within the dial are gold, which goes well with the gold movement. The rest of the watch is made of a silver, stainless steel material. What makes this watch a top reviewed timepiece is the interesting dial and cool shapes inside. This is definitely a watch for both a younger and older crowd. It can easily be worn with any casual outfit.

Durability

Skeletons are pretty durable, right? Well, the same goes for this watch. Unlike the Orkina “sport” watch, this watch can actually take some heat.

Customers seem to be quite happy with the strength of this timepiece. The bracelet is bulky and large and can surely take on any drops or bumps. It also has a “water resistance” of up to 30m. I still would not recommend showering or swimming with this watch, but rain and minor exposure to water should be fine!

Movement

A mechanical, self-winding movement runs this timepiece. Pretty obvious, since you can see the movement straight through the dial. There seems to be a consensus that the watch keeps a great time for about 42 hours. Which is not bad for a mechanical movement. After the 42 hours pass, simply wind up the watch to get the time going again!

Orkina Rose Gold “Tourbillion”

Another transparent, skeleton for you.

Design

The Tourbillion definitely has a unique look to it. Rose gold is a great addition and matches well with the midnight black strap. At 40mm, the case is a great size to show off the insanely cool looking movement.

With gold Roman Numerals placed around the dial and a gold crown appointed at the top of the dial, this piece sure looks like the definition of a fashion watch. This should be worn with a nice outfit and looks great with dark and light colors. When choosing an outfit with this watch, be creative. This is an interesting watch, which calls for a pairing of clothes that is unique and different.

One interesting feature on this watch, in particular, is the look of the bezel. it has a gold, monster truck tire looking insert, giving the watch an almost 3D look. This one feature adds a bit of distraction from the mechanical movement inside and brings the design together as a whole. I really do love it!

Durability

The “high-grade” synthetic leather is meant to sound like it lasts long but does not really do so. Fading and tears can appear somewhat easily, so this is a watch made for a more careful, older group of people.

As for the dial, it can last. The dial is built pretty strong and polished in a way that imperfections are not shown. Would I say that this watch meets the definition of durability? No. But in the right hands, of someone who is careful with their belongings, this watch can last for a little while.

Movement

Another mechanical self-winding movement here. Even when mechanical movements are not as great as a Rolex; I still prefer them to quartz. Just thinking that your watch is keeping time from winding it up a few times is mindbending, at least to those who don’t understand the complexity of watchmaking (me).

When it comes to the movement used in this piece, one word to describe it would be decent.  It is the same Chinese movement as in the Skeleton and functions just as well, or not as well depending on your standards for a movement. Overall, depending on who this watch is for, it should be a good buy!

Some Watches to Avoid (based on Amazon customer reviews)

Now, this is not a topic that I usually cover when reviewing watches. But after reading multiple customer complaints, I thought it would be necessary to let my readers know which watches to buy and which ones to avoid. You can thank me later…

Orkina Silver Case

Multiple reviews claim that this watch had pieces fall off. I do admit, it does have a beautiful design. If you don’t mind a hand or two falling off, then go right ahead! Otherwise, go for the Orkina Skeleton

Orkina Colorful Nylon

This one looks like it should be on a clown. Not to talk down to the watch, but for the price, you are definitely better off with any other watch by Orkina. Plus many say this watch feels like a toy.

The Final Verdict of the Brand

Despite my criticism, Orkina does make some nice looking watch. And I mean, come on, these watches are the most affordable pieces that I have ever seen! How can you not want to even TRY one out? I, myself, own multiple expensive, high-quality watches and I even purchased an Orkina.

To conclude the article I will list the pros and cons of the brand as a whole. Hopefully, with this, you can decide which watch to take home and which ones to skip. One thing that I really have to say, is for such a cheap price, it is definitely worth a try buying one of these timepieces. Who knows? You, your children, your neighbor or even your grandpa may love Orkina.

Pros

  • VERY, VERY affordable
  • Nice designs
  • Automatic movements (on some)
  • Durable bracelets (stainless steel models)
  • Unique designs

Cons

  • Cheap material
  • Synthetic leather bands
  • Chinese movements
  • Not always reliable

Rolex vs. Movado Brand Review

movado vs rolex

When you hear someone say,”luxury watches,” what are the first brands that come to mind? Sorry to be the arrogant guy who answers for you, but I would say Rolex, Omega, Breitling and Hermes to name a few.  The name Movado is not usually considered in this list of luxury timepieces, and I agree that it should not be.

There was a time, however, long long ago, when Movado was a luxury brand. I can write an MLA formatted essay for my readers expressing my anger with the “new” style of Movado watches, but instead, I will be civil and give an honest review and compare the brand to a favorite of mine, Rolex. Long story short, I choose ANY Rolex over a Movado any time, day, location, state of mind etc… Rolex is one of those brands that dominate the realm of watches and craft amazing timepieces that make my statement sound. I will compare and contrast many top watches by each brand to give an honest and nonbias review (somewhat) of which brand is better. Hope you enjoy!

Dive Watches

Sports watches are a highly regarded market in the watch game. Particularly, dive watches. Rolex is known to create some of the worlds best dive watches, like the Sea Dweller and the famous Submariner.  Movado, is not as known for their dive watches, but they do create a couple, like the Series 800.

Rolex Submariner

A true beauty when it comes to dive watches, the Rolex Submariner is easily one of the top dive watches ever created. The design is classic and stylish, offering a flexible watch that can be worn in a business suit, or even a swimsuit.

Specs

Whether you opt for a vintage Submariner or one of the newer models, you are sure to be happy. For the sake of not confusing anyone with all different specs and designs, I will stick to one of the newest Submariner models, ref. 114060.

A beautiful oyster, stainless steel, 40mm case fits lovely with the bold, stainless steel bracelet. The scratch resistant crystal is a great addition and keeps the watch looking brand new.

A unidirectional, scratch resistant, ceramic bezel compliments the black dial to perfection.

A few factors that truly set this watch apart from many dive watches are the 300m water resistance and the fantastic 3130 swiss movements within each piece. The watch also has a long-lasting, blue luminescence, which definitely comes in handy if you are a professional diver.

Overall Review

The Submariner is a classic, that was released in 1953. Since then, Rolex continues to update the innovation and technology used in the Submariner and keeps the name going strong.

Movado Series 800 “Dive”

This is the closest when it comes to a dive watch for the Movado brand. The series 800 is definetly a good looking sports watch, but falls short when it comes to materials used.

Specs

With a 40mm stainless steel case, a durable sapphire crystal and up to 200m of water resistance; the Series 800 do seem like a great choice for a watch. And don’t take me the wrong way, this is not a bad watch. The design is classic and can be worn with anything. But this watch does not compete with the Submariner for a few reasons.

For one, the steel on this piece is nowhere near as polished and durable as the Submariner. The movement is a quartz on the Series 800, which I do not care for. Especially for a sports watch, where reliability is key. Although this watch is attractive and much cheaper than the Submariner, it is nowhere near as innovative and classic as the Submariner.

If you are not in the market for an “expensive” watch, the Rolex may not be a suitable choice, and you may opt for the Movado. But despite the price difference, the Submariner reigns supreme.

Luxury Watches

Now I will review the Muesum models by Movado and compare them to the classic Datejust timepieces by Rolex. This is not really the best comparison, but the closest when it comes to luxury desgins.

Rolex Datejust

The Datejust is a classic model by Rolex, that comes in many sizes colors and materials. Featured above is reference number 16233, a handsome and vintage watch to release from Rolex.

Specs

What really makes Datejusts great is their luxury design and high-quality materials. The 18k yellow gold bezel and the yellow gold and stainless steel jubilee bracelet give the watch a fancy and “expensive” look. In my opinion (not just because I own many Datejusts), Datejust watches are the most luxurious timepieces made by Rolex.

The case is a great size, 36mm. Today, watches are being made with larger faces, and some people prefer them. I, actually disagree, a smaller case means easier wear with dress clothes, it looks good on smaller wrists (like mine). A scratch-resistant sapphire crystal is added for extra durability, as well as an expertly crafted, screw down crown. This is so water can not enter the dial. The dial on this piece is a dark black and just is a beautiful pairing.

And of course, the Datejust is equipped with a high-grade automatic, self-winding movement.  No matter how much Rolex perfects their movements each year, the older movements are still VERY accurate and are designed to perfection.

Movado Museum

This is a watch that had to be added to this review. The museum models by Movado are by far the best sellers.

I could not think of a watch by Movado to compare to the Datejust. So Museum is the closest that I could come up with. In NO way, does it compete with the Datejust.

Specs

At first glance, this is a very contemporary piece. In my opinion, it does not pull off the modern look as well as other similarly priced watches, like the Eone Bradley.

To truly review the Museum models by Movado, you can not compare them to Rolex. So within this subheading, I will give the overall pros and cons of Museum watches.

PROS
  • A sapphire crystal
  • 40mm case
  • Many choices to choose from (color wise)
  • Modern design (if you are into this type of look)
  • Moderate price

These qualities are some highlights of the Museum models. Many customer reviews that you can find on Amazon rate the museum watches well. These come from customers who do not want to spend much more on top quality Rolex’s. I do not disagree with this claim at all; but I do believe there are other CHEAPER and nicer watches out there that are more original and of better quality than Movado.

Cons
  • Swiss quartz movement ( this is a con to me, may not be to others)
  • Simplistic, boring design
  • Feels cheap when on the wrist, almost like a toy

If I can review the Museum model in one word, it would be overpriced. Although the model is “cheap” when compared to a Rolex, the quality still does not match the price. I say, spend more to get a higher quality that will last longer and keep you satisfied.

Overall

At the end of the day, when you are fishing for your wallet and ready to make an online purchase for a watch, opt for a Rolex. That is if you are choosing between a Rolex and a Movado.

If you are lucky enough to find a vintage Movado, then the choice is not as simple. The original watches by Movado were great and actually made of good quality and automatic movements. After the brand was sold, everything changed.

So unless you are truly in love with the design of Movado watches, I do not recommend them.

More affordable Rolex watches exist, like this Oyster Perpetual. You can also find deals on Amazon at times, where independent sellers are “getting rid” of their watches for insanely cheap prices!

You Decide

Now, do not let me be the ultimate decider in what watch you buy. I do undertand that some Rolex watches can be expensive, and therefore unattainable. If the design of Movado watches grabs your attention and looks great to you, GO AHEAD and buy one! There are plenty of happy customer reviews on Amazon that you can find. Many people even claim that the movements work fine and last for years! My review was strictly comparing the brand to Rolex, where, Movado simply does not compete.

Other Watches

There are definitely some other notable watches to mention by each brand. Since this is an overall review of each brand as a whole, I must add these other watches.

Rolex

Air King

The Air King is an excellent watch by Rolex that offers a simple, luxurious design with an extremely accurate movement.

Explorer

Rolex created the Explorer to offer a more affordable watch to those who want a Rolex. The design is just as simple as the air king, yet offers some great quality material.

GMT Master

GMT Master watches by Rolex look similar to Submariners but with added unique features. The watch feautred above is the, Batman model by Rolex. A true beauty.

Movado

SmartWatch

Probably the most interesting watch by Movado, the smartwatch. I saved this one for the end because it obviously cannot be compared to a Rolex. If you do opt to buy a Movado, I say get THE SMARTWATCH!

Bold Thin

Why not add an ALL GOLD watch by Movado. You can always feel like you are in the song “All Gold Everything”   Definitely an interesting choice.

SE Pilot

Other than the Smartwatch, This would be another watch that I recommend by Movado. Although I still believe it is very overpriced, it has a pretty attractive design.

Rolex Explorer VS Datejust: The Battle of the Understated Rolex Watches

Rolex Explorer vs Datejust

When it comes to high-end timepieces, it’s hard to go wrong with a Rolex.

However, the great line of Rolex watches is made up of some of the best timepieces in history, so choosing one can be rather overwhelming.

With that said, today we’ll have a head-to-head comparison of two of the most popular models that Rolex has to offer, the Rolex Explorer and Rolex Datejust. Many people are having some trouble choosing between these two excellent Rolex watches, and that’s understandable. In fact, I have to say that it’s a good problem to have.

I prefer the Datejust. While the Explorer is known for its gorgeous and classic aesthetics and it’s pretty much a timekeeping icon, the Datejust edges it out with versatility, robustness, and state-of-the-art timekeeping features.

However, it’s not as straightforward as it looks because the Explorer can definitely give the Datejust a run for its money.

So, let’s compare and contrast these two high-end watches.

Rolex Explorer Review

Originally introduced in 1953, the Rolex Explorer rose to its iconic status and is deemed a cornerstone piece for the company’s catalog. Although it doesn’t have the bells and whistles or any features that are specifically tailored to one activity or sport, the Explorer remains one the purest sports watch by Rolex.

The Rolex Explorer is designed to handle any conditions the user might face.

For this particular head-to-head, we’re going to tackle the Rolex Explorer 214270 which has received a much-needed update back in 2016.

Let’s get to it!

Design

What can I say? The Explorer is a full-blown classic, design wise.

The 214270, as mentioned, was a completely new Explorer. One of the most notable updates is the size. The new 39mm size is just the right size which just can’t be said with the previous 36mm model. The overall case design and proportions have also received a slight update. So the Explorer now has a beefier appearance which I personally prefer and is in line with Rolex’s current model.

The 2016 release of 214270 Explorer also features a revised dial and set of hands. In my opinion, the dial update is a welcome improvement. Instead of the plain gold markers, the 3, 6, and 9 Arabic numerals are now filled with luminous paint (Chromalight) for a more balanced appearance during low-light situations.

Before the 2016 update, I never like the fact that the dial of the Explorer falls short from touching the numerals and indices. All that negative space is just throwing me off. With the update, the hands were made slightly larger to match the larger case diameter.

For some people, the recognizable black dial of the Explorer can be monochrome and uninteresting. However, I do love the understated style with the depth of quality of this Rolex sports watch. The dial is helpfully legible and with the Chromalight, I can easily tell the time during the ungodly hours.

The Explorer is all about sporty elegance and top-notch quality.

Construction and Wearability

Like with of Rolex models, the Explorer makes use of 904L stainless steel which is why the watch looks different than other steel watches. That goes without saying that the watch is highly resistant to corrosion and can withstand even the harshest conditions – a must for any sports watch.

Also, the Explorer’s bracelet is secured with Rolex’s patented Oysterlock safety folding clasp which I always find to be very intuitive in terms of operation. You just need to do two gentle tugs to open the protective bow and unlock the bracelet. Adjustability is another benefit of the Oysterlock system as you can increase the bracelet length by approximately 5 mm for the best fit.

Whether it’s the cold of winter or the humidity of summer, the Explorer is quintessentially comfortable. For some reason, the watch features a metal that just pain enriches my skin which just can’t be said with most stell watches. No uncomfortable scratches or pokes here.

Timekeeping

Under the hood, the Explorer is powered by the self-winding calibre 3132 movement. I’ve always liked this movement not just because of its precision but for its robustness as well. Of course, the watch is COSC certified and that in addition to Rolex’s own Superlative Chronometer certification.

Well, there’s not much to say about Rolex watches’ timekeeping features, except for the company’s superior attention to detail and accuracy. The stringent +2/-2 second a day accuracy is truly the draw here. You can trust that the 3132 movement will keep ticking for years without the need to lift the hood.

The 3132 movement is also equipped with Parachrom hairspring and Paraflex shock absorbers for superior durability and high-precision timekeeping.

Rolex Datejust Review

The Rolex Datejust is most noticeably classy and popular dress watches that the brand has to offer. If you are in the market for a classy watch that will make you look and feel like a boss, then you can’t go wrong with the Datejust.

For the most part, the Datejust is a luxury watch but this doesn’t mean that you can’t wear it to work each day. Many would argue that it’s a perfect watch for everyday use.

For this review, we’re going to talk about the Datejust 41 which is basically the replacement for the Datejust II.

Design

For all its intents and purposes, the Rolex Datejust 41 is a classic and elegant watch.

The Datejust 41 reference 126334 we have is the stainless steel and white gold which is branded as the Rolesor. This Datejust is actually predominately made of stainless steel and the only 18k white gold component is the fluted bezel.

With the 41mm Oyster stainless steel case, the Datejust should sit nice and large on your wrist. It’s easy to think that the larger case diameter will result in a bulkier design but that’s not the case at all. The design still gives off a slim profile, thanks to the slimmer case, thinner bezel, and more tapered lugs.

The white Rolesor Datejust 41 is available in several dials including black, rhodium, blue, and mother of pearl. It’s also available in two bracelets which are the Oyster and the Juliet, the latter being the dressier option. Lastly, you have two options for the bezel, the polished “flat” bezel or a fluted bezel.

Hands down, the most photogenic variant of the new Datejust is the one with blue dial, stick indices, and the Oyster bracelet model. It definitely looks gorgeous and contemporary but still manages to give that classical Rolex vibe. As per usual, the 12 o’clock features the Rolex coronet and at 3 o’clock is the date window.

The Datejust is all about the right proportions which provided the watch a more restrained but still elegant look.

Construction and Wearability

The Oyster case of the new Datejust 41 is waterproof up to 100 meters. Being an Oyster case, the DJ41 is also fitted with a Twinlock double waterproof system.

The iconic middle case is crafted from 904L steel which provides the much-needed elegance and robustness. If you go with the fluted bezel, you will get a watch which is branded the Rolesor. Basically, Rolesor is the combination of gold and steel which is a signature brand since 1933.

The crystal case is made of scratch-proof sapphire. One of the first things you’ll notice is just how svelte the 41mm case which not only makes the watch appear slimmer, it adds a certain degree of comfort as well.

As mentioned the Datejust is available in Oyster or Jubilee bracelet, though the latter is by far the dressier option. Both options are 904L steel bracelets that benefit from new hidden attachment system underneath the bezel. Both are equipped with the Oysterclasp which provides maximum comfort and adjustability.

The Datejust 41 is undoubtedly one of the most comfortable watches I’ve had the please of wearing.

Timekeeping

Perhaps one of the biggest changes with the Datejust that went virtually unnoticed is that it’s not powered by the calibre 3235. It’s a new generation movement which is now a forefront in the art of watchmaking.

At this point, Rolex is just flexing its muscles.

The calibre 3235 is a consummate demonstration of Rolex’s state-of-the-art watchmaking technology. The movement features 14 different patents. This results in fundamental benefits to aspects like precision, resistance to impacts and magnetic sources, power reserve, and reliability.

The new patented Chronergy escapement is particularly a standout because it gives the timepiece a high-energy efficiency. It’s also completely resistant to magnetic interference since it’s made from nickel-phosphorus.

The blue Parachrom hairspring that’s fitted to the oscillator has now been optimized with 10x more precision than traditional hairspring, despite of shocks. Precision is still -2/+2 sec/day, and performed after casing. There’s also the Rolex overcoil which guarantees regularity regardless of the position. As expected, the chronometer is COSC certified.

The Verdict

Again, this is a tough comparison.

On one hand, we have an iconic timepiece that stood well against the test of time. On the other hand, we have a highly versatile watch that captures the true essence of a Rolex piece.

I always have the penchant for understated timepieces so these two are some of the favorite Rolexes. However, the Datejust comes out on top for its striking wrist presence, superior movement, along with other improvements under the hood.

If budget is an issue or you’re looking to buy your first Rolex, you can’t go wrong with the Explorer. However, if you’re ready to take your collection up a notch, the Datejust 41 should be a worthy addition.

So what do think of this Rolex Explorer vs Datejust comparison review? Which of these two flagship watches do you prefer? Feel free to share your thoughts in the comments!

Omega Aqua Terra VS Rolex Explorer: A Head to Head Comparison

When it comes to luxury watches, there are two brands that excel: Rolex and Omega.

Time and time again, both Swiss luxury watch companies have proven that they’re a force to be reckoned with when it comes to high-end timepieces.

Today, we’re going to pit two luxury watches from Rolex and Omega in a head to head. Today, we’re going to do an in-depth comparison of the Rolex Explorer and Omega Aqua Terra.

If you’re looking for my opinion this early in the article, you should know that I chose the Explorer for the gorgeous dial, history and iconic status, and I was in the lookout for a more understated piece to my collection.

However, you should know that it was not at all an easy decision. Both the Explorer and Aqua Terra are amazing in terms of design, materials, and workmanship. Honestly, you really can’t go wrong with both. But we know that you’re because you want to know which timepiece is worth the hefty investment.

Let’s take a closer look at these high-end watches.

Omega Aqua Terra Review

If you’ve been eyeing the Omega brand for the longest time, there’s a good chance that you’ve come across the Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra. First released in 2003, the Aqua Terra has evolved into a highly versatile everyman timepiece. The watch exudes sartorial elegance while still managing to be tough enough for the real world.

For this Omega Aqua Terra comparison review, we’ll be focusing on the 41.5mm model # 231.10.42.22.01.001. There are other less expensive models like the Omega 231.10.42.21.03.003 Seamaster Aqua Terra with differences in features, movement, and materials.

Design

The Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra sports a very recognizable design – thanks to its black dial that is embellished with Teak Concept pattern. Basically, these are the vertical lines that would remind you of a polished deck of a luxury boat. This gives emphasis that the piece is indeed a dive watch.

Personally, I always prefer black dials on my watch and the Aqua Terra nails that look splendidly. The black dial is complemented by silver hands. The Omega and Seamaster logos are printed in white. Nothing to complain because readability is on-point, even in low-lighting situations.

The 41.5 mm stainless steel case houses the mechanical parts of the timepiece. There’s also the fixed stainless steel bezel and is covered by an anti-reflective sapphire crystal. These design elements worked harmoniously to create a classic but striking aesthetics. If you’re looking for a classic timepiece in terms of design, it’s hard to go wrong with the Aqua Terra.

One of the unique design elements of the Aqua Terra lies with its day aperture which is placed on the 12 o’clock and the date aperture on the 6 o’clock. Maybe it’s just me but I don’t really like the placement of the apertures.

Construction and Wearability

As mentioned, the Omega Aqua Terra is a 41.5 mm watch which is a bit large for me. However, I will hesitate to call it in the same class of oversized dive watches.

There are other models of Aqua Terra that are smaller, particularly for the ladies. Other case sizes include the 30 mm, 34 mm, and 38.5 mm versions. It’s not that bad especially when the Rolex Explorer II has larger models at 42 mm.

Both the bezel and bracelet are made of polished and brushed stainless steel. In terms of durability, stainless steel gets the job done in making the Aqua Terra fairly durable. However, it does make the watch a little bit heavy for my taste. The material is also quite vulnerable to scratches after significant wear and tear. I would have preferred Titanium but I know that it would only drive the price of the watch up.

One thing I love about the Aqua Terra is the strap options. The 231.10.42.21.03.003 features a three-piece link bracelet with a folding buckle. However, the Aqua Terra line itself has many different strap options like fabric, leather, steel, and gold.

Overall, the Aqua Terra is very comfortable although I think it’s a little bit too heavy which is not good for extended use.

Timekeeping

The Aqua Terra Chronometer is powered by the Caliber 8602 self-winding movement. For the uninitiated, this means that you don’t have to manually wind the watch.

It’s also worth mentioning that the Aqua Terra is a COSC certified chronometer which is the highest certification that timepiece can get from the Official Swiss Chronometric Testing Institute (COSC). The standard for a COSC certified chronometer is 99.994% accuracy or -4 to +6 seconds/day. The day and night features work as intended and change instantly at midnight.

Overall, the Aqua Terra is a very versatile and accurate piece.

Rolex Explorer Review

The Rolex Explorer has always been, in my opinion, one of the purest sports watches from the Rolex stable. It has always been an understated piece with no cyclops, no moving bezel or any other “common” Rolex features.

For this review, we’re going to focus on the Rolex Explorer reference 214270 which was updated back in 2016. Let’s take a look.

Design

The 214270 in 39 mm features a familiar yet new dial that sports Arabic numerals on 3, 6 and 9 o’clock, and there’s the large luminous triangle at 12 o’clock. The defining characteristic of the Explorer has always been the black dial, and it’s complemented by white gold numerals and indices – all of which are applied with Chromalight.

Back in 2010, the Explorer has been updated from 36 mm to 39 mm case size. Although this might have been a welcome update at first, many fans were disappointed that the enlarged dials made the dials too short, unable to properly reach the indices. Many enthusiasts felt that the change made an excess of negative space on the dial. The Rolex 214270 fixes that.

The Rolex Explorer is one of my most favorite looks when it comes to chronographs. As I’ve mentioned, I love watches with black dials like the Rolex Submariner. And with the 214270’s tighter dials, it’s hard not to fall head over heels over the Explorer. There’s the beautiful balance between the size of the dials, hands and, markers. This timepiece epitomizes sporty elegance.

For low light conditions, the Chromalight does its job and it looks super slick. In terms of legibility, I have no complaints.

Construction and Wearability

The Explorer’s case and bracelet are made from 904L stainless steel which is super resistant to corrosion and is usually used for aerospace and chemical industries. 904L seems to be standard when it comes to Rolex sports models.

As far as durability goes, the Explorer is a fairly tough piece although it’s made of steel. While I would prefer Titanium on my Rolex, the 904L offers better protection and weight savings as compared to, let’s say, a 316L.

The bracelet is secured with the Oysterlock safety folding clasp which is known for its ease of operation. A gentle tug easily opens the protective bow, and another tug on the lever mechanism unlocks the bracelet.

The Easylink system is another feature that I love as I can simply pivot out the clasp without altering the look of the bracelet. For the best fit and comfort, the bracelet also has a 5 mm extension which should come in handy when the wrist starts to expand during certain conditions.

All of these construction elements really make the Explorer a very comfortable chronometer. I didn’t experience any uncomfortable scratches or poking. This is a welcome surprise for me especially considering that it’s a steel watch.

Timekeeping

The Explorer is powered by Rolex manufacture Caliber 3132 movement. The watch is also COSC certified and that’s on top of Rolex’s own Superlative Chronometer certification.

This is where the Rolex edges out the Aqua Terra. Knowing Rolex and their mastery of attention to detail, the 3132 finishing ensures superior timekeeping reliability and precision. Rolex employs a more stringent +2/-2 second a day accuracy, which is performed after casing. Personally, I would have liked a day and date apertures which are notable omissions in this model.

The 3132 movement also comes equipped with Paraflex shock absorbers and Parachrom hairspring for added durability.

Head to Head Comparisons

Here’s a direct comparison of the key specifications of the Omega Aqua Terra and Rolex Explorer.

The Verdict

This is really a tough one.

For me, it all comes to the accuracy and precision of the Rolex Explorer. The Aqua Terra features an impressive COSC certified chronometers with -4 +6 accuracy but just doesn’t compare to the -2/+2 seconds accuracy of the Explorer. This just means that the Rolex chronometer is about 2 or 3 times more accurate than Omega’s offering. I also prefer the Rolex for the sheer brand prestige and resale value, but that’s just me.

By no means, the Aqua Terra is not at all an inferior timepiece.

In fact, it does offer more in terms of options. More choices for movements, more case options, more material options, you get my point. The Aqua Terra is a terrific choice if you’re looking for a high-end dive watch but don’t want to spend big on a Rolex.

Zeppelin Watch Review: Which Watches to Purchase?

Zeppelin Hindenburg Z-129 Automatic Review

Today we are venturing back in time. Before trips to the airport common, and the only things in the sky were birds. In 1900, the first Zeppelin was designed and ready for flight. The Zeppelin watches by POINTtec, represent this classic era, bringing a classic and simplistic design to the watch game.

Although POINTtec is a relatively new watchmaker (1987), they focus on making watches that represent the era of the great Zeppelins. The timepieces by POINTtec are valued at a good price, use great materials for design and create high-quality pieces. I definitely recommend owning at least one if you are into classic dress watches.

Zeppelin Hindenburg Z-129 Automatic

The Hindenburg can be considered the face of the Zeppelin brand. This is a beautiful, simplistic timepiece, that truly feels like you are being transported back to 1900 when you are wearing it.

Ironically, this watch is named after the passenger carrying Zeppelin, the Hindenburg. In 1937 the Hindenburg crashed and is forever remembered in history as the Hindenburg disaster. The reason behind the name of the watch is not because of the tragedy (at least I hope not), but after the beautiful design, retro style and elegance that the Zeppelin Hindenburg represented.

Design

When you first glance at this watch, you are greeted with a large 40mm stainless steel case and a bright white dial. The large, retro-styled fonts jump out and give the watch its unique and classic look.

One thing I love about all Zeppelin watches, and the Hindenburg in particular, is how the case is designed. The frame of the case is double domed, giving the watch a thicker look, that is more bold and desirable. Rather than a flat case that is found on many watches. POINTtec uses a hesalite crystal to cover the dial. Hesalite is a great material for a crystal because scratches can be wiped away and are very hard to come by. They are also cheaper to be replaced than sapphire crystals and are of higher quality than acrylic crystals.

The dark black, high-grade calfskin band is another great addition to this timepiece. It helps to maintain a classic dressy look when on the wrist and offers great comfort to those who wear it. This is a truly great material that is not always found on watches. Usually, you get a “genuine leather” which is typically a cocktail of low-quality materials that do NOT last. The Zeppelins’ calfskin leather band looks great, feels great and compliments the watch well.

Durability

Zeppelin watches are great, durable watches that are sure to last. It is hard to describe the strong feel of the case without you actually feeling it in person. But the case surely is of great material and is meant to last. The watch can also take some minor exposure to water. Just DO NOT go swimming or take a shower in ANY Zeppelin watches. Now, I have no idea why you would want to, but in case you have a”wearing a watch in the pool fetish” I just want to let you know this is not the watch for you.

As I mentioned before, the hesalite crystal is an awesome durable crystal. Scratches are almost impossible to come by. If you do in fact get a scratch, it is easier to polish out than sapphire crystals, so your watch can stay looking brand new for years and years.

Lastly, do not forget the calfskin leather. You can feel the difference in the leather used on this watch and it shows through wear that it maintains a sleek and matte look. This material does not wear as easily as genuine leathers and should last a long time if worn with care.

Movement

I am actually impressed with the Hindenburg movement. And that is saying A LOT! You can say I am a movement geek, nerd, enthusiast or any other adjective to describe someone who is oddly obsessed with something. I wouldn’t be surprised if I showed up on an episode of “My Strange Addictions”; Man In Love With Watch Movements…..

Back on topic. The movement on the Hindenburg is not in any way OUTSTANDING. However, it is pretty precise, especially for the price you pay.

The Hindenburg Zeppelin uses a Japanese, Caliber 9132, mechanic, self-winding, movement. Sounds pretty fancy, huh?

When reading reviews and customer feedbacks on all different websites, it seems that there is a general consensus that the movement works great! An interesting feature of the movement is that has somewhat of a loud rotor, which in my opinion, seems to fit the classic style. Do not expect this watch to be as accurate as a top-tier Rolex movement. If you enjoy the movement for what it is, I am sure you will be happy!

Zeppelin Hindenburg Z-129 MOONPHASE

Another great watch from Zeppelin is the Hindenburg Moonphase.

This watch has a very similar classic and retro design as the original Zeppelin Hindenburg, with a few noteable differences.

Design

The first difference that stands out on the dial is the crescent moon, “moon phase” logo on the bottom of the dial. This unique feature looks very interesting and actually gives you the ability to track the moon phases after just setting it up ONCE!

Another great feature is the date function. Not only do you have numerical numbers for days in a month, but you also have the day of the week, Sunday- Saturday.

Other than those main differences, everything else is pretty much the same. A great double domed, 40mm case. A large white dial with black hands and old-school numbers, a hesalite crystal and of course the black calfskin leather band.

Durability

For the purpose of not repeating myself, the durability of this watch is identical to the original Hindenburg Other than a few differences in design, the overall make and structure is the same. Meaning, yes, it is very durable.

Movement

The inside of this watch differs from the original Hindenburg, sadly. Instead of an automatic, mechanical self-winding movement, this model uses a quartz movement. I do not care for quartz movements, to be honest, I prefer a watch to be automatic.

The Hindenburg Moonphase watch uses a Ronda 706B, quartz movement. This is known to be a better movement when it comes to quartz, but in my opinion (if you care) a quartz is a quartz.

One thing that many people do like about this movement is the alignment of the hands. The second-hand ticks around the dial VERY accurately. Meaning, the hand is dead on with the second and minute markers. When you look at the time you can feel confident at what number the hand is on. Many watches have hands that tick in the middle of each marker, which is not a big deal, but if you are paying for a watch I would think you would want everything to be PERFECT!

Zeppelin Flatline Power Reserve

This watch is sure to make your heart skip a beat…. It may even leave you flatlined.

Design

A 40mm stainless steel case, polished bezel, and a bold dark black anthracite dial are the features that bring this watch together. Overall, the design is quite simple but has a clean bold look to it that defines the meaning of a dress watch.

Small white numbers and tick marks roll around this beauty and add to the large look of the watch. This watch also features the black calfskin leather band, which pairs perfectly with this piece.

Durability

This watch is just as durable as the other two watches I reviewed. A mineral crystal that is easily replaceable and easy to polish off scratches. The leather calfskin strap is one of the highlights of the watches durability. The high-grade material lasts through many wears and does not fade and tear like cheaper genuine straps (I know, I already said that).

Movement

I’ll take an automatic over a quartz movement any day. Which is why I like the movement on the Flatline Power Reserve.  The movement on this watch is a 26 jewel Citizen automatic movement. Based on customer reviews it is a reliable movement that does not encounter any problems. The power reserve is just another interesting feature that lets you know when your watch needs a winding.

Power reserves are great additions to mechanical watches (especially movements that are not TOP QUALITY), so you know when your watch needs to be wound up. A big problem people encounter with mechanical movements is forgetting to wind up their watches, so the time is never accurate. With this movement and design, you know that the watch needs a winding so you can never have to worry about loosing time (unless you are too lazy to wind your watch).

Why Buy Zeppelin Watches

Zeppelin does, in fact, make great watches at a VERY affordable price for those who love nice, minimalistic dress watches. All of the Zeppelin watches by POINTtec use great materials and unique designs on their builds. My favorite features are the quality calfskin bands, double-domed stainless steel cases, and the moon phase tracker on the Hindenburg MoonPhase watch.

When comparing Zeppelins’ to other dress watches, in my opinion, zeppelins’ prevail in most cases. The Zeppelin watch represents an age of classic design, innovation, and a whole different culture. Wearing this watches bring a style to your outfit that is different than many sports watches and modernized pieces that are mainstream nowadays.

If minimalistic design and durability are important features when purchasing a watch than Zeppelin watches are for you. The price point is fantastic, the watches last and the watches function properly.

Gucci Watches Review: Here are Some of Their Best Pieces

picture of the gucci g timeless automatic watch

Today we are talking all about Gucci, Gucci, Gucci. And no, handbags and designer clothing are not what will be discussed. We are talking GUCCI WATCHES!

Now, we all know that the name Gucci basically means expensive and luxury in fashion (Yes, fashion is a language). But we don’t typically think of watches, or at least, I don’t think of watches. I must say that I am very surprised with some of the watches Gucci has to offer. So when it comes down to it, if you are in the market for a designer watch that has some great quality pieces. Gucci may be for you.

Gucci Dive Watch

Yes, you read that correctly. Gucci has a dive watch. And I have to say it looks pretty decent.

If you are a fan of dive watches but can not see yourself dropping thousands on a Rolex or similar brand, then the dive watch by Gucci is probably for you. The design mimics the classic Sea Dweller but with an all black look.

Design

The Gucci dive watch comes with a stainless steel, 45mm case. A bit larger when compared to most dive watches on the market, so if you are not a fan of large cases, or you have a smaller wrist, than this may not be a great fit.  I really like the large case in this instance. The larger case truly stands out so you can see that Gucci emblem from a mile away.

The dial is a very dark black. With bold, silver writing inside of the face. The rotating black bezel also features the silver color for the numbers and tick marks. This is a great contrast if you decide to purchase the model with a black band (featured above). You can also swap the black stainless steel band for a silver stainless steel band. Either colorway looks great with any outfit you can think of. This is a very professional looking timepiece, that also looks just as well as a casual watch or even underwater (hence its name). I mean, I don’t know about you though, but I’m not going underwater in my Gucci watch.

Other Features

Another great feature is the sapphire crystal. It is not a feature that is noticeable but is of higher quality than some other major designer brand watches. Overall, the design of the Gucci Dive watch is classic. Not much is going on inside the dial, simply a dark, intense black with shiny silver coloring inside marking hands and minute marks. Like I mentioned earlier, it is a bit large. But seems to fit well because it just looks like a big, bulky intimidating watch marked with the high-class Gucci name. I think the large size was a STATEMENT by Gucci.

Durability

Not many designer watches (Burberry, Versace, etc) can handle depths up to 200m below the sea. This feature alone is why it is one of my favorite designer watches, even though I made the statement that I would never go underwater with my Gucci watch. Why so? Well, I honestly do not trust it as much as a top-notch Rolex dive watch and why would you risk breaking your Gucci watch? You aren’t going diving with your Gucci shoes, right?

Ok, back to the point. Due to the bold stainless steel bulky case, scratch-resistant sapphire crystal, and stainless steel bracelet, the Gucci Dive holds its own when it comes to durability.

Movement

The movement is not great on this watch, or really any Gucci watches. You will find it to be able to keep time at a decent rate. A Swiss quartz is the only information that Gucci provides. So it can be assumed that this is a pretty basic movement, put inside of a fashion watch.

Why a Designer Dive Watch

So overall, this is not an outstanding watch when compared to other dive watches. However, I must say, being a designer watch you do not expect to see a dive watch in the first place. Which is why the dive watch by Gucci is so unique and definitely a must-have by all dive watch and materialistic people.

Gucci G Timeless Quartz

Wow! Look at this gorgeous timepiece.

Designer Watch

Now, this is what I think of when I hear “designer watch.” A flashy and shiny, two-toned beauty. The colors blend perfectly, giving this watch a great look that can be worn with your favorite business attire. A light colored rose gold detail looks fantastic with the silver stainless steel band, rose gold bezel and dark grey dial.

At 38mm, this is more of a “good fit” when compared to the Gucci Dive watch. What makes this watch interesting is the sapphire crystal has an antireflective coating inside. Making it easier to see the dial of this beauty, even in the middle of the desert.

The small shapes within the dial make the whole look of this watch. Many top watch brands keep their dials plain inside. Here, you get a unique design that is sure to be an attention grabber while the rose gold hand ticks around the beautiful shapes.

Durability

You should not be disappointed with the strength of this watch. A really great feature is that it can withstand up to 50m of water pressure. Gucci actually says you can go recreational swimming in this watch. I, myself, would not go swimming with such a nice watch on my wrist. And even though the crystal is scratch resistant, I am not risking damaging this watch.

Overall, you can expect this watch to hold its own. The waterproofing and scratch resistant crystal make this watch more durable than other watches with similar, smaller styles.

Movement

An analog quartz movement is what you get with this watch. Nothing spectacular, but it will do the job. One thing I must say is when I review designer watches, the movements are not as important to me as when I am reviewing a Rolex or another automatic watch. If I am buying a designer watch, I am purchasing it for looks and, yeah looks!

That being said, no, this is not an AMAZING movement. It is a decent quartz that will be able to tell the time.

The Chronograph

You can never go wrong with a nice chronograph watch.

The chronograph by Gucci is quite simple for a chronograph. Stainless steel band and bezel with a dark black dial. A slight color contrast is introduced with the red second’s hand as well a red screw in crown.

Simple yet Stylish

This chronograph has a 43mm case. Its actually a very good size for a chronograph and does not look as complex and confusing inside the dial like many chronographs. Gucci made a simple watch, that looks great and functions well.

Look to wear this watch with anything. I would not say its as dressy as the G Timeless watch, but it can be worn with a nice dark suit or dark dress shirt. The fashion critic deep inside wants me to say stay with dark colors. But hey, DO YOU!

Durability

Scratch resistant sapphire crystal, Check!

Water resistance? Yes, up to 30m under the deep blue sea.

A heavy, strong stainless steel band? Of course!

Nothing makes this watch absurdly durable, though it is just as durable as the others I have reviewed.

Gucci G Timeless AUTOMATIC

You have to save the best for last sometimes. This is hands down my favorite watch by Gucci.

Design

Simple, yet elegant. The G Timeless Automatic by Gucci is a breathtaking timepiece that has a movement on par with higher end watches. Which is why I love it.

38mm stainless steel case, a polished silver bezel, and a diamond-patterned, black textured dial. The gold bar hour markers are a perfect addition to this piece, offering a perfect contrast to make this a VERY wearable and luxury watch.

The link bracelet is a great part of this watch as well. Adding a similar look to models. Although I love Rolex Datejust models, and actually own a few myself, I believe the style of the Gucci G Timeless is more appealing and modern! A perfect watch for the price!

Durability

This watch is not super durable, definitely not as the Gucci Dive, but it still has a few good features going for it. 5ATM water resistance, which basically means it can take a quick drop in the pool, you can have it on in some light rain and hey, it can even take a fall in the toilet. Do NOT go swimming with this watch. It is not suitable for water activities.

The stainless steel has a good weight, 16oz, and it is of a good material and polish. Scratches are not as noticeable on this watch, so it can take a few minor bangs.

Movement

A Swiss automatic movement. Not a piece usually found inside designer watches. It is nice to see an automatic mechanical movement in a designer brands timepiece.

As for accuracy. It is nothing special. Some reviews on Amazon claim that they have to reset the time every other day. For me, simply watching the second-hand glide around the dial is much more soothing than a slow and steady tick. So although the movement on this piece isn’t fantastic, hey, it’s still an automatic!

Final Verdict on Gucci Brand Watches

Serious watch collectors probably would never think of purchasing a designer watch, let alone a Gucci piece. Do not let this keep you from purchasing a Gucci. Gucci watches are contemporary, well designed, luxury watches, that have a great name in fashion.

The watches they create are attractive and look good with almost any type of outfit. If crazy accurate movements and immense history is not very important to you when buying a watch, Gucci watches are a good choice. Make sure to purchase your watch from a trustworthy website. Happy watch shopping!
