best watch under $3000

How the Review Works

First of all, the term best is a relative term to most. However, when it comes to watches, the term may hold more truth. Watches come in all designs, sizes, shapes, movements, and functions. What typically makes a watch “better” is the design, movement, value, and durability. These will all be accounted for in today’s review to give everyone the VERY best choices for 2019.

Continue on to find out what are the best watches under 3,000 dollars in 2019. We will give you a hint on which one is the best; the Tag Heuer Carrera Calibre 5!

Tag Heuer Carrera

The Tag Heuer Carrera Calibre definitely deserves a top spot for today’s review. It is a handsome and flawless dress watch that pops on the wrist.

Where the Carrera Calibre really shines (literally), lies in the design. At first glance, it is a pretty classic dress style watch. But further investigation it is not hard to see how precious and unique this watch is.

A 39 mm stainless steel case, with a bright, light silver dial and a hand applied Tag Heuer symbol greet those who dare to glance at this masterpiece. The sapphire crystal protecting the dial is not only shiny but keeps the dial from acquiring scratches and smudges.

It’s all in the design

Behind the beautiful case, you will find a skeleton view of the precise movement. Although the case back is not visible at all times, it is a great feature to be able to take off your watch and see the movement in action.

Other highlights of the Carrera Calibre 5 include (but are not limited to): water resistance up to 100M, 38-hour power reserve, automatic movement and the polished link bracelet with a deployment clasp.

Top Features

  • Magnificent silver dial
  • A reliable movement that keeps time extremely well
  • Amazing value for a Tag Heuer Timepiece

With all that said. This is hands down one of the best choices in this price range. Tag Heuer’s are known as one of the top watch brands on the market. And it is easy to see how they outdid themselves with the Carrera Calibre 5!

Breitling Superocean II 42

Now to be completely honest, the Breitling Superocean II 42 may have been chosen for the number one spot if it wasn’t for one factor. It is slightly over the 3,000 dollar mark.

This one has many relating it to one of the most classic dive watches of all time: The Rolex Submariner. What makes the Breitling SO MUCH better, in this case, is it is A LOT more affordable (That was hard to say, I am a Rolex FANATIC)!

Follow this link to see our review of the Breitling Superocean II vs. Rolex Submariner.

The Breitling Superocean II has a perfect sized 42mm case, that is not as big as it sounds. It is on the smaller size compared to many Breitling models, which makes it more desirable for those who were not blessed with bodybuilder sized wrists (Aka: have baby wrists like me). Sitting very low on the wrist, the watch has a nice comfort to it and not a bulky feel like many other watches with cases over 40mm.

One of the most noticeable (and awesome) features of the Superocean II, has to be the mariner blue dial. Blue dials are highly sought after, since they are not as common as black and white, and give watches more contrast.

Blue Dial For the WIN

What is better than a watch with some contrast? Nothing at all! The blue dial and blue bezel go perfectly with the high polished, stainless steel dial, to give buyers a watch that is versatile yet classic.

Some of the other qualities of the Superocean include water resistance up to 300M, a Caliber 17 movement ETA 2824 (Which is one of the toughest movements on the market), Mariner blue, bi-directional bezel.

Top Features

  • Mariner Blue Dial with large white numbers
  • High Polished stainless steel; all around the watch
  • Impeccable, 25 Jewel Swiss Chronometer movement

If you are willing to go slightly over the price point of 3,000. This is the watch for you!

Omega Men’s Seamaster Black Dial

Omega is another watchmaker who creates some great timepieces, that can be very pricey. Take the Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra for example, which costs way more than the Omega Men’s Seamaster Black Dial.

Let it be known, this Seamaster model has one of the most enduring looks in the Seamaster family. This watch is easily a favorite among Omega fanatics.

The watch has a case diameter of 41mm, with a rotating, low-profile ceramic bezel insert as well as a handsome black dial, are some of the top qualities of the Omega Seamaster.

A Modern Classic

As previously mentioned, the Rolex Submariner is a known powerhouse in the dive watch category for Rolex; as is the Seamaster for Omega. You simply cannot beat the durability, design, and versatility of this timepiece. Just as it can be worn for a sporty dive in the sea, it can also be worn in the most formal of events. This is a watch for a professional who also enjoys vacations and being adventurous!

Some other qualities that make the Omega Seamaster a unique and distinguished piece are the skeleton second and minute hands, charming 5-link bracelet and the impeccable durability.

Top Features

  • Upgraded, “looser”, Ceramic Bezel insert
  • 48-Hour Power Reserve
  • Extremely Tough and durable

Omega made a watch that is as formal and elegant, as is tough and sporty. The Omega Superocean literally hits on all cylinders.

Tudor Heritage Ranger Automatic

It was very necessary to add an “outlier” to today’s list. The Tudor Heritage Ranger Automatic is a watch that is not as well known, but functions well, is very durable, and makes a great dress watch.

Interesting enough, all the materials used to create the 41 mm stainless steel case, come from the same place as Rolex!  So for the price, you know you are getting insanely great quality. The Tudor Heritage has a military style look, combined with some features that usually identify a “dress watch”.  Simply oput, it is as rugged as is handsome.

The Tudor Heritage Ranger is in no way a flashy watch. It has a minimal look, with MAXIMUM features. Some favorite features of Heritage owners include; luminous hands, automatic movement with 38-hour power reserve, brown leather strap and the folding, slip through clasp.

Simple Design, with Amazing Quality

It’s not every day you see a watch in this price range using Rolex materials. With the Tudor Heritage, you can go to sleep at night knowing you have a durable and high-grade watch that goes beyond its name.

The Tudor Heritage is a perfect pick for those who enjoy watches that are simple. If durability is important, again, the Tudor is a great pick. Lastly, if you are looking for a true “Dress watch“, then look no further.

Top Features

  • Reliable, rotor, self-winding movement
  •  Rolex grade stainless steel case (don’t believe me, look it up)
  • High quality, brown leather strap, with extra green toned camouflage strap

Don’t count out Rolex’s sister brand. This is definitely a brand that many should do more research into, because they create some great watches, with accurate and reliable movements.

Henry Jay “Limited Edition” Specialty Aquamaster

One of the most attractive pieces is the last watch for the review today- the Henry Jay Aquamaster. Talk about last but not least.

Henry Jay is not one of the top contenders in the watch world. But don’t think that means they don’t create some legit timepieces. The two-toned specialty Aquamaster is a true beauty. 23K gold plating center link goes perfectly with the high polished stainless steel band and deep blue ceramic bezel with gold tick marks.

The Aquamaster has a handsome 42mm blue dial with gold hands and gold tick marks. A date window with a magnifying cyclops gives the Aquamaster a Rolex look to it. Overall, this LOOKS like a very expensive watch.

Owners swear by the quality of this watch. There are some complaints about the movement, that does not seem to keep time the best. It is equipped with an automatic, self-winding movement. But it is on the lower end of the spectrum in the review for reliability.

A Great Look, Affordable Price

Overall the Aquamaster is a good deal. You do not see many watches as beautiful as this, at such an affordable price point. If resetting the time quite often is not a huge deal, then this is a good pick.

A perfect watch for business, formal or casual environments. You will always find a reason to pull out the flashy Aquamaster. It will definitely be a conversation starter!

Top Features

  • Two-toned, 23K gold links
  • Luminescent, detailed hands
  • Attractive, blue dial

Rolex Datejust vs. Submariner: Comparing Apples and Oranges

Today, we’re going to have another head-to-head between two of the widely-considered best timepieces in Rolex’s stable.

It’s the Rolex Datejust vs. Submariner.

The Datejust is a long-standing, self-winding waterproof chronometer watch that is designed to display the date in a 3 o’clock window. Its design is classic and elegant and makes a strong, yet subtle statement.

On the other hand, we have the Submariner, which is definitely a classic piece and a timeless timekeeping icon.

If you are stuck choosing between the Datejust and Submariner, I have to say that it’s a good problem to have.

One is widely regarded as the perfect dress timepiece while the other is the quintessential dive watch. If you have to ask me, I prefer the Rolex Submariner. It’s one of my favorite watches ever for its classic design and reliability. However, if you really want to compare these two Rolexes, you’ll find that it’s like comparing apples and oranges.

Let’s take a closer look.

Rolex Datejust Review

For this head-to-head, we’re going to focus on the popular Rolex Datejust 41. Let’s first take a look at the key specifications of this Rolex model:

Model Rolex Datejust 41
Model case Oyster, 41 mm, Oystersteel and white gold
Oyster architecture Monobloc middle case, screw-down case back and winding crown
Diameter 41 mm
Material White Rolesor
Bezel Fluted
Winding Crown Screw-down, Twinlock double waterproofness system
Crystal Scratch-resistant sapphire, Cyclops lens over the date
Water-resistance Waterproof to 100 meters / 330 feet
Movement Perpetual, mechanical, self-winding
Calibre 3235
Precision -2/+2 sec/day, after casing
Functions Centre hour, minute and seconds hands. Instantaneous date with rapid setting. Stop-seconds for precise time setting
Oscillator Paramagnetic blue Parachrom hairspring. High-performance Paraflex shock absorbers
Winding Bidirectional self-winding via Perpetual rotor
Power reserve Approx. 70 hours
Bracelet Oyster, five-piece links
Bracelet material Oystersteel
Clasp Folding Oysterclasp with Easylink 5 mm comfort extension link
Dial Dark rhodium
Details Highly legible Chromalight display with long-lasting blue luminescence
Certification Superlative Chronometer (COSC + Rolex certification after casing)

Design

The Rolex Datejust 41 features design elements that made the Rolex brand an iconic name. The fluted bezel, Oyster bracelet, and the Cyclops magnifying lens above the date window are all here and share the same elements with other Rolex models.

One of the most striking elements of the Datejust is the blue dial. When I first saw the blue rhodium dial, it was love at first sight. The color of the dial makes the Datejust a very versatile men’s dress watch. Along with the fluted bezel, you got yourself a watch that’s oozing with elegance. It’s worth noting that the Datejust 41 is also available in a smooth bezel.

For the most part, I love the form factor of the Datejust 41. In my opinion, it just features a much better shape and proportions than the previous iteration of the model. I was never a fan of the previous versions of the Datejust because they look quite small in my wrist. The 41mm-wide size has vastly improved the Datejust over the Rolex Datejust II.

Compared to the Datejust II, the 41 looks a bit slimmer with a larger dial aperture and complemented with a thinner bezel. It’s also worth noting that the hour markers are a bit thinner.

The date on the Datejust 41 is displayed in a window at 3 o’clock which changes instantly at midnight in a few thousandths of a second. The Cyclops lens on the crystal makes it easy to read the date because of the magnification.

Construction and Wearability

rolexdatejust

My Rolex Datejust 41 comes with the signature Oystersteel bracelet which is just the way I like it. The piece is also available in Jubilee. Both models feature the new concealed attachment system underneath the bracelet. This enables the bracelet to connect easily to the case. The Datejust 41 uses the same folding Oysterclasp for closing the bracelet.

Adjustability is also never a problem due to the patented Easylink rapid extension system, which allows you to adjust the bracelet length by up to 5mm. This is such a good system for those hot summer days when you need to roll up your sleeves.

In terms of durability, the watch is made from Rolesor material which is essentially a combination of Oystersteel and 18 ct white gold. So when it comes to toughness, I don’t think there’s anything to be worried about when it comes to Rolexes. The crystal is made from scratch-resistant sapphire and the watch is waterproof up to 100 meters.

Timekeeping

rolex3235movement

The Datejust 41 is equipped with the new-gen 3235 Movement. This self-winding mechanical movement boasts about 14 patents including the new Chronergy escapement. This escapement system helps with combining high energy efficiency and dependability. Precision is -2/+2 sec/day after casing which is pretty much standard Rolex precision.

The movement is also certified by COSC (Swiss Official Chronometer Testing Institute) and has received the Rolex certification after casing. Nothing much can be said here except it’s Rolex, so expect state-of-the-line accurate timekeeping.

Rolex Submariner Review

For this section, we will focus on the Rolex Submariner Ref. 114060. First, let’s take a look at some of the key specs of this iconic watch:

Model Rolex Submariner Ref. 114060
Model case Oyster, 40 mm, Oystersteel
Oyster architecture Monobloc middle case, screw-down case back and winding crown
Diameter 40 mm
Material Oystersteel
Bezel Unidirectional rotatable 60-minute graduated bezel
Winding Crown Screw-down, Twinlock double waterproofness system
Crystal Scratch-resistant sapphire
Water-resistance Waterproof to 300 metres / 1,000 feet
Movement Perpetual, mechanical, self-winding
Calibre 3130
Precision -2/+2 sec/day, after casing
Functions Centre hour, minute and seconds hands. Instantaneous date with rapid setting. Stop-seconds for precise time setting
Oscillator Paramagnetic blue Parachrom hairspring
Winding Bidirectional self-winding via Perpetual rotor
Power reserve Approx. 48 hours
Bracelet Oyster, flat three-piece links
Bracelet material Oystersteel
Clasp Folding Oysterlock safety clasp with Rolex Glidelock extension system
Dial Black
Details Highly legible Chromalight display with long-lasting blue luminescence
Certification Superlative Chronometer (COSC + Rolex certification after casing)

Design

The Rolex Submariner Ref. 114060 has gone through several design changes.

First, the 40mm stainless steel case features a slightly different shape. The overall shape is rather square-ish with thicker lugs. This makes the watch looks more imposing. I have always liked this design as it looks more robust and tougher-looking.

The unidirectional bezel is equipped with a ceramic bezel insert. If anyone can recall, previous Submariner models had aluminum inserts. The new bezel looks shinier, especially under certain lighting conditions. The new bezel is much more scratch-resistant and the engraving really adds to the depth and texture of the watch.

The Submariner features the iconic black dial which makes it an excellent watch for all occasions. The indices are now larger and laced with Chromalight illumination. All of the markers are lined with an 18K white gold frame which adds to its overall sleekness. Legibility is top-notch which is a must if somehow you want to use it as a dive watch.

In terms of looks, you can’t go wrong with the Submariner.

Construction and Wearability

Being a dive watch, the Submariner is waterproof to 300 meters or 1,000 feet. The winding crown is outfitted with the Rolex signature TRIPLOCK triple waterproofness system.

The middle case is made from super high-quality 904L corrosive resistant steel. What I enjoy about the Submariner’s stainless steel case is that it’s highly polishable which means that it gets more beautiful as the years go by.

The bracelet is fitted with the solid-link OYSTER bracelet in 904L steel. It’s also worth noting that it comes with the new OYSTERLOCK safety clasp and glidelock extension system. This allows you to adjust the length of the bracelet in 2 mm increments up to 20 mm – without needing any tools. This makes the watch highly adjustable for achieving the best comfort.

Timekeeping

rolexcalibre3130

The Submariner Ref. 114060 is powered by Rolex’s Calibre 3130 – a self-winding movement that is about as basic as you can get when it comes to timekeeping. The movement features a 48-hour power reserve and it is also Superlative Chronometer Officially Certified.

Compared to the previous versions, the movement has gone through some changes as well. Perhaps the most obvious one is its oscillator which is now fitted with Blue Parachrom hairspring. This makes the movement less vulnerable to magnetic forces and shocks.

The 3130 is not really mindblowingly spectacular but that’s fine since it’s meant to be a tool watch. However, it’s hard not to be impressed with the movement when it comes to robustness and reliability. Mine is still in tip-top shape despite the occasional knocks and rough treatment.

The Verdict

So which timepiece wins this head to head?

Well, this one is a tough call. If I can have my way, I will get both since they are both excellent Rolexes. Both watches can be worn with just about anything, have excellent water resistance, and they both have a killer aesthetic. The prices of both watches are quite comparable as well.

However, we know that’s not exactly a cheap option so if you have to choose one, I will recommend the Submariner.

The Submariner is not very flashy, which makes it more ideal for everyday wear. The Datejust brings the “bling” into the table and is more appropriate for formal and dressy events. If a date feature is an absolute must-have for you, then the Datejust becomes a no-brainer.

Again, it’s like comparing apples and oranges.

Wrapping Up

Both the Datejust and Submariner are top-notch high-end watches. I say, go to your local AD and give these watches a try. It’s probably the only way for you to tell for sure.

Enjoy the free coffee and the amazing experience of buying a lovely new watch!

Best Watch for Basic Training

Suunto Traverse Alpha

The Traverse Alpha is a more than just a watch. It has an insane amount of features to ensure you are ready to conquer basic training.

Typically, I would not say a watch that has so many computerized, digital features would be great durability-wise. The Suunto Traverse Alpha, however, is an exception. The rugged, strong stainless steel bezel keeps the watch protected. A scratch-resistant, sapphire crystal ensures the dial is well-kept and never harmed. There is even a water-resistant nylon strap that adds to the durability of this timepiece.

It’s All in the Features

What sets the Traverse Alpha apart from the rest has to be all of the innovative features that can help make basic training a breeze. The Suunto has an automatic shot detection feature, so you can keep up with your long-range shots in training, and see where you need work. An advanced GPS system that uses breadcrumb tech to track your position to let you know where you are at all times. It can even track a trip that you have taken, so finding your way back to start will be a breeze.

The battery life can last up to 14 days; so as long as you remember to recharge every so often you will be as good as gravy. YOU EVEN HAVE A BUILT IN FLASHLIGHT! Quickly find anything in field or barracks with the bright illumination from the flashlight in your watch!

The Traverse Alpha also has a radio communication ability that hooks up via Bluetooth. Set up vibration alerts to keep you updated on all the training times and events that you have to attend. All around, the Suunto Traverse Alpha is a masterpiece that is the DEFINITION of a great military watch!

Top Features

  • Advanced GPS Software
  • Built-in flashlight
  • Durable build (glass fiber, stainless steel coated case, knurled bezel and sapphire crystal, water resistant nylon strap)

G-Shock GG-1000-1A5CR

A close second to the Traverse Alpha (and maybe a first to others) is the G-Shock model GG-1000-1A5CR. This piece is very durable and can handle almost anything.

I already let you know what features are important to have in a watch for basic training. Well, this G-shock meets all the criteria. The durability of this piece is absolutely insane! It is shock resistant, mud resistant, and can withstand water depths of up to 200M.  The comfortable nylon strap is rugged and durable as well, easily resisting wear and tear that other bands tend to get through time.

Despite the large look of the watch (56.2mm case), it is very light. Meaning it is pleasant to wear on the wrist all day and does not cause any odd marks or uncomfortable feelings that some bulky watches cause. The watch also has a countdown timer. Five daily alarms to keep you on track with your day to day activities. There’s even a full auto calendar with multiple time zones! And last, it has an extremely bright LED backlight for easy readability at any time.

Although the timepiece is a battery powered quartz, I am sure you will not have to worry about changing the batteries often. This piece has a battery life of up to two years!

A Monster Watch

Not only does this G-Shock look like a military watch, it is literally considered one! The strong build is sure to keep your watch intact, while the innovative features can help  you acomplish any task that is thrown your way during intense training!

Top Features

  • Digital compass
  • Super-illuminator; LED backlight
  • Strong, powerful and robust build

G-Shock “Master of G” GW-9400-1CR

Another G-Shock makes the list. The G-Shock “Master of G” is a great choice for a basic training watch and is quite affordable as well.

What makes the Master of G different is that it is a solar powered watch. No need to recharge or buy new batteries for this bad boy! 24 hour military time can help you track the hours relevant to your work (BE HERE AT 21 HUNDRED HOURS”)!

Another special feature of this watch is the M6 atomic timekeeping. Just like the Rolex GG-100, there is also up to five daily alarms, a countdown timer, and a water resistance up to 200M.

Reliable Timekeeping

Due to the robust atomic timekeeping ability, you can rest assured that your sense of time will be on point! Atomic timekeeping is a feature that is absent in many watches. This is where a radio signal is sent out to the watch to make sure the time is accurate. So rather than being +/- a second or two; at the end of the day you are set at the EXACT time!

Top Features

  • Atomic timekeeping
  • Solar power digital watch
  • 24 hour military time

Garmin Tactix Bravo

The Tactix Bravo is somewhat of a “smart watch” that is very similar to the Suunto Traverse Alpha, but with some differences.

My favorite feature on the Garmin Tactix Bravo has to be the name. It sounds like a watch that should be owned by a special forces dude. No, but really, my favorite feature is the sunlight readable HD display. The display is easy to read in ANY atmosphere and is protected by a high-strength, domed sapphire crystal. The watch can easily be switched from day mode to night mode, which will offer night vision capabilities.

Overall, the Tactix Bravo is a solid watch for basic training. If you are into more technologically advanced watches, this is for you.

Serious Style

With the Tactix Bravo, you essentially have a cell phone, in watch form. The watch passes all of the “military tests,” Including water resistance rating, durability, innovative features, and easy readability.

Top Features

  • GPS/GLONASS positioning with automatic calibrating altimeter, barometer, and 3-axis compass
  • Night vision goggle compatible
  • Smart features for fitness and training

Timex T49612 Expedition

The last watch of the day is definitely a qualifier for a top military watch for basic training. But what makes it great is that the Timex is VERY affordable.

What stands out immediately when reading into this watch is seeing how it is designed for “outdoor torture tests.” Sounds scary to me, but in a way, it’s about to be your life for the next few weeks (just kidding)! Overall, the watch is strong, rugged, and durable- literally built to withstand torture.

With the Timex, you also get a built-in digital compass, Indiglo light up dial, and that is pretty much it technology wise. The 48mm case is built out of a durable resin material and is shock resistant up to I.S.O standards.

Withstand Tests Of Torture

Ask any of your buddies at basic training if their watches are built for torture tests. I’m pretty sure they will say no! Besides having an interesting test method behind this watches durability, it truly is one of the most durable watches on today’s review. It is also a budget-friendly watch, so you can save your hard earned cash for snacks and hide them under your bunk!

Final Word

Hopefully my review today has made it easier for you to choose a watch for basic training. Every watch on the review today has certain features that make it unique and worthy of your purchase. In the end, I still hold to my opinion that the Suunto Traverse Alpha is the best watch for basic training. However, the final choice is up to you!

Best Affordable Seiko Watches

We know that watches are important. Perhaps looking at them every few minutes makes the work day drag a bit faster? However, good watches can also be quite expensive. You don’t want to purchase a Rolex if it means spending your life savings. Likewise, you don’t want to buy a cheap, unreliable watch that somehow never seems to tick!

I am here to solve this problem. Today, this watch lover will be looking into the best SEIKO watches that are under $200! My goal is to find you a Seiko that meets your criteria for design and style, durability and of course, price!

Instead of having you read every single word that I have typed up (although it would be great for you to do so), I am going to make it easy for you and let in you on the best watch you can buy! The Seiko 5 SNK793 is a GREAT automatic watch, with a sleek, formal, and simple design, and it just happens to be EXTREMELY affordable! Read on to find all of the other great watches by Seiko!

Best Affordable Seiko Watch

Seiko 5 SNK793 Automatic

This is a great looking, comfortable and automatic timepiece. What looks even better? The price tag!

The reason this watch is ranked number one today lies deep within, hidden under the dial. Yep, I’m talking about the movement. It is not every day that you can find an automatic, 21-jewel timepiece for such a great price. Current owners boast that “nothing in the price range can compete with this watch!” And I second that statement. As an avid watch collector, I am exposed to watches with expertly crafted movements all the time. In no way is the Seiko 5 SNK793 movement spectacular, but for the affordability of this timepiece, it gets the job done and continues to function throughout continued use. Just make sure to wind your movement every few days, to keep the watch functioning properly!

A True “Steal”

When accounting for the simplistic, yet attractive design, the amazing movement, and the durability of this piece, it is easy to see why I say it’s a “steal!” Just know you cannot go wrong with the look: stainless steel bracelet, dark blue dial with a 36mm case, and a large date window that displays the day of the week and number.

Top Features

  • 21 Jewel, automatic movement
  • Dark blue dial
  • Polished, stainless steel bracelet

Seiko 5 “Diver Style”

Those who love the look of dive watches will appreciate this piece!

A great watch by Seiko that is as nice looking as it is durable. It is considered a diver style watch– it has the aesthetics of a diver watch, but not the workings. It has a water resistance of up to 100m. True divers are at least 200m.

Despite not being a true diver, the watch is still great! It features a 42mm case, with a dark black dial. It also has an aluminum unidirectional bezel and a hardlex crystal for increased durability.

A Dive Look, With a Low Price

Ironically, many dive watch prices are flying over many watch seekers’ price points. Well, you almost have what you need here. The Seiko 5 “Diver Style” is definitely suitable for swimming and light snorkeling. Just please, don’t go pull out the wetsuit!

Top Features

  • Beautiful dial and case
  • Push button deploy clasp and safety lock
  • Water resistance up to 100m

Seiko 5 Field Watch SNZG15

Field watches are great for everyday wear, due to the rugged design meant for durability. And you can bet that the Seiko field watch is a great choice!

The Seiko SNZG15 is a great choice for those on a budget and those who put their watches through more than just “wear and tear.” Field watches are known for being durable. This watch features a tough nylon band with a strong hardlex crystal protecting the dial. Not to mention the 42mm stainless steel case that is built to handle drops, bumps, bangs, and anything in between.

A Watch Curated for The Hulk

We all know good old Bruce Banner was on a tight budget. Also, any clothes he wore got destroyed whenever he was angry. Seems counterintuitive. Oh well. If the Hulk truly did exist, this would probably be his go-to. Not only is it very affordable, but it is the definition of durable. I just told you all the durable features of this watch, but WAIT! There’s more! You can also go swimming in this watch because it has a water resistance up to 100m! I think we all know which watch takes the gold in the durability category.

Top Features

  • Robust, nylon bracelet
  • Automatic movement
  • Luminescent dial (VERY bright in the dark)

Seiko SNKN01

The Seiko SNKNO1 was added to this review because of it’s unique look. And the great price of course!

With the Seiko SNKN01, you are getting a watch that is a bit different than the others reviewed today. For one, the squared, cushion shape adds a unique, but luxurious look. The case is large, at 43.5mm, and features a sunray blue dial protected by a hardlex dial window.  The distressed leather band is also durable, but also gives the watch more of a fashionable look.

Now like I mentioned-this watch is large. It is more suitable for someone with a large wrist. But once you own it, you will never want to take it off. It is comfortable enough to wear every day, and stylish enough to wear to formal events or business meetings.

Out of The Ordinary

Who really needs a round shaped watch anymore? Cushioned shaped watches are all the rage! While that statement may not be completely true, it is to some degree. To those who want a different look, one that stands out: this is your watch.  The large display makes it so this watch is easily seen by anyone who glances your way. Anyways, don’t just listen to me. You can find many happy owners who rave about this watch on Amazon.

Top Features

  • Cushion-shaped, large, stainless steel case
  • Beautiful sunburst blue dial
  • Automatic, self-winding movement

Seiko SGF204 Two-Toned

I am in love with the design and look of this watch. I know it is “copying” the two-tonedRolex Datejust, but not everyone can afford a Rolex.

Seiko did a great job when designing this watch. It truly looks like a high-grade, expensive watch at a more than affordable price.  The great-sized stainless steel 35mm case perfectly complements the two-toned silver and gold link bracelet. What enhances the look is definitely the gold coin-edged bezel that exemplifies what a luxury watch looks like.

What I am not so happy about in regards to this watch is the movement. This is the only watch on today’s review that is a quartz movement. Not that quartz watches are terrible, but if you want to appreciate the skill it takes to create a mechanical movement, you’ll see why battery powered quartz cannot compete.

A Rolex Look at a Low Price

Some people will be upset that this watch looks similar to a Rolex. Others will be extremely happy that this watch looks like a Rolex because it is much more affordable.

Overall the Seiko SGF204 is nothing short of beautiful. Everything from the light, shiny silver dial, to the polished two-toned bracelet. Even the Seiko name looks great on this watch. It is beautifully etched into the top of the dial and proudly displays the Seiko brand name.

Top Features

  • Gold, coin edged bezel
  • Two-toned, silver and gold link bracelet with fold over clasp

The Final Word

I apologize in advance if my review led you to purchase every watch that I mentioned. That was not on my agenda; I’m trying to save you money!

The review was created to display Seiko watches, under $200, that are actually worth it. This means that the timepieces are durable, accurate, and have good-looking designs.  Although I have a love for every watch on this review, I have to pick a best watch. When accounting for value, price, durability, comfort, design, and movement, there is no question that the Seiko 5 SNK793 Automatic is the best decision.

The Decision Is Yours

So which watch is it going to be? Are you going for the classic look? Is the dive style watch a must buy in your opinion? No matter what you choose, I am sure you will be happy with any watch that you decide to purchase. All of these watches have been approved by myself (the watch master) as well as MANY happy customers on Amazon.

Keep in mind, when purchasing a watch at any price point, make sure you buy from a reliable source. You do not want to risk getting scammed or purchasing a watch with no warranty. Use a reliable marketplace like Amazon so you don’t have to worry about any issues.

As always everyone, happy watch shopping! I hope I can help you pick the perfect watch that is in your budget!

The Best Freediving Watches for 2019

Best Freediving Watch

Dive watches are not only big in the Scuba market. These are timepieces that have become extremely desirable in the last few years.  Beautiful, high-class dive watches have been around for decades, like the Rolex Submariner for example. There is no doubt that watches like the Submariner are TOP NOTCH timepieces, however, I will not be reviewing the “luxury” dive watches today. Sorry Rolex fans!

Today, I will be focused on more affordable freediving watches. More specifically, the watches being reviewed today can almost be called computers. Read on to find out why the SUUNTO D6I is today’s ultimate winner and holds the title of the BEST freediving watch of 2019!

Top Freediving Watches What Makes it Great Diver Rating
Suunto D6I Tilt-compensated 3D compass, wireless air integration. Overall the technology is great with a clean design ★★★★★

Garmin Descent Mk1 Futuristic desgin, great value, dive log up to 200 dives ★★★★
Suunto Zoop Novo Affordable, easy to use, large screen ★★★★
SuuntoD9Tx Trimix support, three dive modes, continuous decompression ★★★★
Dive Watch By Pyle VERY affordable, more classic dive watch design, multiple color ways ★★★

Best Freediving Watches

Suunto D6I Dive Computer Watch

If durability, design, technology and specific “dive features” are important to you (they better be), this is the perfect watch for you!

Suunto is a brand that may not be mainstream (yet). But they are definitely increasing popularity. And for a very good reason, they create great, innovative timepieces.

The D6I Novo Zulu captures features a textile strap, which is built for strength and durability. This NATO strap was originally designed for military use! To ensure extra protection, the D6I is built with a high grade, steel case, and a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal. An awesome feature is also the logging, video, and image capturing abilities of the D6I. Once you take the image or video, you can easily sync to Suunto DM5 software, so you can share your underwater adventures with the world!

Robust “All Around” Dive Watch

Why the Suunto D6I is the best dive watch for 2019, in my opinion, is because of its all-around features. Not only do you get extreme durability, but also advanced technological features, a nice design and loads of other useful perks. These perks make the watch a PERFECT choice for any professional diver as well as those who dive as a hobby. The D6I hands down has the most dive modes and features to ensure a smooth dive every time.

Top Features

  • Durable, army-style textile Zulu strap
  • Camera and Video options to sync with a computer
  • Great Design
  • Recommended for Freediving and Scuba diving
  • 5 Modes: Air, Nitrox, Free Dive, Gauge and Watch
  • Wireless air integration
  • Best for breath hold training

Garmin Descent MK1

Garmin is a brand that many people know about. They produce high-quality tech gear and did not disappoint with the MK1 Diver.

The MK1 is an innovative masterpiece. Garmin has merged a technologically advanced smartwatch look, with the durability and some physical features of a typical dive watch.  If this is a watch you decide to purchase, know that it has great reviews from current owners and is known to last for a very long time.

Innovative Diver

With the MK1 you are receiving a watch with a full-featured GPS, a fully functional  Bühlmann ZHL-16c algorithm that ensures you stay within your dive limits and a heart rate monitor that keeps track of your heart rate throughout your whole dive. The watch was designed for serious divers who take the sport seriously and want a RELIABLE and BEAUTIFUL device to tag along through every journey they encounter. You will always be confident where you are with the reliable GPS feature, so you will not have to worry about getting lost at sea.

Top Features

  • ABC sensor capabilities (altimeter, barometer, and compass)
  • Elevate wrist-based heart rate technology
  • Futuristic look with high-quality materials

Suunto Zoop Novo

The Zoop Novo is not as flashy as the other watches being reviewed today. But do not let that count this one out, it is powerful.

Isn’t the name in itself just fun? Imagine telling people what kind of watch you are wearing.

“Hey man, what kind of watch is that?”

“Oh, just a Zoop Novo dive watch by Suunto!”

It sounds straight out of a fictional cartoon story, so you know this has some interesting features to it. For one, you are not limited by color. With 4+ colors to choose from, you are sure to find a color that fits your underwater personality. Even better is the Zoop Nova is affordable. This is a diver that does not break the bank. Easily flip through the five-dive modes (Air, Nitrox, Gauge, Free and Off) while smiling because you were able to save money with this purchase!

Simple and Easy to Use

When hundreds of feet under the great abyss, you can be easily distracted by a watch with hundreds of buttons and features. Not with the Zoop Novo. The simple interface has 4 buttons that control the whole watch. Readability of the dial is also simple, with a bright backlight display, that is meant to be read in the darkest of areas. So although the Zoop Novo does not have the most innovative and advanced features like other watches on the list today, it is a watch that will function with ease.

It is a nightmare when you are one hundred feet under the ocean and struggling to get your watch to function properly. With the Zoop Novo, it is as easy as a push of a button.

Top Features

  • Easy use/simple design
  • Long lasting battery life
  • Multiple colorways

Suunto D9TX

Wow! A lot of Suunto watches made the list today! Time to find out what makes the D9TX a great choice!

Anyone who glances at this watch will be intrigued. The full body, titanium design is as durable as it looks. Add the protective sapphire crystal and you got yourself a durable watch. Even the bracelet on this watch is titanium. It was literally built with strength in mind. I am pretty sure it was tested out on Bruce Banner while he was angry…..

Other than the beautiful physical features, there are also great aspects that are inside of the watch.  You can easily plan or log any dive straight from your PC or Mac. A full continuous decompression algorithm is installed to ensure a safe dive every time you take a dive. And this watch even has a tilt compensated 3D-compass.

Strong and Complex

No, I’m not describing a Bourbon whiskey; save that for after you purchase a watch!

It is easy to fall in love with this watch by sight. The watch is bright, shiny and made for any type of dive. The titanium build sets this watch apart from many of its counterparts. Titanium gives the watch a futuristic, yet lustrous look. This may be one of the more pricey of watches being reviewed today, but if you like the design and materials more than the others; than there is nothing wrong with purchasing the D9TX. Current owners are MORE than happy with their watch. It is not easy to find negative reviews about the D9TX, simply because it is a great watch.

Top Features

  • Titanium case and bracelet with an anti-reflective sapphire crystal
  • 5 modes to choose from while freediving (Air, Trimix, Free Dive, Gauge and Watch)
  • 3D compass with wireless air integration
  • Recommended for advanced freedivers in the commercial or technical diving
  • Memory up to 80 hours

Dive Watch By Pyle

The Dive Watch by Pyle definitely has a more “classic” dive watch look to it, rather than the dive computer style.

Now, to be honest, this watch was added to today’s review because of its INSANE affordability. You are losing many features because of the cheaper price point, however, it is still a notable mention against the other watches.

The bezel on this piece looks exactly like one on a Submariner.  What is different on this dive watch is the rubber band and its digital features.

This watch has a built-in stopwatch, thermometer, countdown timer, and has multiple time zones. It also has an automatic dive mode that sets in when in depths of more than 5 feet.

A Functional Watch at a Great Price

You get what you pay for. That is exactly what I say to describe the dive watch by Pyle. It is a decent dive watch that has multiple colors and designs to choose from and many digital features for diving. Is it the MOST reliable watch? No, not at all. But for the insanely great price you pay, it is what you should expect. If only it worked like a Rolex….

Go with Pyle if you are a new diver and want to try out how dive watches work, to see if they are helpful for you. After that you can move up to the big leagues!

Top Features

  • The amazing price
  • Automatic dive mode
  • Multiple colors to choose from/ Good to wear out, other than just for diving

Final Verdict

Freediving watches, or more appropriately, freediving COMPUTERS, are very important devices for serious divers. If you plan on diving professionally, or for fun, it is always a good idea to have a trusty dive watch. My review today was to show some of the BEST freediving watches of 2019, of all different styles and price points.

Any watch you decide to purchase should fit your needs if you look closely at all the features that the watch includes. At the end of the day, my suggestion would be to go with Suunto D6I. But hey, who am I, I’m just a watch fanatic. The final decision is up to YOU!

Buy From a Reliable Source

Always remember when buying a watch online, especially ones with higher values. Buy from a trustworthy marketplace like Amazon. I hope I was able to make your search for the perfect freediving watch easier today. Happy watch shopping my friends!

Best Rolex For Everyday Wear: Top Watch Review

There are so many watches on the market nowadays. Dive watches, sports watches and even watches made for the military. Not all of these are attractive timepieces. My job today is to pick the BEST Rolex watch for everyday wear. As an avid Rolex watch owner and Rolex fanatic, I am more than fit for this review. The basis of a great “everyday” watch accounts for a few key aspects.

For one, a watch must be comfortable. It must also be durable, so it can handle everyday wear and tear. Lastly, if you are buying a Rolex, you want a stylish and reliable watch.

So, rather than keeping you at the edge of your seat throughout this whole review, I am going to outright tell you the best watch. (Sorry for the spoiler).

The ultimate winner for best everyday Rolex watch in 2018 is the Rolex Oyster Perpetual 114300!

Read on to find out why the Oyster Perpetual is the best for everyday wear!

Top Rolex Watches What Makes it Great Rating
Rolex Oyster Perpetual 114300 Comfortable Bracelet, Color-Neutral (can be worn with anything),  Very Reliable ★★★★★

Rolex Air-King 116900 Bold-Black Dial, Exreme Durability, Immense History ★★★★
Rolex Submariner A True Classic, Signature Rolex “Cyclops”, Very Durable, Holds Value ★★★★
Rolex GMT-Master II 24 hour rotable bezel, very precise 3186 mechanical movement, strong build ★★★
Rolex Daytona Very Reliable, Unique/Beautiful Design, Not a Common Watch ★★★

Rolex Oyster Perpetual 114300

The Oyster Perpetual Reference number 114300, is a sleek and simple watch by Rolex.

What makes the Rolex Oyster Perpetual so great, is ironically the simplicity of the timepiece. It is in every way, an everyday watch. It is a good size, very comfortable, durable, reasonably priced and matches with LITERALLY ANYTHING!

The case is a perfect size, 39 mm, to fit a wrist of any size. You also get a fully adjustable, oyster steel bracelet, that is very comfortable to wear and stays snug on the wrist. These oyster bracelets do not loosen up like Jubilee bracelets tend to do.

Certified “Everyday” Watch

You can rest assure that the Oyster Perpetual will look good with ANY outfit you choose; casual or formal. This is because of the beautiful dark rhodium dial paired with the stainless steel, silver case and bracelet. The movement is excellent; a 31 jewel, house-made Swiss automatic movement with a 48-hour power reserve. So not only will your watch have a clean look, but it will be very reliable as well.

Top Features

  • Classic design, dark rhodium dial
  • Great value; low price for a Rolex watch
  • Comfortability

Rolex Air-King 116900

The Air King is a true king in the watch game.  This is a watch for those who like a bit of history, good style, and durability.

Back in 1945, Rolex gifted the world with the fabulous Air series of watches. The Air King quickly became one of the top models and would later become a collector’s item for watch connoisseurs.  While the newer models do not have the same collectors value as the originals; the 116900 is still considered a top-notch watch.

Other than wearing a collectible item on your wrist (which seems to contradict what an “everyday watch” really is) let me give you some reasons why the Air-King is in fact, a great watch for everyday wear.

A 40mm case, 19mm band with and a fold over clasp keep the watch looking good and makes for a great fit for most wrists. The bold black dial features the classic Air-King name (so you can show off)  and is surrounded by a polished stainless steel bezel. Like the Oyster Perpetual, the Air-King features a full stainless steel, Rolex Oyster bracelet.  Why the design does not steer away from the classic look of the 1950’s, a bit of color was added to the crown in the dial and the second hand. Giving the watch a bit of contrast, to really add more to your look.

A Piece Of History On Your Wrist

It is easy to tell why the Air-King is a great everyday watch. The watch can be worn with anything. It has a casual feel but can definitely be worn with a suit as well. The timepiece if comfortable, durable and reliable. Think of the Oyster Perpetual, just add a bit more history and you pretty much have the same watch! Which is why the history factor of this watch makes it a notable mention for today’s review!

Top Features

  • History of the Air-King (A collector’s item)
  • The contrast of colors in the dial
  • Reliability (This watch was and is still used by pilots for long flights)

Rolex Submariner

Would this really be a true Rolex review if the classic Submariner was not included?

When many people think of Rolex. They immediately envision the classic dive watch, the Submariner (No, I’m not a mind reader, but ask anybody, this holds true). And for a very good reason. The Submariner is a beautiful watch by Rolex that is a great functional dive watch that is also worn for everyday wear. The flexibility of this watch is insane! Not many watches do you seen be worn in the ocean, to the mall, or even at an important business meeting.

The Submariner is fit with a 40 mm, stainless steel case. The case looks larger and shiny, because of the black ceramic, bi-directional bezel. You also get the signature Rolex Cyclops to magnify the date. This is one of my personal favorite features on a Rolex because the 2.5 magnification really stands out and exemplifies what it is to be a Rolex.

A Durable Dive Watch

The final say on the Submariner is it is probably the most durable everyday watch that you can buy. Otherwise, you have a dark and bold black dial and shiny polished silver bracelet and case, that can fit any style that you choose. Since the Submariner is larger than some of the other watches today, it stands out and looks GREAT on the wrist of any big executive or businessman waiting to close a deal.

Top Features

  • Signature Rolex Cyclops (2.5 date magnification)
  • Extreme Durability (300m water resistance, shockproof, scratch-resistant sapphire crystal)
  • Beautiful black dial

Rolex GMT-Master II

The GMT-Master II is yet another great watch for everyday wear.

With the Rolex GMT-Master II, you get a combination of great technology, durability, and unique design. This is a GREAT watch; quite frankly one of my favorites. But when accounting for price relative to the other watches being reviewed today, it is a bit higher. Now if you are Elon Musk or Jeff Bezos, I would say this is the everyday watch for you. But not all of us can be as interesting (and rich) as Mr. Musk.

At first glance, the Master II is almost overwhelming. The large 40mm black dial is perfectly fitted with the black and blue ceramic bezel, the anti-reflective sapphire crystal and beautifully polished stainless steel bracelet.

A Watch With Some Special Features

The GMT-Master is not only attractive, it has some great features hidden inside. With the GMT, you can display multiple timezones on your watch while traveling abroad. A 3186 MOVEMENT keeps this watch running strong. This is one of the most robust and reliable mechanical movements that Rolex has created. The Bidirectional rotatable 24-hour graduated bezel is as beautiful as it is important. This is how you will switch between timezones easily and effectively.

Top Features

  • Black and Blue, 24 Hour Uni-directional, ceramic bezel
  • Rolex Calibre 3186 Self-Winding Movement
  • Multiple Timezones for Travel

Rolex Cosmograph Daytona

Definitely a notable mention for our review today. The beautiful, the classy and the high valued Daytona had to have a place in today’s review. Although it is one of the most sought-after Rolex watches, due to price and mere pricelessness, the Daytona comes in LAST place today.

Some Rolex fanatics may call me insane for ranking the Daytona in last place. But please remember, this is an everyday wear review. The Daytona is not only priced on the higher side but also because the value behind the watch, it may be hard to pull it out of the box every single day.

The aesthetics on the Daytona are mind-bogglingly amazing. The shiny stainless steel matches perfectly with the clean, white dial. The three subdials give the watch a complex look and make it the perfect watch for any formal occasion. A wedding may be one of the best times to pull out your Daytona. But because of the Cosmograph functionality and durability of the watch, it also makes a good piece to match with casual outfits (just take care of your watch)!

The “High-Class” Everyday Watch

There is no doubt that the Daytona is a good watch for everyday wear. It is reliable, durable and has unique functions that make the watch one of a kind in the Rolex class. But the price can make some stray away from pulling it out every day. Let me say this now, if the price was not an issue, this watch may be listed as NUMBER ONE! Unfortunately, like many, I have bills to pay, so the Daytona will probably only be worn on special occasions for me. Don’t be surprised if you start to notice this watch, or any variation of the Rolex Daytona Platinum Watch Ice Blue Ceramic 116506 UnwornDaytona, being worn by wealthy, top-tier executives.

Top Features

  • 3 subdials with Chronograph features (stopwatch, timer)
  • Beautiful white dial with silver hour markers
  • Bulky Silver Ceramic Bezel

The Final Say

Like I mentioned in the beginning of the article. I am a Rolex FANATIC. I own many variations of Rolex and even have some vintage pieces passed down from my family. So this review was easy, but difficult at the same time. There are so many watches by Rolex that I love and there are plenty that was not mentioned today.

My results for the review today were based on price, comfortability, durability, value and neutral design that can match with any outfit. Because of this, I chose the Rolex Oyster Perpetual as the ultimate winner! It is very comfortable, easy to wear and read and a durable timepiece that can withstand everyday wear.

The Choice is Yours

At the end of the day, the choice is ALL YOURS! Every watch today is an EXCELLENT timepiece. There is no watch that I reviewed that I would not recommend to my best friend. So please, choose to your likeing and I hope I made your watch shopping experience easier. Happy shopping my friends!

Akribos Watch Review

If you are looking for a timepiece that won’t break the bank, you might want to take a look at what the brand Akribos has to offer.

Akribos watches may not be the considered forever-keepers, they make a fine starting point for those who are looking to explore the world of mechanical skeletons. For this Akribos watch review, we’ll take a look at the various models in its collection plus a quick introduction to the brand itself.

The Akribos Watch Story

From the Akribos XXIV official website, the company prides itself to be a creator of fashion-forward timepieces:

All words used to describe Akribos XXIV products still can’t begin to explain the beauty and attention to fashion our products so clearly display. Staying ahead of the fashion curve is bread-and-butter, and our watches do it with breathtaking style and aplomb.

Although they’re not particularly a well-known brand, Akribos has been in the industry for more than a decade. The brand specializes in timepieces that feature elegant style and classic lines for a sleeker wearing experience. Akribos watches are modern and sophisticated but still manages to be traditional and understated as well. However, Akribos also offers watches that are on the trendier and sportier side of things.

The Akribos HQ is located in Brooklyn, NY and the company has recently partnered with Swarovski for creating timepieces for women. However, it’s worth noting that Akribos XXIV watches are actually made in Hong Kong using high-quality Swiss parts and designs.

Akribos Watch Review

Below, we have taken a look at some of the best watches the Akribos brand has to offer. If you are looking to give this brand a try, we highly recommend that you start with the following models.

Akribos XXIV AK625SS Chronograph

  • Display Type: Analog
  • Clasp: Buckle
  • Case Material: Stainless Steel
  • Case Diameter: 42.5 millimeters
  • Case Thickness: 12.5 millimeters
  • Band Material: Stainless Steel
  • Movement: Swiss Quartz
  • Water Resistance: 165 feet

This is one of the more popular watches from Akribos’ stable and for good reason.

The Akribos XXIV AK625SS Chronograph Watch is an excellent choice if you want a timepiece that is both smart and sharp, and suitable for any outing.

As far as looks go, the AK625SS is bold and beautiful with an unmistakable masculine aesthetic. The large face really adds to the striking look of the watch. The luminescent filled blued hour and minute hands help wrap up the overall profile of the piece.

In terms of comfort, I have to say that it gets the job done. The stainless steel mesh bracelet feels good on the wrist but it’s not very adjustable.

The AK625SS offers incredible value and it keeps time well.

Akribos XXIV Retro Swiss Quartz Watch

  • Display Type: Analog
  • Clasp: Buckle
  • Case Material: Stainless Steel
  • Case Diameter: 40 millimeters
  • Case Thickness: 11 millimeters
  • Band Material: Leather Calfskin
  • Movement: Swiss Quartz
  • Water Resistance: 99 feet

The Akribos XXIV Retro Swiss Quartz Watch is a perfect fit for fans of retro timepieces.

One of the first things you’ll notice about this watch is that it’s larger and thicker than expected. It also feels rather stiff out of the box. However, that became a non-issue after wearing it in the shower one day. It’s more flexible and comfortable now.

I love the classic look of the watch, especially with the beautiful leather strap. However, there are some legibility issues. Depending on the time of the day, the hands can be hard to see against the beautiful cream background.

It’s a proper retro watch that you can wear to church.

Akribos XXIV AK736BK Casual Watch

  • Display Type: Analog
  • Clasp: Fold-over
  • Case Material: Black Ion Plated Alloy
  • Case Diameter: 45 millimeters
  • Case Thickness: 11 millimeters
  • Band Material: Stainless Steel Wrapped Alloy
  • Movement: Swiss Quartz
  • Water Resistance: 33 feet

I love black watches so I was immediately drawn to the Akribos XXIV AK736BK Casual Watch.

The watch features a round dial with luminous hands and day, date, and GMT (24-hour) subdial functions. It’s a black on black design but with fairly legible hands so I have no complaints. The 45 mm case with mineral sapphire-coated crystal dial window is nothing special but I wish they used a better quality material.

The watch fits big and I had to bust out my watch tool kit to adjust the chain links. Other than that, it feels comfortable and rather light on the wrist. It features some water resistance but only for light splashes, so please don’t wear this in the shower.

It’s an affordable piece that’s perfect for daily use.

Akribos XXIV Women’s AK742 Watch

  • Display Type: Analog
  • Clasp: Buckle
  • Case Material: Metal
  • Case Diameter: 30 millimeters
  • Case Thickness: 10 millimeters
  • Band Material: Satin
  • Movement: Swiss Quartz
  • Water Resistance: 33 feet

Now, here’s stylish watch for the ladies.

The Akribos XXIV Women’s AK742 Watch is an easy recommendation if you’re in the market for an inexpensive women’s watch. The clean, blush dial is truly eye-catching and the rose gold color gives the watch an elegant, feminine aesthetic. It even came with a gorgeous box.

The watch face has a nice medium size – not too small or large. The strap is made from satin fabric and it’s rather puffy. Thus, it needs some getting used to. Plus, the strap can be quite stiff as well but it should loosen up after a few weeks of wear.

This is a beautiful and elegant watch and it’s available at an insanely economic price.

Akribos XXIV AK618RG Element Watch

  • Display Type: Analog
  • Clasp: Buckle
  • Case Material: Stainless Steel
  • Case Diameter: 44 millimeters
  • Case Thickness: 9.6 millimeters
  • Band Material: Leather
  • Movement: Japanese Quartz
  • Water Resistance: 99 feet

If you’re the minimalist type, the Akribos XXIV AK618RG Element Watch might just be your next dress watch.

Right out of the box, I was impressed with how the AK618RG looks. It’s just a classic timepiece with a timeless presentation. The face is quite large so it might not be ideal for those with small wrists. The dial looks minimal which is just the way I like it when wearing dress watches.

However, the build quality is not the best and the leather strap leaves a lot to be desired. But I love the watch face so much that I was compelled to replace the strap with a better-quality leather one. Also, it’s worth mentioning that the watch features more of a rose-colored tint rather than brown based on the picture.

The AK618RG is a fairly decent dress watch for a very affordable price.

Akribos XXIV AK727SSB Chronograph Watch

  • Display Type: Analog
  • Clasp: Buckle
  • Case Material: Stainless Steel
  • Case Diameter: 49 millimeters
  • Case Thickness: 15 millimeters
  • Band Material: Leather
  • Movement: Japanese Quartz
  • Water Resistance: 99 feet

The Akribos XXIV AK727SSB Chronograph Watch is another noteworthy product offered by the brand.

For starters, the watch came in a gorgeous packaging which certainly made a lasting impression on me. Upon holding the watch, you can tell that Akribos did a good job with regards to build quality. The dial includes the usual features like 60 second, 60 minute timer, and GMT (24 hour) sub dials, as well as the date window. Keep in mind that this is a fairly large watch at 49 mm case diameter.

However, the leather strap is quite stiff and can be uncomfortable with extended wear. Upon using it for a couple of weeks, there have been signs of cracking which is not good for a leather strap. I’m thinking of replacing the strap for a true leather one.

Overall, this is a solid Chronograph if you can get past the strap issues.

Akribos XXIV AK1002TTB Diver Watch

  • Display Type: Analog
  • Clasp: Fold-over Clasp
  • Case Material: Stainless Steel
  • Case Diameter: 46 millimeters
  • Case Thickness: 22 millimeters
  • Band Material: Stainless Steel
  • Movement: Japanese Quartz
  • Water Resistance: 50 meters

Last but not the last, we have a dive watch for you. The Akribos XXIV AK1002TTB Diver Watch is a budget-friendly dive watch that might just serve you well.

The watch can be submerged up to 50 meters, so it’s a fairly standard dive piece. Plus, it’s an attractive watch which means that you can use this watch for daily use if you want. The bracelet is also surprisingly well-made and better than expected at this price. For a quartz movement, it’s accurate enough so far.

If I have some complaints, the main one concerns the bezel which is just sloppy. Another disappointing drawback is the hands have no lume at all, so visibility becomes a major issue once the sun goes down.

This is functional, inexpensive, and for the price, you’re getting a lot from this dive watch.

Are Akribos Watches Any Good?

For such an unknown brand, many of you are probably asking if Akribos watches are worth the asking price.

From most of my experience as well as from actual customer feedback, these watches are exactly the case of “getting what you paid for.” These stylish watches look great and many of them feature eye-catching designs that can really leave a lasting impression. However, the watches have its fair share of complaints.

One of the most common complaints about Akribos watches is that they tend to wear out too soon. The quality of the materials used is simply not that good, especially when compared to brands like Seiko or Citizen.

However, perhaps the most glaring complaint about the brand is the quality of their customer support. Many customers have related bad experiences about the company’s customer service. This tends to lead to poor ratings and is not acceptable in this day and age.

On the other hand, there are long-time Akribos users who swear by the brand and claim that they have gotten a lot of value from their purchase. Many of them treat their Akribos as backup watches that look good even when compared with more expensive pieces. Many like their Akribos because it allows them to wear a traditional watch but can still showcase the “fun” side of their personality.

Final Thoughts

Akribos may not be a well-known brand in the industry but they do have a healthy selection of models in their product line-up. From fashion-centric pieces to dive watches, Akribos should be able to accommodate anyone who’s looking for an affordable timepiece.

As you might expect from budget-friendly models, there are some apparent dips in quality with several of their products. That’s understandable since they have to cut corners somewhere.

Despite that, Akribos offers some of the best inexpensive watches that you can get.

The Best Pocket Watches of 2019: A Watch Review

image of the best pocket watch to carry

Today we will be reviewing the best pocket watches for 2019. Pocketwatches are like mini time machines that bring you back to the past. In fact, the first ever watches were designed as pocket watches dating as far back as 1524!

Unlike typical wristwatches, pocket watches are meant to be worn in your, well, pocket of course! ( Where else were you thinking)?

Important features of pocket watches include, but are not limited to, design, innovative features, movement, and style. Today, you will find out why ultimately chose the Avalon Skeleton Pocket Watch as the BEST POCKET WATCH of 2019.

This review was not easy. Many pocket watches are GREAT due to the insane detail and quality pieces pit into them. So at the end of the day, YOU will decide which watch is best for you!

Top Pocket Watches Why It Is Best Pocket Rating
Avalon Skeleton Sleek design, 17 Jewel mechanical movement, VERY AFFORDABLE, Great materials used ★★★★★

Armourlite Tritium Full stainless steel design, innovative tritium lights, 60-month battery life, sapphire crystal ★★★★
Tissot Bridgeport Very accurate, high-quality movement, beautiful and clean design, classic look, large case ★★★★
ALPS Pocket Watch Unique design, reliable movement, GREAT PRICE, skeleton dial ★★★
Bulova Stainless Steel Pocket Watch Shiny, polished design, durable calendar (date) feature ★★★

Avalon Skeleton

You can never go wrong with a skeleton dial design. This type of design shows off the true beauty of a timepiece; the movement. And Avalon does a great job with the Avalon Skeleton!

Everything about the Avalon Skeleton is just great. From the beautifully polished brass case to the bright white dial with bold cobalt blue hour, minute and second hands.

It is Reliable

The 17 jewel mechanical movement runs this bad boy. It is sure to keep on ticking and staying accurate for years and years. In fact, there is a LIFETIME warranty for the Avalon Skelton.

It is affordable: With such a great movement you would think that this watch would be double, or even TRIPLE the price that it is going for. It is not easy at all to find a watch of this caliber for this price point.

Top Features

  • 17-Jewel Movement: For reliability and pinpoint accuracy
  • Skeleton Dial: To display the complex movement inside
  • Sapphire Crystal: To keep the dial from acquiring nasty scratches

Armourlite Tritium

The Armourlite Tritium has a nice and simple, classic design; with certain features that are innovative and unique to this specific timepiece.

Where this watch shines (no pun intended) is within the markers on the dial. They are fitted with tritium lights, which make it so the watch is able to light up in the dark. So no worrying about not being able to see the time, it will shine in any type of darkness.

Isn’t that awesome!  It is not every day that you see a watch that “glows” on its own. There is plenty of LED light watches in the market today, but not so many tritium light watches. The watch is built with a thick and strong stainless steel case and an anti-reflective sapphire crystal.

Follow the Light

Everything about this watches design is pretty classic. There is no doubt that it is well made and built for durability. It is NOT a mechanical movement, however, the battery life can last up to 60 months! What truly makes it unique is the tritium lights. You literally have a little science project going on in your watch; what a perfect conversation starter!

Top Features

  • Tritium lights: These lights do not use battery power, and light up your watch in the dark
  • Thick and sturdy case: The case is a whopping 12.8mm thickness!
  • Battery life: The battery can last up to 60 MONTHS!

Tissot Bridgeport

The Tissot Bridgeport is the most expensive watch being reviewed today but at the same time the most reliable timepiece created by a top watchmaker on the market.

You can just tell this is a high-quality watch at first glance. The case shines in the light, showing off the deep polish and handsome stainless steel that was used in creating this beauty. Everything is steel and polished on this timepiece, making it a true attention grabber. Overall, it is an easy and simple design, built with top quality pieces from the all mighty Tissot watchmakers.

Pricey, but High Quality

Tissot is a watchmaker that is highly regarded. Almost as much as the TOP names like RolexThe mechanical movement is extremely accurate and you can watch this precious piece at work through the skeleton dial. Any search for the Tissot name will come back with some great feedback. Not only is this a long time brand, but a TOP brand that will probably be prevalent in the watch world FOREVER!

Top Features

  • Top Quality: Everything from the stainless steel case, to the chain is just amazing
  • Tissot Movement: This movement offers unreal accuracy
  • Classic Design: The Roman Numerals really make this watch look like an old timepiece. But it just looks to perfect to be from the past!

ALPS Pocketwatch

ALPS Pocketwatch

Here to the most interesting pocket watch on today’s review. Is it from a movie? how old is it? Does it unleash a genie? These are all valid questions to ask when looking at this masterpiece.

What do you think, pretty unique, right!?

When looking at this watch you may think that you need to sell your car, take out a second mortgage and move into a studio apartment. Well, not today! The ALPS is actually VERY MUCH affordable. And for the looks and unique features, is definitely worth a purchase, or heck maybe even five purchases.

The awesome stainless steel engraved case is a great first look before opening it up and seeing the classic dial with the gold movement within. The case is a bronze color, which really goes with the overall look of this timepiece. It has the classic and librarian feel, but the engraving makes the watch look like it belongs to a wizard! Unlike some of the others watches being reviewed, this one is even waterproof. So no big deal if you hop into the pool!

A STEAL

I can truly say that this watch is what defines a steal. A mechanical movement, engraved design, skeleton dial, and durability. You can not ask for a better bang for your buck!

Top Features

  • PRICE: This is the TOP feature about this watch that does not relate to the aesthetics
  • Engraved Case: Exquisite engraving gives the watch a unique look that can do not look like any other watch you have seen (unless you are a sorcerer)
  • Mechanical movement: May not be as accurate as the Tissot, but then again it is 1/100th of the price! It comes with very easy to understand instructions on how to get the most out of your movement
  • Skeleton Dial: So you can be hypnotized watching the mechanical movement at work

Bulova Stainless Steel

Bulova Stainless Steel

Bulova outdid themselves with this gorgeous timepiece.

Yes, it may be pretty simple. Stainless steel with a white dial. But everything about it just looks great! The piece shines brighter than the sun. You can truly tell that the Bulova is made of high-quality material. It is large, with a 50mm case and offers a date feature on the dial. Current owners are very happy with their watch, and you can see from all the great reviews on the Amazon page.

Beautiful Look

It is an easy pick to say what makes this watch great. All around it really is a solid timepiece. But it just looks so clean and professional. Although this is the last watch to be reviewed, does not mean it is a bad watch! The stainless steel case and chain, perfectly compliment the BRIGHT white dial. It is definitely a classic look but looks new school because it is just so shiny.

Top Features

  • Polished Stainless Steel: For a crisp look that makes the timepiece shine like no other
  • Water Resistance: Up to 30 meters of water resistance
  • Large Case: A 50mm case makes it so the watch is easy to read

Final Recommendation

None of the watches reviewed today are “bad watches.” There is a certain feature that landed any one of these watches on the review board for the day, which makes each watch special in its own way. Some watches definitely have more reviews than others, some are VERY low priced, and others are somewhat expensive.

If it is up to me, rating a watch by design, movement, unique features, and durability; I would tell you to purchase the Avalon Skeleton. Overall, this watch simply kills every area that I reviewed. It has a SUPERIOR MOVEMENT, robust design with a classic look and can take some bangs and bruises.

The beauty of watch reviews is everyone has a different taste. So what I chose, may not be your favorite. My goal is to guide watch buyers to purchase top watches and steer them toward some good names. I truly hope I made your choice in watch a breeze! Happy POCKETWATCH shopping my friends!

Best Watches For Paramedics

Best Watch for Paramedics and active medical professionals

Today we will be reviewing and highlighting top watches for paramedics. A paramedics job is EXTREMELY important; so having a watch that can accurately keep time and function properly is a must!

The job of an EMT, or paramedic, involves a lot of moving around, being on duty for long hours and subject to water or other types of fluids. So while accuracy is a very important feature, durability is a top quality of paramedic watches as well!

You will soon find out that the Timex Expedition Gallatin is the BEST watch for paramedics! Why is that? Because of the durability, price and easy to read dial. It also is a plus that owners rave about the watches tough build.  It is difficult to find a negative review for this watch!

Top Watches for Paramedics Why Best? Paramedic Rating
Timex Men’s Expedition VERY durable, accurate, affordable and has an easy to read dial ★★★★
G-Shock GA100-1A1 Extreme durability and easy to use stopwatch features ★★★★
Seiko SKX007 Another VERY durable watch, but a bit more expensive. Highlights include an automatic movement ★★★
EMT Paramedic Aquaforce Literally designed for paramedics. Easy to read. ★★★
Fanmis Men’s Analog Display Durable and VERY AFFORDABLE, mimic of G-Shock at a lower price point. ★★★

Timex Expedition Gallatin

For the first watch of the day, we are reviewing the Timex Expedition Gallatin. Timex is a watchmaker with a long history. They are known for making durable sports and military watches, which happen to be a  great choice for paramedics.

The Timex Expedition Gallatin is about as good as it gets for a paramedic watch. It is a durable watch with a fast wrap velcro band, and a lightweight but strong, resin case. It is also a waterproof timepiece ( up to 50 meters) so it can handle water damage. The Gallatin is also easy to read. You can see the black hand tick around the large 44 mm case and the dial even lights up with a push of a button.

An All Around Watch

This watch is great for ANY wear: The Timex is definitely a top watch for any EMT or paramedic. You get the best of all of the other watches but in a sleek, dark design. Think of this watch as your GO TO. It fits in with any attire, so it can be worn long after a shift as well.

The Timex Expedition Gallatin is the best watch for EMT.

Top Features

  • Durability: I am going to give the durability rating on this piece a 4.5/5. It is a watch that can take anything you put in its path. So the job of a paramedic got NOTHING on the Gallatin.
  • It doesn’t cost much:  It may not be the cheapest watch in the review today, but I would say it is the best VALUED watch.
  • Multiple Designs: You can find this watch in a variety of colorways and designs. There are different band materials, colors etc..
  • Light up Dial: Working in the dark? No problem. The Timex has a bright, luminescent dial, activated easily with a push of a button

G-Shock GA100-1A1

Here we have the beautiful G-Shock GA100. A perfect watch for the job of any medical professional.

G-Shocks are known for their rough, durable designs. In fact, they are actually designed for military wear. So if a military medic can be found wearing one of these bad boys, I am sure it is a perfect choice for paramedics who are not at war. It’s one of the best watches for paramedics.

What else makes the G-Shock a great choice is the unique features and attributes of this piece. It is anti-magnetic, has a full auto-programmed calendar and a fully functional stopwatch. Similar to the Timex, you can also activate a light on this watch. This comes in handy when working in the dark!

Great Functionality

Why the G-Shock is one of my top choices for paramedics is definitely because of all the add-ons and the functionality of the piece.  You do not need to worry about medical equipment interfering with your watches movement on this piece. You also have a stopwatch on you at all times, that is easy to use.

Highlights

  • Anti-Magnetic: The G-Shock has built-in, anti-magnetic qualities that protect against the electricity given off from some medical devices.
  • Shock Resistant: Any fall or slam is no match for the G-Shock GA100. It is a true BEAST!
  • Nice size: With a 37mm case, this watch is sure to fit nicely on a wrist of any size.

Seiko SKX007

Simply look up Seiko SKX007 on a Google search and you will be amazed at all the reviews that come up from happy EMT and EMS workers. The Seiko is a durable watch that is built with an AUTOMATIC MOVEMENT ( my favorite movement). The reason this watch is not on the top like the G-Shock and Timex is that it is slightly more expensive than both. DO NOT let that turn you off though. Many happy customers are glad that they chose a Seiko and it is sure to last long and stay functional for a long time!

Automatic Movement

If you have read any of my reviews before, you know I LOVE automatic movements on watches. I mean, to me this is what defines a TIMEPIECE. The Seiko SKX may not have the best automatic movement in the world, but it still has one. Owners are extremely happy with the movement of this piece. Expect just a few seconds off per month!

Highlights

  • Quality Japanese automatic movement
  • Water resistance up to 200 Meters
  • 42 mm Stainless steel case
  • Beautiful dive watch design

EMT Aquaforce

If you imagined what an EMT watch would look like, without ever seeing one, this is probably what you would be thinking of (at least it’s what I saw in my wild imagination).

EMT Aquaforce

There is nothing fancy about this watch, nothing at all. But if a luxury design is what is important to you, rather than functionality, you may be in the wrong profession (can I get a different paramedic please)? But seriously, you will be the definition of a true EMT with this watch. It comes in an all-black design, with a light feel and a flexible band.

Made for an EMT

Not much can be found on the Aquaforce. But there is no doubt at all that it was made for an EMT/paramedic.  It is towards the bottom of today’s review because it is not as durable as the other watches on the list for paramedics. Some owners have claimed that their bands have broke. Other than that, it is a functional watch that is simplistic and will do its job.

Highlights

  • Design: EMT inspired design in the dial
  • Size: Large 47mm case
  • Simplistic: Simple, all black band with a black case

Fanmis S-Shock

Our last watch of the day looks VERY VERY similar to a G-Shock. Funny, it is called S-Shock… (I wonder why).

Fanmis S-Shock

The Fanmis was added to today’s review because it is the most AFFORDABLE piece on this list.  This is a watch that is durable and reliable, without breaking the bank. You can expect almost everything you get with a G-Shock but a lot cheaper!  This is a LARGE watch, 51mm case diameter. It has a silicone, rubber band, and an ABC plastic case; with that, you can understand why we choose it as one of the best watches for paramedics.

Affordability

Although the Fanmis is not as regarded as a G-Shock. Does not mean this watch is not good. It has almost EVERY feature that a G-Shock has, just downgraded a bit. The killer reason why this is a must by piece though lies in the price. Look at getting about four of these watches for the price of one G-Shock!

Top Features

  • PRICE: The most affordable watch on today’s review
  • Technology: Anti-Magnetic Anti-Vibration ( not as strong as G-Shock, but reliable) I would not test it out with an AED… (CLEAR)!
  • Durability: Plastic and rubber materials that can take on scratches, bumps, and falls and up to 50 M water resistance
  • Timekeeping; Full calendar and stopwatch with a quartz movement

Curtain Call/ The Final Verdict

I hope everyone found this review helpful today in purchasing a watch. My thought process today while reviewing was to find five watches that are highly reviewed by paramedics and are durable pieces that can handle the workload of a paramedic/EMT. At the end of the day, you can not go wrong with any of these watches, but in particular the Timex Gallatin, or the G-Shock GA100. It is hard to pick a solid winner, so I will leave that decision up to YOU!

When purchasing a watch for your career as a paramedic, keep in mind that looks are not everything. I tried to pick the best-looking watches, that have rigid, strong, durable features and are still not hideous. In no way are any of these watches a Rolex or an Omega; but in contrast, they are strong watches that can take on the important role of assisting a paramedic in their day to day work. Rest assured these are the best watches for paramedics.

Remember as always, when purchasing a watch make sure you buy from a reliable source like Amazon! If you keep that in mind, you can ensure that you are buying an authentic watch and typically with warranties. Happy watch shopping my friends!

Cartier Vs Rolex Watch Reviews

cartier men's w710056 dive watch

Ah, what a review we have today! Two brands that are highly regarded, and are some of the most well known in the watch and jewelry industry today. I am talking about the powerhouse watch brand Rolex and the jewelry turned to watch company, Cartier. Although Cartier is becoming more and more known for their high priced, luxury quartz watches; they still do not compare to Rolex.

The Rolex brand is one that will always be one of the tops in the watch community. Due to all of the history and great pride that Rolex puts into their watchmaking, it is the ultimate winner for today’s review.

Rolex is not the most expensive watchmaker to exist, and it is not the best. But the name in itself is popular amongst watch fanatics, rappers and really, anybody. The same can not be said for Cartier. Besides just popularity wise, Rolex is also A LOT more complex than Cartier. Rolex watchmakers produce masterpieces that are extremely accurate and beautiful. Cartier focuses on the luxury side of watchmaking and pretty much stops there…

Today, I will review the top watches by each brand, highlighting the best features and aesthetics of the particular watches. From there, I will show why Rolex is a better choice for ANY type of watch! (P.S: I am an extreme Rolex fan, not being biased or anything 😏) . So instead of saving the best for last, lets dive right into why Rolex is your golden ticket to watch paradise!

Rolex Submariner

Easily one of the most classic watches by Rolex. The beautiful, durable and simply designed Rolex Submariner.

The Rolex Submariner was one of the first dive watches to ever hit the market. Whether you decide to purchase a vintage or a newer model (pictured above), you are sure to be happy with your timepiece.

The Submariner features a beautiful black dial with a perfect sized 40 mm case diameter. A ceramic, uni-directional bezel insert gives a great touch to match the black dial and compliment the polished stainless steel Oyster bracelet. To ensure you are never missing out on time, Rolex created a reliable 3135 caliber self-winding movement for the Submariner. If you do opt for the Submariner, remember, there is no classic Rolex cyclops to display the date. And if you go for the model 114060, there is no date in the dial.

Features that make this watch so durable include a water resistance up to 300 Meters, a strong screw down crown to prevent water from entering the watch and a deployment buckle clasp on the bracelet, which keeps the watch secure on the wrist.

A Classic Dive Watch

If simply designed, but somehow very handsome dive watches are your thing. Then I can not recommend a better watch for you. The Submariner is reliable, VERY durable and goes well with any attire that you decide to wear (casual or fancy). If there was any other dive watch that I would recommend, it would be the Rolex Sea Dweller!  But for sake of my review, go with the Submariner! 😉

Rolex Milgauss

The Milgauss is a favorite amongst Rolex fans. Most of the design is classic and similar to a Rolex Datejust, with an exception within the dial…

The Milgauss looks like your average Datejust at first glance. Even the specs are pretty similar; the Scratch resistant sapphire crystal, handcrafted screw down crown, 40 mm stainless steel case and a black dial.

Two features that differentiate the Milgauss from other Rolex watches. The second hand is a bright orange lightning bolt. The watch was originally made for scientists in mind. So a signature lightning bolt was a must-have addition to this timepiece! Another innovative addition to the Milgauss is the anti-magnetic abilities within. The movement is not affected by magnetic pull due to advanced roadblocks put in to keep this from happening. The reason for this is because many scientists work around magnetic fields. So keeping accurate time while creating new inventions was something that was very important!

Innovation

The technology that is used on the Milgauss is not a common piece in watches. This is a factor that makes it so unique and so it holds its value over time. So even if you are not an awesome scientist, this watch is definitely a conversation starter. (“Hey is your watch protected against magnetic fields? No, well mine is)!

Rolex Cosmograph Daytona

The Daytona is the highest priced out of the Rolex watches that I have reviewed today. But for a very good reason, and it is ABSOLUTELY worth the price. (I wish I had one).

Within this masterpiece is an amazing 4130 Rolex caliber automatic movement. It is run with 44 Jewel movement and a VPH (vibrations per hour) of 28,800. A 72-hour power reserve that keeps the watch running longer. Other physical specs include a 40 mm stainless steel case, stainless steel adjustable bracelet, a beautiful black, ceramic dial and luminescent hands & hour markers.

Incredible Accuracy

The polishing of the DAYTONA is literally out of this world. But what truly makes it amazing is the precise accuracy of the movement that runs the Daytona. The Parachrom hairspring has exceptional qualities that make the watch extremely accurate. It is said to be ten times more accurate than a traditional hairspring.

Cartier Ballon Bleu Stainless Steel Watch

Now it’s time to go over top watches by Cartier. The Ballon Bleu is a great watch to start with; due to the classic design and perfectly polished look.

The stainless steel case measures 41.5 mm, so a great size for any wrist. It is slightly larger than most Rolex classic pieces, (40mm), but it’s still a great look. Inside the white dial holds the Roman Numerals that give the timepiece a vintage look. A nice automatic piece keeps this watch ticking strong. Long time owners are content with the movement on the Cartier Ballon Bleu. The movement is not as regarded as any Rolex movement, but it definitely gets the job done.

A Classic Look

If you are into watches that are nice and simple, this may be a great fit. The stainless steel and white dial go great with the large, bold Roman Numerals. This is a watch that can go with any outfit from casual to the most formal business attire.

Cartier Men’s W7100056 Dive Watch

Now for a dive watch by Cartier.

42mm large case, up to 998 feet of water resistance and a clean, dark black dial are some differentiating features on the Cartier Dive Watch. The watch also comes stock with a black rubber band. That being said, this is one of the more durable watches by Cartier and is a great choice if durability is important to you.

Many other features resemble the Ballon Bleu. Which is why this watch is known and regarded for its diving abilities.

A Durable Dive Watch

Although I would personally refer any Rolex Dive Watch over the Cartier Dive, this is still a good watch (Rolex is just amazing).  But there is no doubt that this watch is strong. You can be sure that it will last through any wear and tear, heck even a few drops in the toilet will be fine.

Cartier Tank Solo “Quartz”

The Tank Solo by Cartier is probably one of the most popular watches by the brand.

Cartier is known for their square-shaped timepieces. I personally am not a huge fan of how the squared watches look on wrists, but everyone is entitled to their opinion. Many people DO LOVE these styles of watches (hence why they are one of the most popular watches by Cartier). The stainless steel case is 27.4 mm with a synthetic sapphire crystal. The Tank Solo is run on a quartz movement but is known to be pretty accurate. For the most part, the watch is a simple look. A white dial with large, black Roman numerals and a stainless steel case and band.

For Those Who Like Things Different

Most men’s watches come in the generic round case shape. So having the squared design is a unique touch to stand out from other watches. This is a great dress watch that can be worn with business casual or very formal attire. It is sure to get people talking and asking you about where you got your watch. Remeber, people are drawn to things that stand out. And the Tank Solo by Cartier does just that.

Final Verdict

Hopefully, I made it clear today that both watchmakers are great brands who create reliable, and luxurious timepieces. When it comes down to what brand is MORE reliable, MORE durable and MORE luxurious; the ultimate winner is Rolex. Rolex is one of those household names that will always be known and regarded as one of the BEST watchmakers in the world! Cartier is more known for their fine jewelry rather than their timepieces.

If you opt for a Rolex, know that your watch will hold its value (if kept in good condition) and maintain its reliablilty throughout the duration of its watch life. The same can’t be said for Cartier. Why it may run for a long time, they are not built to last as long as a Rolex, and will not hold value like a Rolex. So if you need any more clarification than what I have said throughout this review, here you go for the last time. Rolex watches are a BETTER choice for prospective watch owners. They are around the same price and built with better materials.

At the end of the day, the choice is up to you. If you are truly in LOVE with the Tank Solo, go ahead and purchase it! Just make sure when you purchase a you buy it from a reliable source, like Amazon!

Happy shopping my watch friends!
